MAT 26:14, Then one of the 12 the one called Judas Iscariot went to the chief priests and asked, “What are you willing to give me if I deliver him (the LORD) over to you?” So, they counted out for him thirty pieces of silver.

“Where do you want us to make preparations for you to eat the Passover?”
He replied, “Go into the city to a certain man.”

Well the LORD did everything in accordance with the Law because HE fulfilled the Law.
So, the question, how could the LORD eat the Passover meal with HIS disciples before the Passover?

ACT 2:1-6, When the day of Pentecost (50) came, they were all together in one place, (celebrating Shavuot the Feast of Weeks). Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages.

LUK 22:8-13, And Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and prepare the Passover for us, so that we may eat it.” (Notice the Passover) They said to Him, “Where do You want us to prepare it?”

LUK 22:10 “When you have entered the city (Jerusalem), a man will meet you carrying a pitcher of water; follow him into the house that he enters. And you shall say to the owner of the house, the Teacher says to you, Where is the guest room in which I may eat the Passover with My disciples? And he will show you a large, furnished upper room; prepare it there.”

LUK 22:17-18, And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He said, “Take this and share it among yourselves; for I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine from now on until the kingdom of God comes.”

LUK 22:18, “For I tell you I will not drink again from the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.”
There is indeed a cup of wine waiting for us in Heaven.

LUK 22:10-12, And He (the LORD) said to them, “When you have entered the city, a man will meet you carrying a pitcher of water; follow him into the house that he enters.

Because of this difference in calendars, the Essenes sometimes celebrated Passover before the Orthodox Jews, other times later, but get this…in 30 AD there was a difference of 1 day. The Essenes celebrated Passover one day earlier than the Orthodox Jews.

The term “the 12” is a title, 12 is the Hebrew number for authority, divine authority at that. The number 12 is found 180 or so times in the Bible.

VS 24 But woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would be better for him if he had not been born.”

JOH 18:2-14, says as well this happened in the Garden of Gethsemane. Gethsemane means the Olive Press. Olive oil was used for anointing. So, the One who would be crushed for iniquities prayed in the Garden of the Olive press. HE was the one to be anointed.

LUK 22:3-8 Then Satan entered (possessed) Judas, called Iscariot, one of the Twelve. And Judas went to the chief priests and the officers of the temple guard and discussed with them how he might betray Jesus. They were delighted and agreed to give him money.

MAT 26:23-25, The LORD identifies the betrayer. And He answered, “He who dipped his hand with Me in the bowl is the one who will betray Me.
“The Son of Man
is to go, just as it is written of Him; but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been good for that man if he had not been born.”

The devil did not need to be continually residing in Judas for him to betray the LORD.
The devil was however influencing Judas at critical moments.

MAT 27:3-6, Then when Judas, who had betrayed Him, saw that He had been condemned, he felt remorse and returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, saying, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.” But they said, “What is that to us? See to that yourself!” And Judas he threw the 30 pieces of silver into the temple sanctuary and departed; and he went away and hanged himself.

The Potters field was a place where the potter, the maker of clay pots would throw the broken pots the so called mistakes that he made in making pots so those pots that were considered useless would end up there.

MAT 27 VS 9-10, Then that which was spoken through Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled:
“AND THEY TOOK THE THIRTY PIECES OF SILVER, THE PRICE OF THE ONE WHOSE PRICE HAD BEEN SET by the sons of Israel; AND THEY GAVE THEM FOR THE POTTER’S FIELD.”

MAT 27:5, Then he threw down the pieces of silver in the temple and departed, and went and hanged himself.

ACT 1:18, Now this man (Judas) purchased a field with the wages of iniquity; and falling headlong he burst open in the middle and all his guts gushed out.

“What further need do we have of witnesses? You have heard the blasphemy; how does it seem to you?”
And they all condemned Him to be deserving of death. Some began to spit at Him, and to blindfold Him, and to beat Him with their fists, and to say to Him, “Prophesy who hit you!” And others hit Him in the face.
