REV 3:14 “And to the messenger (the future Pastors of the Church of Laodicea) write (these things communicate): The Amen, the faithful and the true witness, the Beginning (Ruler) of the (new) creation of God…”
The Lord is one Lord.
Motivation must come from your relationship with God.
Motivation must come from interaction with God, and that means perception of doctrine.
Ability is what you are capable of doing.
Motivation determines what you do.
Attitude determines how well you do it.
Your potential remains only potential until it is properly motivated.
Motivation is what gets you started.
Habit is what keeps you going.
Salvation is not motivation for the spiritual production of your life.
If you do not have interaction with God, you do not have action for Christ.
If your mental attitude is wrong, your function is wrong.
1CO 2:16 Bible doctrine is the mind of Christ.
The more doctrine you take in, the more you build up the love factor, and eventually what you must come to is personal love for God.
Most people choose churches because of geographical location or because their friends or lovers go there or they like the music ministry or the “so-called” worship service.
The most important of all virtues in life is personal love for God.
If God is not more real to you than people, then you will never discover the true meaning of life.
The authority of our Lord is predicated on the First Advent, His work on the cross, and His strategic victory over Satan as the ruler of this world.
The last phrase in verse 14 points to our Lord’s authority and the importance of having a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
Perfect verb oida – pres-act-ind = function of divine knowledge.
Present tense of duration – denotes what was begun in eternity past and continues into the present time.
The active voice:
Jesus Christ as God produces the action of the verb.
The indicative mood declares the reality of God’s estimate of the situation.
“Deeds” – accusative plural – noun ergon = works, productions, accomplishments or deeds.
1. Self-knowledge.
God is eternal and therefore His knowledge is eternal.
They are called creatures full of eyes in front and behind. That is actually a uniform of wisdom.
Instead of learning all that they can about the phenomenon of life, they spend all of their time learning about the phenomenon of God.
The smartest creatures that have ever existed seek to know all that they can about God.
Time has nothing to do with God’s knowledge.
Since God is a person, He possesses both self-consciousness and self-determination.
God is Himself.
Because God is Himself eternally and infinitely, God knows Himself to be beyond comparison with any being or creature.
Because God is infinite, His knowledge has neither boundary nor limitation.
God cannot change; His knowledge cannot change.
Our knowledge is related to time and space.
God’s knowledge is not.
There is no word that the Bible uses more frequently with respect to the man who lives in darkness than the word “fool.”
ROM 1:22 “professing to be wise, they became fools,”
The Hebrew word for simple = pethiy.
Pethiy = “fool” –
describes people who are easily persuaded by – flattery, delusion, deception, and enticement = a stupid fool.
Flattery will score points with an empty headed and empty hearted individual.
The simple fool lacks discernment when associating with people who have loose morals.
Making wise the simple (pethiy).
There is hope for the simple stupid fool
(the pethiy).
The word of God will begin to correct their souls, giving them much needed foresight, discernment, and unwavering convictions.
