Rev1:3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and heed the things which are written in it; for the time is near.
Prophecy, itself, makes up about 25-30% of Scripture or the Word of God.
ROM 15:4 For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
1 Peter 3:15 but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence;
WE ARE ONE – Phi 2:2 make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.
Encouragement not to quit (the Spiritual life) and preserver (suffer for His sake).
Gal 6:9-10, Paul wrote, “Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we shall reap if we do not grow weary.
Gal 6:10 So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all men, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.
Prophecy, which is what God purposely intended, gives us (in the written Word) some indication of what His plan and purpose is for the human race
We will see in the prophecies we are going to cover – A complete, accurate fulfillment by Our Lord Jesus Christ – the Messiah.
Prophecy = Evidence that the Word of God is accurate and was written by authors which were inspired by Holy Spirit.
This allows the Prophecies that have been fulfilled to give credit of the future prophecies that are to be fulfilled.
During the Church- Age, there are NO MORE PROPHECIES to be fulfilled. We only are looking towards meeting Him in the clouds of the air.
2 Pe 1:16 For we did not follow cleverly devised tales when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of His majesty.
2 Pe 2:19 So we have the prophetic word made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts.
2 Pe 1:20 But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation,
21 for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.

Mat 26:31 Then Jesus said to them, “You will all fall away because of Me this night, for it is written, ‘I WILL STRIKE DOWN THE SHEPHERD, AND THE SHEEP OF THE FLOCK SHALL BE SCATTERED.’
Prophecy – Recorded by 2 different authors by inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
Both reference the same Zec.13:7 prophecy that was to be fulfilled.
We see this over 500 yr prophesied event, recorded, with the writings of the book of Zechariah
Mark 14:50 And they all left Him and fled.
Discernment = The ability and practice of examining or looking at something carefully; keen perception, understanding
Having Spiritual discernment is the skill of separating divine truth from erroneous or half-truth.
Principle – Fear has a way of bringing out the worst in us, if we are not grounded in Bible Doctrine.
The positive believer, who does not fear, can take full advantage of a “more abundant” life, through Christ, who gives him or her strength.
(He keeps pouring into them) Phi 4:13.
Fear can be a painful emotion or passion excited by the expectation of harm or evil and a strong desire to escape it.
Cowered means to shrink and they went away in shame;
I wonder if we would be (or are) willing to do that, stand up for Jesus Christ to the point of death?
(good question for self-examination)
(NKJ)Mark 14:50 And they all forsook Him and fled.
Forsaken = aphiemi = to depart from, leave helpless, totally abandon.
( af-ee-ay-mee)
Fled = pheugo = to escape safely from danger by flight.
( fyoo-go)
Mark 14:31 But Peter kept saying insistently, “Even if I have to die with You, I will not deny You!” And they all were saying the same thing also.
Peter denied the Lord 3x (exposed and questioned by servant girl and gatekeepers) and upon his 3rd denial of the Lord Jesus, it (prophecy) was complete. So, immediately the cock crowed!
The Lord is Faithful!
Never give up on the Lord and His Forgiveness’!
2 Thes 3:3 But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.
1 Corinthians 1:9 God is faithful, through whom you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Psalm 100:5 For the LORD is good; His lovingkindness is everlasting And His faithfulness to all generations.
- The price of His betrayal was also foretold by Zechariah.
Prophesied: Zec 11:12
Fulfilled: MAT 26:15
Zec 11:12 And I said to them, “If it is good in your sight, give {me} my wages; but if not, never mind!” So, they weighed out thirty {shekels} of silver as my wages.
The Sheckle in weight and value, is important for us to understand that Christ was sold out for a “robbers price”.
Mat 26:55a “ At that time Jesus said to the crowds, “Have you come out with swords and clubs to arrest Me as you would against a robber?
½ sheckle annually tax paid for the upkeep and maintance for the Temple
Mat 17:24 When they came to Capernaum, those who collected the two-drachma tax came to Peter and said, “Does your teacher not pay the two-drachma tax?” ( 2 drachma = ½ sheckle)
Mat 17:27b ;and when you open its mouth, you will find a shekel. Take that and give it to them for you and Me.”
Sheckle payment was said to be a slave’s wage; for unskilled labor.
The 30 pieces or sheckles of silver are approx 12 – 15 oz of silver or worth about 300-325 dollars.
Zec 11:12 And I said to them, “If it is good in your sight, give {me} my wages; but if not, never mind!” So, they weighed out thirty {shekels} of silver as my wages.
In the prophecy of Zecariah 11, he was to be Sheparding (doomed) flock of Israel.
Zec 11:4 Thus says the Lord my God, “Pasture the flock doomed to slaughter.”
Reference – God knew that they would reject the Messiah and were facing doom to the point of betrayal.
Zechariah, and also Haggia, were sent to stir up the nation get this – that let the foundation of the Temple constrction to lay there for 16 years.
The leaders were not doing there job, not truly shepherding them,
Zec 11:8 Then I annihilated the three shepherds in one month, for my soul was impatient with them, and their soul also was weary of me
Our Lord Jesus Christ – Prophet, High Priest, KING!
The Words and principles of Scripture should jump off the pages, being FULL of Spirit & Truth – Living water for your souls.
As a shepherd, Zechariah was entitled to ask for his wages or pay
ZEC 11:13 Then the LORD said to me, “Throw it to the potter, that magnificent price at which I was valued by them.”
1Ti 5:17 The elders who rule well are to be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who work hard at preaching and teaching.
1 Ti 5:18 For the Scripture says, “YOU SHALL NOT MUZZLE THE OX WHILE HE IS THRESHING,” and “The laborer is worthy of his wages.”
Principle – Our Pastor-teacher should be given a double portion and honor him.
..if it is “good in your sight” Oh Lord!
Zec 11:12 prophecy
Fulfilled in total accuracy: MAT 26:15
(Judas Iscariot) and said, “What are you willing to give me to deliver Him up to you?” And they weighed out to him thirty pieces of silver.
Do you really think that if the religious leaders were trying to get rid of Jesus (and his claims to be Messiah), Would they have paid up the exact price??
Mat 26:54 How then will the Scriptures be fulfilled, which say that it must happen this way?”
Judas manages the disciples’ finances, which gives him ample opportunity to steal (John 12:6)
Acts 1:16“Brethren, the Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit foretold by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus.
Judas is messing with the wrong Man!
God (always) Wins!
MAT 26:24 “The Son of Man is to go, just as it is written of Him; but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been good for that man if he had not been born.”
“Judas” is the Latin form of the Greek translation of the Hebrew “Judah.”
In ZEC 11 – We had the mention of 2 different staffs that would be broken by Zechariah.
John 17:12 While I was with them, I was keeping them in Your name which You have given Me; and I guarded them and not one of them perished but the son of perdition (Judas), so that the Scripture would be fulfilled.
Mat 26:46 Get up, let us be going; behold, the one who betrays Me is at hand!”
Mat 26:49 Immediately Judas went to Jesus and said, “Hail, Rabbi!” and kissed Him.
Mat 26:50 And Jesus said to him, “Friend, do what you have come for.” Then they came and laid hands-on Jesus and seized Him.
Jesus was Sold out and betrayed, by Judas, for “30 pieces of silver.”
Fulfilled: MAT 27:3-7
ZEC 11:13 Then the Lord said to me, “Throw it to the potter, {that} magnificent price at which I was valued by them.”
Fulfilled: MAT 27:3-7 Then when Judas, who had betrayed Him, saw that He had been condemned, he felt remorse and returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,
