This 3 part message is sort of like a “cross medley” of our Lord’s sayings and prophecies  or “a medley of the cross of our Lord’s sayings and prophecies”

If you have been able to keep up with our weekly studies you will know that we had hiccup in our scheduling and we had to fill in for DJK on Wednesday – and it worked out perfectly because my dad has this 3 part message he would like us to study before we close out our prophecy study which we are very close to accomplishing in the next week or so.

And this three part message was brought out through one of our Lord’s statements that He made on the cross and it was His 6th statement “it is finished” which we noted in some detail and now that we are ready to complete our 29 prophecy study we are going to briefly go over those Seven sayings  of our Lord Jesus Christ upon the cross.

We have gone into great detail with these prophecies so that we can know them and so that we can share and explain them in effort to defend the reason for the hope that lies within us….

So now that we are able to explain these to our loved ones we should know what it was that our Lord went through on the cross while fulfilling these prophecies for us

---- and this will help us to be - even - greater --ambassadors for Him -- and show our love --and dedication to our Lord and Savior.

So again here’s the problem that we have today- The problem is that "the god of this world [that is, the devil] has blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. (2Co 4:4).

I’m giving you information right now that most Christians, most - Christ - followers, - will never come to know and understand.

Most bible colleges don’t get this kind of information - and because we are faithful students of the word of God – we can now go out - into this lost and dying world and give HOPE – and give the REASON for the HOPE that we give!

The HOPE that lies within each one of us -  because what a shame it would be - for us to stand before the judgement seat of God - and NOT hear those words – well done my good and faithful servant!

Because - Hebrews 11:6 – tells us that God - is -a -rewarder of those who diligently seek Him!

And I don’t know about you but -- it takes a lot of work to diligently seek after our Lord.

It takes obedience, it takes humility and it takes discipline, --- and its not always easy to be disciplined, ---that takes strength - and that is why we are to rely upon - Him for that strength…, not ourselves.

So this attitude should characterize every one of us as followers of Christ.

The mind that was in Him must be in us (Phi 2:5) -- it must be our spiritual meat, or our spiritual food and the strength of our life.

The bible says that - we can have the mind of Christ, - we can actually think Christ-like thoughts.

This past week --- we went into our Lord’s statement “it is finished” and we saw that:  With the phrase “It is finished”, our Lord uttered the truth of the gospel of our redemption, and the fact that - all that was needed for man's salvation - had been accomplished on the cross.  But that’s not the end, that moment of salvation is our beginning.

And here is the main point:

To do the will of God - we have to have the mind of Christ - and the mind that was in Him - must be in us.

That’s why the bible says in Phi 2:5 - Let this mind, let this thinking be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.

And it comes down to this, - this is the key- point --- that we don’t want to miss out on: TO DO THE WILL OF GOD IN ALL THINGS, AND TO FINISH HIS WORK is the key statement behind this phrase “it is finished”.

He fulfilled all the work on the cross - by fulfilling all of the prophecies of the cross.

Now - what does He ask me and you to do?

Does He ask us to do even more than that?

Nope, -

He asks us - To do the will of God in all things, - that’s what God wants…

He doesn’t want to take us home right after we are saved –  He doesn’t say now that you believed on My Son come right to heaven,

- He says – now that you have believed on My Son – stay on earth - and do My will

- and be an ambassador for My son,

- represent Him to a lost and dying world

--- and do it with an attitude of love - and humility.

And He said - I will fill your mouth - and I will teach you,

--- not the pastor - because we have one teacher - and our true teacher in John 1:27 – 28, is called God the Holy Spirit

- and He can teach us a lot better than any pastor teacher can teach us.

Now I have to be clear here---- I am not saying that we don’t need a pastor teacher, - I did not make this up,

- in fact -  this statement does not originate with me – this is strait from our pastor’s mouth - from this very same message that he taught in 2014 – you can hear it for yourself, - there is an MP3 link to it in our YouTube description - and it’s right about at 37mins:10secs…

In every case, we should find the strength to perform our duty in our Lord's words.....It is finished

-- and to live out our lives in His perfect plan that He designed millions of years ago in eternity past, with our own portfolio of invisible assets and we want to reach for our escrow blessings and when it’s our time to die – dying grace - like Paul said in 2TI 4, --

2TI 4 this should be the goal of our life after salvation:

2TI 4:6 begins with Paul talking about dying grace, - he says: For I - am already being poured out as a drink offering,

-- he knew he was dying, --- when you are under dying grace --  you’re going to know when it’s time

- and you’ll be totally convinced that your under the timing of God

- and it won’t be a difficult situation to go through --- except like our Lord’s agitation, – you may feel sorry for your loved ones who don’t understand and will miss you.

2TI 4:6 For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come.

Now, - do – you – want - to finish the will of God?

Here’s what Paul said:

2TI 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith;

2TI 4:8 in the future there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing.

That’s what we live for, - to finish the work of God so that we can say “it is finished” – just like He said “it is finished” –

--and what was finished?

Him fulfilling the prophecies of the bible and what the bible says about Him, -- fulfilling and finishing His personal sense of destiny --  and the plan that He had called Him to,

-- and God wants us to fulfill and finish our personal sense of destiny -- and the plan that He has called you and I to live in.

So that when we die -- we don’t have any regrets whatsoever on our dying bed, -- we don’t say I wish I’d done that, I wish I’d said this… - No -  we don’t have any regrets whatsoever -- because we are totally convinced -that we have finished the work that God has called us to do.

You can’t get any happier than that -- especially when your facing death.

So - His finished work secured the victory over every enemy.

And there isn’t anything - that you and I could go through -- that He hasn’t already - given us the victory over!

By means of faith, (2Co 5:7), we may apply these dying words of Christ on the cross, and find the power for daily living and dying (1Co 15:31) in the fellowship of the crucified Christ (Gal 2:20).

Because I am crucified with Him - as the bible says - and nevertheless I live, -yet not I, - but Christ lives in me- and it’s no longer I who live – but Christ who lives in me - and the life which I now live in this human body -- I live by faith in the Son - who loved me - and delivered Himself up for me.

Therefore, we can agree with the apostle Paul when he says,

Gal 2:20 "I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and delivered Himself up for me.

The point is that the word of God is truly alive and powerful –

That’s why we have-  to-  have and be confident that Faith in what Christ accomplished on the cross will enable us to manifest in our daily life the spirit of the cross. (The Secret of the Cross).

What’s the spirit of the cross? What’s the secret of the cross?

The Secret Spirit of the Cross is: Lose your life and you will gain it.

Try to save your life - and you’ll lose it --- that’s the spirit of the cross, --- I’m going to live for Him – and to hell what people say… - that’s the secret of living for Him.

Again, the point here is that -- faith is the key to the word of God being truly alive and powerful.

That’s why truth is so important.

How important is Truth?

This is how important it is: Truth is that which God desires to be in our lives.

What is it that God desires? Truth in our lives.

God desires us to know the truth of:

How can I finish the work - that You have called me to do, - like Your Son finished the work that You called Him to do - even after He died for our sins… ?

David wrote it like this in:  PSA 51:6  Behold you desire Truth in the inward parts and in the hidden parts you shall make me to know wisdom."

There’s so many people who don’t have truth in the inward parts,

- they have truth with their mouth but not within,

- they lie, - they don’t have character, - they don’t have integrity, - they put down other believers, - they judge, - they gossip, - they malign, - they don’t treat other individuals like members of the royal family -- and they lie and they fool people

--- because people are ignorant of the word of God – and always remember this in your daily walk: --  as you’ve done it unto the least of my brethren, - you’ve done it unto Me. God says that.

So here is what God desires: God desires Truth to be within us.

---Anyone can pretend outwardly - but the Lord desires Truth within us

– anyone can enter into plagiarism, --- people plagiarize truth all the time, --- people plagiarize this ministry and they will copy word for word

--- and then turn around and put down the speaker because the speaker is not perfect…

it happens all the time,

- people are liars,  - deceivers – pretending outwardly to be something that has no truth within their hearts motivating them to do so --

---because they are just being used by satan and the kingdom of darkness to try to destroy anyone who is in their way,

-- because when you try to destroy the messenger - all you are actually doing is trying to destroy the message --- and ultimately it gets to the Lord Jesus Christ - and now you have misrepresented His truth!

God wants us to have truth - and He wants us to reveal His wisdom.

We need to understand how to relate to truth - because the bible says someday - truth is going to be our judge – not the Lord, -  not God the Holy Spirit, - not God the Father, - not God the Son, - John 12:47-48 says the Word of God is going to judge us.

So anyone can pretend outwardly - but the Lord desires Truth within us, why?

Because Truth will be our judge.

Truth - is what will judge the believer - at the Bema Seat Judgment.

Truth will reveal the lies that come forth from others  -who desire to discredit the man of God, - the people of God, - and the ministry of God.

That’s why I love the fact that To the stupid and the naive, God says in

ISA 54:17 "No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper; And every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their vindication is from Me," declares the Lord.

He is the God of doctrine, - the God of truth and we always - have to be careful - to avoid things that are simply not true - and outright lies - from those who have an agenda.

Such as an agenda by people, even believers of course, - being used by the kingdom of darkness - to steal away disciples to themselves - because they cannot reveal the truth to them - because they manipulate the truth - and they do not live in truth.

People who live like the scribes - and the Pharisees - and the hypocrites

- and our Lord warns us to be careful for them - and what they do in MAT 23:15  "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you travel about on sea and land to make one proselyte; and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves.

It is totally ridiculous,

Now, The point is that truth is what will judge the unbeliever at the Great White throne Judgment.

In fact, here is where we see how the apostle John put it in REV 20, you can turn there if you’d like, and as usual, I will have it on the board: REV 20:11

John tells us about seeing this Great White throne Judgment in  REV 20:11   And I saw a great white throne and Him who sat upon it, from whose presence earth and heaven fled away, and no place was found for them.

And by the way, - when it says no place was found for them - it means believers who are with God, - they are not going to be any believers at that great white throne judgement.

Again -believers are not going to be at the Great White throne Judgment when the unbelievers are being judged.

And John says: REV 20:12  And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to deeds.

REV 20:13  And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds.

They never finished the work - that God had called them to finish, - in fact they never finished because - they never even began, - they never started the race!

REV 20:14  And death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.

Notice that the verse says: This is the second death, this is the spiritual death, - they already died the first death - and that was the physical death, so notice that the unbelievers have 2 deaths, - and - the 2nd death - is the eternal one, - but that is a whole other study...

REV 20:15  And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

And also, I mentioned it earlier in JOH 12:47 "And if anyone hears My sayings, and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world.

JOH 12:48 "He who rejects Me, and does not receive My sayings, has one who judges him; the word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day.

The point is that God desires truth to be within us, 2Co 11:10, "the truth of Christ is in me."

Why does He want the truth to be in us?

- Because the truth will be that which we live on  - which causes us to fulfill the finished work of Jesus Christ - so that we can identify with Him - and finish the work that God has called us to do.

And I think that the majority of us here today and listening to these messages have in mind - that they want to do one thing:

Fulfill the work that God has called us to do!

There is no greater joy for the born again believer than to have the mind of Christ, - to live in your personal sense of destiny, -as He did,  -and when you have finished the race.

– And have arrived at your final destination – you hear those words – “well done Thy good and faithful servant”, you’ve been faithful in the little things, -- I’m now going to make you even greater in the eternal things!

All of that we went over, ---and we also recapped our prophecies -- and now we are ready to review our Lord’s sayings on the cross:

So the first saying on the cross from our Lord can be found in LUK 23:34 1. LUK 23:34 But Jesus was saying, "Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing."

And again I want to point out that This reveals our Lord's care for others and not Himself, in spite of what He had gone through and what He was going through.

The second one was found in 2. LUK 23:43  And He said to him, "Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise."

Again what does that bring out? -- This brings out the principle that He was caring for others while He was suffering for the sins of the entire world.

The third one is found in 3. JOH 19:26-27When Jesus therefore saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing nearby, He *said to His mother, "Woman, behold, your son!"

This is a great statement because it shows us again what He cared for on the cross, and this time He cared for His mother…

Then if you look at verse 27 He said to the disciple – and that would be the disciple John: JOH 19:27  Then He *said to the disciple, Behold, your mother!" And from that hour the disciple took her into his own {household.}

However, the message that was revealed through this saying was that  Caring for the apostle John and His mother revealed His message was Others.

The fourth one is a very familiar saying and is found in 4. MAT 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?" that is, "My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?"

And - He said this for us – again - and therefore He wanted us to know and understand the principle of others.

The fifth one is found 5. JOH 19:28  After this, Jesus, knowing that all things had already been accomplished in order that the Scripture might be fulfilled, *said, "I am thirsty."

And as we have noted, He was thirsty for Others.

And we now know - that there was so much more meaning to this statement - and we don’t want to miss out on any of this awesome – life - changing principles.

So - when He said He was thirsty He was again revealing something for others…

He was showing us - that He has completed the work - and that He has thirsted for you and I, - and by His statement “I thirst” --- He reveals that we will never have to thirst again -- and that is because He thirsted for us -- and the reason that He thirsted for us was to quench our eternal thirst because thirst represents what?

“Thirst represents the result of sin.”

So when our Lord was thirsty --- He was thirsty for you and He was thirsty for me,

--- and I don’t know about you – but I, - for one, - cannot wait to get to heaven and say thank you Jesus for thirsting for me!!!

The sixth saying of the cross can be described by one word: 6. Can be described by the word Tetelestai, translated it is finished.

Look at JOH 19:30  When Jesus therefore had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" And He bowed His head, and gave up His spirit.

However, - here’s the principle, - it's important to note that When the Lord Jesus Christ uttered the words "It is finished", He revealed the fact that not only salvation was totally complete but also the work of God and the will of God AFTER salvation was totally completed.

This is what a lot of people and theologians miss out on.

They think that when the Lord said “it is finished” that – that referred to salvation only, - and it did not-

-- that referred to salvation plus the fact that the work after salvation – the prophecies would be fulfilled by what He actually did.

Because it was through His finished work on the cross -- that we are even able to begin the race…

So when He said it is finished – He wasn’t saying – okay all the work has been done  - you can believe on Me and come strait to heaven now… that’s not what He was saying.

He was saying that the work is complete, We have the victory and now your life has just began.

SOOOO -- Our spiritual lives “begin” through His “finished” work. On the cross.

And I hope this makes sense to you because sometimes I have to figure out how to explain things a little differently than my father does ---

-- and the reason that I do that is not because your not smart enough to understand --  but its because I am not smart enough to understand the levels that he is at ---

so I have to break things down to my own level…. -- bc many times my dad’s doctrinal thinking is WAY UP HERE and mine is way down here…

And this is actually something that -- I have found --- my dad teaches--  that very few others have taught.

So this is about where we left off from Wednesday and Friday -- and if you would like in turn your bibles to the book of LUK chapter 23 is where we will pick up.

-- Again we are going to look at the 7th and the final statement our Lord made from the cross

And so this leads us to the seventh and final Saying on the cross which is found in 7. LUK 23:46, And Jesus, crying out with a loud voice, said, "Father, into Thy hands I commit My spirit." And having said this, He breathed His last.  Another words, He died.

But He still had something to do:

When the Lord Jesus Christ died on the Cross, it was voluntary which means that He did it for us and He did it for Himself.

He did it for us and Himself, He did it for us because of the will of God, and God’s will is that none of us would perish and He did that for us and then He also did it for Himself because He wanted to fulfill the will of God for His own life, His own personal sense of destiny.

You see- even still while our Lord was suffering, even still up to His DYING BREATH … our Lord was thinking of us and He was not only thinking of us but He was thinking of the will of God.

Think about that, - do you know anyone who while on their dying bed is thinking about others and the will of God?

It’s almost unheard of, and if you have – or maybe you are even that person –I want to be like you, - I admire that…  because that is having the mind of Christ…

And maybe it’s not on our dying bed, but maybe we are going through one of the most difficult test, deserved -  or underserved suffering …

And if your thinking of others and if your thinking of fulfilling the will of God in your most difficult circumstances that you will ever face here on earth and you are thinking of others and the will of God --- than that right there is a marvelous quality to have!!!

I admire anyone going through trials, challenges, difficulties - who keep their heads high and clear and on the prize, --  as a first class child of God --- thinking of others and fulfilling the will of God, their personal sense of destiny …  now that is passing the test!!!

One of the best parts about a situation like that, -- think about this: --- you or someone you love… bc its always worse when it’s someone we love, especially our children, but we won’t use children as an example because honestly – I just can’t bear that thought…

So let’s just say you are going through some terrible illness and you are fighting the battle on your dying bed

And your thinking of your children and your thinking --- how can I glorify my eternal Father in this situation – your pondering and praying about it –

-- and then you come to the understanding that whatever it is you are going through is from God, --- and He won’t give you anymore than you can handle,

--- and He has already supplied you with just the right amount of grace to get through

---and you come to the understanding that He is merciful when you fail, -- maybe you fall into the trap of self-pity – oh me oh my syndrome… -- and--- I know your dying here so it’s okay and that is what His mercy is for ---- so at least your acknowledging the fall --- and your not allowing it to keep you down there -in the – “oh me oh my land” --- and your fighting the battle but you know that it’s a battle and battles are hard, --- that’s why they are battles…

--- your praying and taking in bible doctrine daily and your fighting the good fight --  because you know that it is not your will but God’s will

--- and then you take it all in and you realize that because of His finished work on the cross, --- you can now have the mind of Christ -- and be at peace ---- and IMO – the best part is that you are able to be that example to those very precious children that we couldn’t even bear to think about suffering…

That is what our Lord finished on the cross for us and for His own personal sense of destiny in the PPOG.

In fact, The entire Trinity did it for us as taught in passages like ACT 2:22.

How do we know that?

We know that - because we know - that being students of the word of God we need to take very serious these passages like ACT 2:22.

If you want to turn in your bibles to the book of ACT 2

A lot of times people study the word of God and they miss out on these tremendous principles that we are not going to miss out on because our pastor has done a tremendous job putting them together for us...

And being students of the word of God we look at what the passages actually say and this passage actually tells us that it wasn’t the Jews and it wasn’t the Romans that actually crucified our Lord -- it was the Trinity that decided to do so -- and how do we know that?

ACT 2:22, "Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know‑‑

ACT 2:23  this {Man}, delivered up by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and put {Him} to death.

Notice that it was by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, that He was delivered up.

So He was delivered up - not by others - in the sense that others were making Him die, but it was by the predetermined plan of God.

And this goes all the way back to GEN 1:26 when God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness;

Now - if man were made in the image of God and according to the likeness of God -- and then man died for us - that means that  - the God that we serve  - and the God that love - and the God that we honor - is the same God - that was willing to give up Himself for us,  --- what greater God could we have than that???

Think about that the Budist don’t have that, the muslims don’t have that, theres no cult that does that, we have the only God that’s saying He is willing to give us Himself for us, for others…

When He says let us make man in our image according to our likeness and then Man would go to the cross and die for us that means that God was willing to die for everyone of us according to His image and according to His likeness… What a God we serve…

There’s so much to these passages, they are so deep… When we look at these passages, especially the old testament it’s so important for us that we know and recognize that God already knows the end result and He knew the end result before this book was even written so you have to say – with a God like that – what could we ever get bored with inside of this book, the mind of Christ….

We were created in the image and in the likeness of God.

And, whether you believe it or not, this is why you have been created.

We have been created to give our lives up for others, that’s the bottom line. –

--And until we have that attitude we will have no life whatsoever, that’s the truth that sets us free…

The one who tries to save his life shall lose it but the one who loses his life, and gives up his life, and gives up his time, his talent and his treasure - that’s the one who saves it that’s the one who has a treasure in heaven were neither moth or dust can corrupt and that’s an eternal treasure that can never be taken away…

Look at ACT 4:26

Here’s where we are told about the great leaders of the earth ACT 4:26 'The kings of the earth took their stand, And the rulers were gathered together Against the Lord, and against His Christ.'  Against the Lord is a reference to His Father and against His Christ is our Lord Jesus Christ.

ACT 4:27 "For truly in this city there were gathered together against Thy holy servant Jesus, whom Thou didst anoint, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel,

And why were they gathered together?

Look at verse 28 ACT 4:28  to do whatever Thy hand and Thy purpose predestined to occur.

Why were these wicked people gathered together? -- To do whatever was in God’s hand and His purpose, whatever God’s will had predestined to occur.

So God the Father said I want to have a member of the Trinity come and die for the sins of the world and its from My hand and its My purpose that I want them to come.

Jesus Christ was nailed to the cross because the fact that God the Son, God the Holy Spirit and God the Father all were in unity and decided to do so.

That’s the attitude of having the mind of the Christ.

The point is that When the Lord Jesus Christ died on the Cross, it was voluntary.

He chose to say - I want to lose My life, I want to give up My life, I want to lay down My life, so that others may live.

That’s the attitude of the God that we follow and that’s the attitude that we should never ever get familiar with, and this is the same attitude that we should have as ambassadors of Christ – the attitude that says --  I’m going to give up everything that I have.

The One who was rich became poor for our sake -- so that those who are poor,-- that’s us, -- could become rich… --- --- because of what He did for us , --- and He did it voluntarily.

How do we know that?  Look at JOH 10:17

JOH 10:17 "For this reason the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again.

JOH 10:18 "No one has taken it away from Me, but I lay it down on My own initiative. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This commandment I received from My Father."

He gave Himself as the "Lamb of God, who taketh away the sin of the world" (JOH 1:29).

He did it Himself in JOH 1:29 and He did it because He desired to do it for us.

And notice JOH 1:29  says Lamb of God, who takes away the “sin” of the world – it doesn’t say “sins” of the world.

And why is sin in the singular?  -

Sin is in the singular because of what JOH 16:7-9 says.

Since your in the gospel of John you can turn to JOH 16 or I will have on the board.

Whether you believe it or not..... this is one of the most important principles of the gospel that we need to understand in the plan of God as ambassadors for Christ.

Let’s look at John 16:7 and see the answer to that question - what is the sin that He actually took away?

This is Jesus speaking to His disciples the night before His arrest here in JOH 16:7 and He says

JOH 16:7 "But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper shall not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you.

Here’s the Lord saying I’m going to send the Helper to you meaning He is going to tell God the Holy Spirit what His command is.

You know what’s great about the Trinity – they all command each other to do things…God the Father tells God the Son what to do, God the Son tells God the Holy Spirit what to do, God the Holy Spirit tells God the Father what to do… they don’t care about commanders or who is in charge, they care about fulfilling the will that God the Father and God the Son and God the Holy Spirit have – that’s why we should never be afraid of fulfilling commandments – if you have humility you will accept the fact that you should be fulfilling commandments.

For example, - here’s a commandment: Don’t forsake the assembling of yourselves together… Don’t neglect the receiving of the Lord’s supper – we did that today… not many believers do that, not many believers today assemble together.

That’s why we have all kinds of problems in this country today, -- yes we are living in the end times but that’s not why our nation is declining… --  our nation is declining because the majority of believers live for themselves --and their own will --and they neglect the plan of God for their lives –-- they don’t assemble together, they don’t celebrate the one thing that our Lord told us to do in remembrance of Him… they don’t remember Him and His finished work.

Back to JOH 16:8 speaking of the Holy Spirit JOH 16:8 "And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin, and righteousness, and judgment;

It does not say “sins” in the plural because it’s not a reference to adultery, it’s not a reference to lying, judging, stealing, worshipping idols, sins of the tongue or mental attitude sins, it’s not a reference to murder…

It’s a reference to “one sin” and how do we know that it’s a reference concerning one sin?

JOH 16:8 "And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin, and righteousness, and judgment;

Here’s why: JOH 16:9 concerning sin, because they do not believe in Me;

That is the sin of unbelief.

Again here is that principle that many of us are very familiar with: The only sin that the Holy Spirit convicts people of is the sin of unbelief.

The only way that people enter into the lake of fire, like we saw in REV 20:11-15, when they stand before God the Father and their works are judged - not their sins, is the sin of unbelief.

So the bible says in verse 9 of JOH 16:

JOH 16:9 concerning sin, because they do not believe in Me;

What about righteousness? Not concerning their righteousness JOH 16:10 and concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you no longer behold Me;

He’s talking about His righteousness –

And then He talks about a judgement and this is not your judgment. He says: JOH 16:11 and concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged.

And then He made this statement to the disciples because they could not understand what you and I are understanding this moment because they did not have what we have right now,---  they did not have God the Holy Spirit who is your real teacher living inside of you.

In fact, none of the apostles had that until the church-age began… which is why our Lord says in verse 12:

JOH 16:12 "I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear {them} now.

JOH 16:13 "But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.

JW’s say that the Holy Spirit is a force – well I have some news for you if you’re a JW and you believe the HS is a force – my news is in honor of my 14 year old son and our recent after church special – which is star wars :

And sorry to tell you if you are a JW - the force is not with you…  because first of all -- you do not recognize the force’s other force Jesus Christ as God  -- and secondly the Holy Spirit is not a force the Holy Spirit is a person and the Holy Spirit is a He…

JOH 16:13 "But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.

And HE is still not done because JOH 16:14He shall glorify Me; for He shall take of Mine, and shall disclose {it} to you.

Now, here is the point, I have it all on the board and I will do my best to explain --- this is what is known as The Trichotomous Separation:

Upon His physical death, our Lord's human spirit went into the presence of God the Father.

His soul went into Hades to a compartment known as Paradise.

His body went into the grave to wait for that glorious moment some three days later when the body would be rejoined by the soul and the spirit.

This is the trichotomous separation.

And I have to confess that I don't understand why or how there was a trichotomous separation, all I can say is this is what our PT teaches to us -- that the scriptures have to say. The scriptures say “Father – into Thy hands I commit my spirit”.

But when His spirit went into heaven - He did not really go into heaven but He went to another place that God the Father sent Him to - that where going to see in this study…A place called “hell” it’s really called hades but He went there for a particular reason that we briefly saw recently.

And that reason is what we refer to as “The Victorious Proclamation”.

When our Lord went to a place called Hades – a place where the unbelievers, believers and fallen angles were dwelling in at that particular time and He went there to preach to them that He had got the victory and that he defeated satan who many of those angels had followed and now Christ was going to give them all the victorious proclamation that He has the victory and defeated satan because the fallen angels did not know what took place on the earth.

Now I cant explain all of these things I cant tell you why, my dad cant tell us why all we can do is tell you what the bible has to say and many of these questions “why” we can ask God in heaven and we will have plenty of time to do all that 

This is what the bible has to say in 1PE 3:18  For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, in order that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;

Being put to death in the flesh and being made alive in the spirit!

Oh and remember I told you about different versions of the bible – this is one of the reasons I love being able to use different versions – because - notice the small “s” in spirit – that’s because this is referring to His human spirit – not God the Holy Spirit… maybe you had that in mind like I did.

1PE 3:19  in which also He went and made proclamation to the spirits now in prison,

And btw, Jude 6 and 2PE 2:4 tells us who the spirits were – they were actually angels that had violated the rules of the angelic conflict.

1PE 3:20 who once were disobedient, when the patience of God kept waiting in the days of Noah, during the construction of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through the water.

Notice in verse 19 that by means of the spirit He went and made a proclamation to the spirits that were now in hell and the proclamation was He won the victory.

I don’t know and I can’t explain the process of this but I can tell you that the angels now knew exactly what was taking place during the Trichotomous Separation.

The Trichotomous Separation:

Upon His physical death, our Lord's human spirit went into the presence of God the Father.

His soul went into Hades to a compartment known as Paradise.

His body went into the grave to wait for that glorious moment some three days later when the body would be rejoined by the soul and the spirit.

This is the trichotomous separation where the body the soul and the spirit were separated.

Sometimes we just may not know the answers and we have to use that word “faith”.

Therefore, The 7th cry or saying from the cross was the beginning of the end; and yet in reality the end was a new beginning.

I love how it’s put here and again this does not originate with me but I do fall from the same apple tree of the originator so I will take that

That end was a new beginning – we tend to think that because things end that they are done.

----- With God -- when things come to an end they are not done…

let me show you why I say that: After He died – what happened to Him? –

Did He cease to exist? --- No – He rose from the dead:

For Jesus Christ would arise from the grave in a resurrection body,

- walk among men for a short time,

- then ascend into the presence of the Father

- to sit at His right hand as our great High Priest

- and make intercession for us forever (HEB 1:3; 7:25).

So His death was not an end His death was our beginning!

Never forget or become familiar with these principles:

That’s why death is not something we should live in fear of because death is in reality - the greatest blessing that we have.

Death is not the desert of life, death is the dessert of life!

It’s when life truly begins – and I know this because in 1CO 15:3, the apostle Paul said, For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,

1CO 15:4 and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,

Another words His death was not an end His death was the beginning, -- the beginning of a resurrection life.

And not only that 1CO 15:5 and that He appeared to Cephas , then to the twelve.

1CO 15:6  After that He appeared to more than five hundred brethren at one time, most of whom remain until now, but some have fallen asleep;

1CO 15:7 then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles;

1CO 15:8 and last of all, as it were to one untimely born, He appeared to me also.

The apostle Paul says – He appeared to him and He appeared to Paul last.

1CO 15:9  For I am the least of the apostles, who am not fit to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

But God saves the best for last… I say that because many of us have the opinion that the apostle Paul was the best but he was also the last.

1CO 15:10  But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me did not prove vain; but I labored even more than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God with me.

Now, I say all of this to bring up an amazing subject, which is what we call the Victorious Proclamation.

What is the Victorious Proclamation?

The Victorious Proclamation is

a message of victory that the Lord gave to those that were in Hades.

Hades was a place for believers and unbelievers.

Believers were in a place called Paradise ----- ---and unbelievers were in a place called Torment ---and then fallen angels were there as well.

So there was a huge crowd a huge congregation and no one in this congregation could walk out.

They had to listen to His message.

Undoubtedly, one of the most startling event ever to be observed in the angelic realm was the creation of man.

Now- Why in the world do I say that?

Well- go to GEN 1 and we will see why I say that.

I want you to think about the creation of man and because sometimes some of us think that the angels were first so they should be greater than us… that’s not true.

Some people think that --- Maybe not such a well taught crowd like us -- but some do…

Yet in the eyes of God and in the plan of God He says I’m going to create a lower creation - -and I’m going to make this lower creation - a higher creation -- and that’s why angles are said to be our -- servants –

--- why do you think they are called our “guardian angels”?... because they guard us, we don’t guard them do we? They guard us.

They guard us because there is something great about us -- because of our union with the Lord Jesus Christ.

And God saves the best for last that’s why according to Hebrews 1 and what we’re going to see in GEN – the human race was actually elevated higher than angels.

Even though the angels can do a lot of things that we can’t do now like fly and walk through walls – we are still greater than them because of our union with Jesus Christ.

Positionally we are greater than the angels right now and someday we will be experientially greater as well.

Do we ever hear that the angels were created in the image and the likeness of God? --  Of course not.

Here was an inferior form of creation who, unlike angels, could not travel through space, who was limited in power and vision and who was confined to one small planet, yet this creature was made in the image and likeness of God (Gen 1:27).

For in Gen 1:27, And God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female  He created them.

The ones who were last are now becoming first.

GEN 1:28  And God blessed them; and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky, and over every living thing that moves on the earth."

God said that to inferior creatures called “man” -- He never said that to any of the angels.

By the way, in spite of the fact that angels seem to be a superior creation, -- we never read that they were made in the image of God, as we are.

Do you know that we are made higher than the angels?

We do when we see ourselves as who we really are in our position with Christ.

Angels could never say that they are in union with Christ.

Angels could never say that they are part of the body of Christ.

Angels could never say that they are the bride of Christ.

Angels could never say any of those thing - and yet we tend to think that - we are less than angels..

Why is it that TLJC became a member of the human race and not the angelic race?

For in JOH 1:1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

And then in JOH 1:14  And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Also, we read in HEB 1:1 God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways,  After God spoke to father Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and the prophets of the OT which we have seen quite a bit of.

HEB 1:2  in these last days  has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world.

Notice that the scripture says that In these last days, God has spoken to us by means of His Son.

Whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world.

And notice that in HEB 1:3 we are told that God the Son, TLJC is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature.

What this passage is saying is so awesome: The Message Bible says that this Son perfectly mirrors God, and is stamped with God's nature.  think about that.

Now -- if the Son perfectly mirrors God and is stamped with God’s nature and you and I are in union with Him – Jesus Christ – God the Son - - - how much better than that can we ever get? --- I think its safe to say – YOU CAN’T GET BETTER THAN THAT!!!

The bible says that you and I perfectly mirror God and we are stamped with the nature of God because we are in union with Christ!

Everything that the Lord is – we are also… Why?

----because the bible says that we are in union with Him.

That’s why Jesus Christ is in HEB1:3  And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature [deity of Christ]; and He upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high

And when He sat down at the right hand of God that is when Jesus Christ was given a reward.

When He sat down at the right hand of God that is when Jesus Christ received His third royal title, the King of kings and the Lord of lords, and that's when the angelic conflict shifted gears into its intensified stage.

Now if Jesus Christ is the King of kings and the Lord of lords and we are in union with Him,  --- what does that make us?

That makes us kings – makes us lords because of who and what He is!

And we don’t always look at ourselves like that…

We take that for granted because we don’t see or take time to see what the word of God has to say about the first shall become last and the last shall become first

--- and until we start to live as children of the only God and in union with His Son – our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,

----and until we live our lives as who we truly are in union with Christ and until we realize Jesus Christ is not just Savior of our souls but He is Lord of lives – than we will be right where we are supposed to be in the plan of God for our lives and the only way to accomplish that is to make Jesus Christ Savior of your soul and Lord of your life, --  if you haven’t already made Jesus Christ Savior of your soul you can do that right now --  in your own space, no matter where you are or what you are doing all you have to do is simply take a moment to acknowledge that you know that Jesus

And we don’t always look at ourselves like that…

Because we look at things through human viewpoint and we don’t look at things through divine viewpoint.

And that’s why satan wants to blind us from who and what we really are.

And the day that you can look in the mirror and say I am somebody --- If I am what I am by the grace of God than I should start living like that.

If the bible says I am in Christ and theres no condemnation for those who are in Christ than I’m not going to condemn myself!

If the bible says greater is He who is within me than he who is in the world than Im gonna believe that.

If the bible says If I am what I am by the grace of God than im gonna start living in His grace and im gonna look in the mirror and say I am somebody!

And no matter what we are facing in this life, we may be falling apart, or under some form of discipline or underserved suffering but we can know that on that last day, that last day when you become absent from your physical body – your going to be face to face with the Lord Jesus Christ and death is not something we should live in fear of!

The point is that God seems to always save the best for last.

That's why I believe that death, which most individuals live in fear of, is actually not the desert of life but the dessert of life.

Why do I believe that?

Because in HEB 2:14, we are told that through death our Lord  rendered powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil;

It’s right there in HEB 2:14 satan keeps people in bondage because of their fear of death when in reality all they are doing is living in fear of dessert!!

The devil uses death to scare us of that which is uncertain to us.

However, God's word says in ECC 7:1 the day of one's death is better than the day of one's birth.

The point is that being in union with Christ, we are now positionally superior to angels.

However, we cannot take advantage of our position now on earth unless we live in the PPOG designed for us in eternity past by God the Father.
