The Deity of God the Holy Spirit. Pastor Rick Bettez.

Every new Bel should immediately get acquainted with who God the Holy Spirit truly is, what His power and responsibilities are inside the PPOG and just how much this will impact their spiritual walk. After salvation the new Bel had better get to know just how important and unique God the Holy Spirit is!

Gen 1:26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

Gen 11:7 “Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, so that they will not understand one another’s speech.”

Gen 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

2Cor 13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.

(Coequal deity & authority)

Mat 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,

Rom 5:1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

Rom 5:5 and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Joh 14:16I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever;

(Eternal security- not HE will be with until you sin or fail.)

1Joh 3:23 This is His (Father) commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us. 24 The one who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. We know by this that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.

Isa 6:8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord (Adonay), saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I. Send me!”9 He said, “Go, and tell this people: ‘Keep on listening, but do not perceive; Keep on looking, but do not understand.’

Act 28:25 And when they did not agree with one another, they began leaving after Paul had spoken one parting word, “The Holy Spirit rightly spoke through Isaiah the prophet to your fathers,

Jer 31:33“But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days,” declares the LORD (Yĕhovah), “I will put My law within them and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God (elohiym), and they shall be My people.

Heb 10:15 And the Holy Spirit also testifies to us; for after saying, 16 “THIS IS THE COVENANT THAT I WILL MAKE WITH THEM AFTER THOSE DAYS, SAYS THE LORD: I WILL PUT MY LAWS UPON THEIR HEART, AND ON THEIR MIND I WILL WRITE THEM,” He then says, 17 “AND THEIR SINS AND THEIR LAWLESS DEEDS I WILL REMEMBER NO MORE.”

1Cor 12:11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills.

1Cor 2:10 For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God.

1Co 2:11 For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God.

Gen 1:2 The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters.

Psa 139:7 Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?

2Cor 3:17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

The Holy Spirit had a special ministry of divine revelation to Old Testament Bels; primarily, but not exclusively, to those who had the gift of prophesy. The Spirit had a ministry to every writer of Old Testament Scripture. Every writer (O.T./N.T.) was controlled by the Spirit in what he wrote.

2Pet 1:20 But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation, 21 for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.

2Tim 3:16All Scripture is God-breathed (theopneustos), and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for training which is righteousness, 17 so that the man of God may be proficient, equipped for every good work.”

The inhale:  God the Holy Spirit communicated to human authors (certain positive Bels) the complete and coherent message for both that generation and for all future generations. Nothing left out or to be added onto once complete.

Jer 1:9 “Then the Lord (God the Holy Spirit) stretched out His hand and touched my mouth and said to me, `Behold, I have put words in your mouth.’

Mar 12:36 “David himself said by means of the Holy Spirit, `The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit down at My right hand until I put your enemies beneath your feet.”’

Act 28:25 And when they did not agree with one another, they began leaving after Paul had spoken one parting word, “The Holy Spirit rightly spoke through Isaiah the prophet to your fathers,

(The exhale:  the human authors wrote down in their own language the divine message from God.)

God so supernaturally directed the writers of Scriptures, that without waving their human intelligence, their vocabulary, personality, literary style, feeling, or any other human factor, His own complete and coherent message to mankind was recorded with perfect accuracy in the original languages of Scripture, the vary words bearing the authority of divine authorship.

The TORAH- (First 5 books) This was written by Moses.

The NABIIM, which includes Joshua, Samuel, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Hosea, Joel, Zachariah.

The KETHUBIM, which means “the writings.” David, Solomon, Daniel, Ezra, Nehemiah.

“sit down at My right hand until I make your enemies the footstool for Your feet.” (Psa 110:1, Mat 22:44, Mar 12:36, Luk 20:42, Act 2:34, Heb 1:13)

We share in His victory and Royal titles and authority are all part of our blessings and rewards just for being a Bel!

Therefore, because we are royalty, God the Holy Spirit does more for us at salvation than for Bels of any other dispensation. Efficacious grace that regenerates us with a new spirit that has eternal life. In doing so a union with Christ is solidified which opens up the flood gates for escrow blessings.

God the Holy Spirit gives us the power source to execute the plan of God, the ministry of the filling of the Holy Spirit. Old Testament saints relied upon faith and applying the word of God to the best of their ability.

The Shekinah glory appearing in front of the nation of Israel was the shadow of what was to come in the Church age. The indwelling power of God the Holy Spirit is our guide now, and the tabernacle is no longer a tent on the ground but a permanent spiritual structure housing the Trinity.

God the Holy Spirit provides a spiritual gift to function in as a member of the body of Christ. He guarantees our escrow blessings and eternal security, by the sealing ministry of the Spirit.

Every Bel is indwelt by the Holy Spirit and cannot lose that indwelling. The filling power is a source of spiritual power that can fluctuate in a Bels life due to operating in the Old Sin Nature. This filling power only has strength when it has Bible Doctrine feeding it.

Having Bible Doctrine circulating (consistently) in your soul is one of the key elements for growing in God’s plan. Otherwise you are like a soldier in combat who has a weapon with no ammunition.

In all dispensations the Holy Spirit is the agent of regeneration. In the Church Age the Holy Spirit does much more for the royal family than He did for the Bel in the Old Testament, or will do for the Bels in the Millennium. In the Old Testament the power of the Holy Spirit was unique to leaders, prophets and certain circumstances.

The Holy Spirit may be quenched or grieved in the Church Age, but He continues to indwell every Bel. Sin neutralizes the filling of the Holy Spirit until rebound (washing ourselves clean) occurs. The filling power is dependent on fellowship with God the Father which is impeded upon when sin enters the scene.
