2. Demon influence
3. Psychological living = life without God or the lifestyle of real spiritual death.
It is gentle and reasonable, overflowing with mercy and blessings, NOT hot one day and cold the next, not two-faced.
Those who are under psychological living are under the function of worldly thinking, motivation, decision making and actions of the cosmic system.
The protection of the unbeliever is first of all his volition; he does have a free will.
One of the easiest ways for the unbeliever to live in Satan’s cosmic system is to reject the laws of divine establishment.
This leads to a tremendous involvement in Satan’s first cosmic power system, the satanic philosophy or arrogance.
Because of the indwelling of all three members of the godhead the believer cannot be demon possessed.
However, the believer can be under demon influence.
Demon influence is the invasion of the soul with satanic propaganda.
The pride of life refers to the arrogant pattern of life which is not of the Father but the cosmos.
In 1Co 10, Satan has designed a counterfeit communion table designed to lure the believer away from living in the PPOG and to distract him from God’s real purpose.
You cannot have it both ways, banqueting with the Master one day and slumming with demons the next.
Spirituality and carnality are mutually exclusive.
The Spirit makes it clear that as time goes on, some are going to give up on the faith and chase after demonic illusions put forth by professional liars.
The latter times refers to the latter days of any dispensation or godly nation.
Rejection of Bible doctrine leads to involvement in Satan’s cosmic system – either psychological living or demonization of the soul will be the order of the day.
Doctrines from demons = demon influence or the demonization of the soul resulting in psychological living or human viewpoint.
PSA 23:3 “He restores my soul;”
PSA 19:7 The doctrine of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.
The life of every believer is determined experientially by two principles: what he thinks and what he decides.
Divine viewpoint mental attitude is part of the greatest delegations of divine power in human history.
Whether it is the lusts of the have-not’s or the dissatisfaction of those who have, there is a general unrest today which merely reflects one very important fact: Believers in TLJC have failed in the dynamic of the divine viewpoint of life.
MIC 4:12 “But they do not know the thoughts of the Lord, And they do not understand His purpose;”
ROM 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,
Satan has so many distractions today to deaden thinking so that born again believers become mindless imbeciles, struggling through life looking for some emotional experience to pull them through.
Your life comes to be what you think, not how you feel, not following the emissaries of Satan, for he is the ruler of this world at the present time.
LUK 12:37 “Blessed are those slaves whom the master shall find on the alert when he comes;”
ACT 20:31 “Therefore be on the alert, remembering that night and day for a period of three years I did not cease to admonish each one with tears.”
1CO 16:13 Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.
COL 4:2 Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving;
1TH 5:6 so then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober.
1PE 5:8 Be of sound mind, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
Our Lord’s development of power in His humanity came from mental attitude not personality functioning.
He was full of grace, grace orientation and truth, doctrinal orientation, JOH 1:14.
JOH 1:14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.
So great was the power of His mental attitude that when He was on the cross receiving the judgment of every sin, past, present and future, of every member of the human race –
He still had the happiness of God.
COL 3:2 “Keep thinking objectively about the things above [divine viewpoint – metabolized doctrine in the soul, the ten problem-solving devices] not on things on the earth.â€
The problem-solving devices are application skills of the spiritual life.
1) Toward God, Fellowship with the Holy Spirit, Personal love toward God the Father, and occupation with Christ are the problem-solving devices directed toward God.
2) The problem-solving devices directed toward people include: grace orientation, doctrinal orientation, impersonal love for all mankind.
3) The problem-solving devices directed toward self include: rebound, a personal sense of destiny, doctrinal orientation, the faith-rest drill, sharing the happiness of God.
It is the same consistency of thinking that provides true capacity for life, so that you face undeserved suffering; you are just as happy as when you are in fantastic prosperity.
Doctrinal thoughts have been thought thousands of times, but to make them truly ours, we must think them over and over again until they take root in our personal experience.
1JO 5:19 We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.
REV 12:9 Satan deceives the whole world;
MAT 10:16 “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; therefore be shrewd as serpents, and innocent as doves.”
Our warfare in the spiritual life is neither physical nor fleshly; it is spiritual and therefore in the mentality of our soul.
“The weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh” = our weapons are not based upon a system of human viewpoint like defense mechanisms.
