Point 1. Definition.
a. Fear = a mental attitude sin, characterized by panic when in a dangerous situation as well as intimidation.
1JO 4:18 There is no fear in virtue-love; but mature love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not matured in love.
It’s not death that a man should fear, but he should fear never beginning to live.
b. Fear is used in the Bible for reverence, respect, or awe.
Fear is also lack of thinking under pressure.
For the believer, fear is failure to learn and apply Bible doctrine to the problems of life, and failure to learn and utilize the problem-solving devices.
ROM 14:23b “Whatever is not from faith is sin.”
Fear defeats more people than any other one thing in the world.

…according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience… EPH 2:2
“We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one [Satan’s cosmic systems of thinking].” 1JO 5:19

Something that is worthless, trivial, hollow, and selfish
Many believers in Christ think they are pursuing a lifestyle of freedom when in reality they are in TOTAL bondage… this refers even to believers in Christ who are in bible class every night.

What is the “highest and best” God planned for you as a believer in Christ in eternity past?
It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm (in the freedom) and do not be subject again (ever) to a yoke of slavery. GAL 5:1

…and (Jesus Christ tasted death so He) might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives. HEB 2:15
For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!” ROM 8:15
For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God. ROM 8:20-21
But it was because of the false brethren secretly brought in, who had sneaked in to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, in order to bring us into bondage. GAL 2:4
So also we, while we were children, were held in bondage under the elemental things of the world. GAL 4:3
For we know that the Law is spiritual, but I am of flesh, sold into bondage to sin. ROM 7:14
For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. ROM 1:20
Unbelievers will go to the Lake of Fire for one reason only…because they rejected the CLEARLY SEEN ONE, the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” PSA 14:1
…and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved. 2TH 2:10
For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. ROM 1:21
For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. ROM 1:25
A QUOTE FROM AN UNBELIEVER
“I don’t want to become a Christian because of Christians!”

YES!!!!!!
You are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read by all men; being manifested that you are a letter of Christ, cared for by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts. 2CO 3:2-3
For, I think, God has exhibited us apostles last of all, as men condemned to death; because we have become a spectacle to the world, both to angels and to men. 1CO 4:9
The fact that you were born condemned is not your fault, but it is your circumstance…
And you were (born spiritually) dead in your trespasses and sins… EPH 2:1
Therefore you WILL choose to commit personal sins in your lifetime and you will visit the cosmic system of thought, sometimes for prolonged periods of time…
If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us… 1JO 1:8
Stop blaming your choices on your sin nature… it’s worse than blaming your parents for being the way you are… your sins are your choice…
Stop worrying about doing life right… how can you live a blessed, privileged, and opportunistic life if you are spending all your time obsessing about whether or not you’re doing life right?
Laugh at yourself when you sin…because it is not that you sin…it’s that you realize you have a way of escape from the sin nature and personal sinning…
“But if we judged ourselves rightly, we would not be judged.” 1CO 11:31
Realize that God considers your problems His responsibility…
Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. 1PE 5:6-7
Consider that when you screw up, it’s normal…
Consider yourself a hypocrite

As you mature in the Christian Walk, you have to love what you are and what you are not.
