Arizona Conference 2009. Part 4.
PSA 56:4 In God, whose word I praise, In God I have put my trust; I shall not be afraid. What can mere man do to me?
Point 2. The Snowballing Principle of Fear.
First of all, the more things you surrender to fear, the more things you fear.
Irrationality means loss of identity, which means the accumulation of fear until you are afraid of life.
PSA 53:5 “There they were in great fear where no fear had been;”
So the extent to which you surrender to fear, the greater is your capacity for fear.
Fear destroys happiness.

God measures everything, from start to finish, by the perfections of His Son.
This means that we learn how to operate in the tenth problem solving device, occupation with the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ.
1. Our Position in Christ – “SIT” (EPH 2:6)
2. Our Life in the World – “WALK” (EPH 4:1)
3. Our Attitude to the Enemy – “STAND” (EPH 6:11)
Sit, Walk, and Stand.
There is the Cross of Sit.
There is the Cross of Walk.
There is the Cross of Stand.
There is the Cross of Sit.
John 19:30 Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.
With respect to our sitting in the Christian way of life, the cross appears as the finished work of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the cross.
We rest in the things He accomplished for us by His spiritual death on the cross.
We rest in the fact of our redemption.
We rest in the fact of our justification.
We rest in the fact of our election and predestination, and ultimate glorification by the Hand of God.
There is the Cross of our Walk.
Luke 9:23 And He was saying to them all, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me.”
But He asks us to take up our cross daily, so that is something we ARE to do.
There comes a time when you have to take stock, and be honest about this walk with the Lord.
Luke 9:23 And He was saying to them all, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me.”
We are the people of the cross whether we like it or not! The Church is born crucified.
Our walk in love is based on the cross, where Jesus Christ gave Himself up for us as an offering and sacrifice to God.
ISA 53:10 But the LORD was pleased to crush Him, putting Him to grief; if He would render Himself as a guilt offering, He will see His offspring, He will prolong His days, and the good pleasure of the LORD will prosper in His hand.
NUM 28:2 “Command the sons of Israel and say to them, ‘You shall be careful to present My offering, My food for My offerings by fire, of a soothing aroma to Me, at their appointed time.’”
Christ’s work on the cross revealed something about His soul. In Christ’s willingness to suffer on account of love, the Father smelled the fragrant aroma of His own character and nature.
HOS 6:6 For I delight in loyalty rather than sacrifice, And in the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.
It was the demonstrated understanding of Who His Father really was.
The fragrant aroma was mature virtuous love which manifests itself in obedience.
GEN 22:12 He said, “Do not stretch out your hand against the lad, and do nothing to him; for now I know that you fear [respect & obey] God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.”
