The believers responsibility part 1.

Thursday, August 20, 2009

Do you live in a certain way because you have already been set right or because you are trying to be set right?

“The trouble with Christians is two-fold: they cannot learn Bible doctrines that are too complicated, and they forget Bible doctrines that are too simple.”

Marcus Aurelius :
“Our life is what our thoughts make it.”

Most people think of their lives in terms of the pleasure or fun they can have, or something they associate with happiness. People today have gone absolutely pleasure mad.

The Christian way of life is not overt “stuff”; rather it is the thought content of the soul. Often times the building of the right thought content is manifest on the back of suffering, both deserved and undeserved.

It is knowledge of doctrine and the subsequent virtue of Christ that it produces which makes a strong man or woman of God.

Notice that there is nothing here about the avoidance of sin or the removal of sin. There is nothing here about removing anything. Everything in the plan of God is about an addition to your life.

Without the filling of the Spirit, the truths of the word of God go unknown by the believer and the Bible becomes a list of isolated ideas that have no connection to one another.
