California Conference 2004. The Church of Thyatira, Part 4.

For believers who live their lives in the PPOG, there is nothing but blessing, spiritual growth both in time and eternity.

For the believer who lives in the cosmic system, there is self-induced misery from wrong decisions, followed by warning discipline, followed by the intensification of divine punishment, and eventuating under maximum divine punishment for the believer – the sin unto death.

HEB 12:11 All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.

Verse 23 – accusative plural direct object – teknon – children, a child in relationship to father and mother or descendants; it also means students, because of the authority principle.

With pestilence – preposition en – e*n + instrumental – thanatoo – qanavtw = by means of death.

ISA 57:1 The righteous man perishes, and no man takes it to heart; And devout men are taken away, while no one understands. For the righteous man is taken away from the evil to come,

To learn by seeing someone else destroyed.

JOH 6:35 “I am the bread of life;”
JOH 6:41 “I am the bread that came down out of heaven.”
JOH 6:51 “I am the living bread”
JOH 8:12 “I am the light of the world”
JOH 8:18 “I am He who bears witness of Myself”

JOH 10:7 “I am the door of the sheep.”
JOH 10:14 “I am the good shepherd”
JOH 11:25 “I am the resurrection and the life;”
JOH 14:6 “I am the way, and the truth, and the life;”
JOH 15:1 “I am the true vine”

The ten I am’s of the Gospel of John – ten represents the number of completion of the divine order, and TLJC was completely identifying Himself as the great I am.

Minds – nephros = the emotions.

JER 11:20 But, O Lord of hosts, who judges righteously, Who tries the feelings and the heart,

JER 17:10 I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give to each man according to his ways, According to the results of his deeds.

PSA 7:9 O let the evil of the wicked come to an end, but establish the righteous; For the righteous God tries the hearts and minds.

He tests the right lobe where we think, He tests the emotions, which either respond or control the soul.

Happiness from life in the PPOG, or unhappiness from life in the cosmic system, are reflected in each one of us emotionally.

Emotion can respond to doctrine, or emotion can react to doctrine.

Emotion without thought is always, inevitably, arrogance.

Emotion responds to thought, but cannot replace thought, when emotion replaces thought, you have arrogance.

Inside the PPOG, emotion responds to thought.
Inside the cosmic system, emotion dominates thought, or replaces thought.

People whose emotions are out of control, are miserable, unhappy people, and will never change, apart from getting the emotions back in control, and that is life in the PPOG.

Emotion is part of the essence of the soul.
MAT 22:37 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul,

Normally the emotion is to be dominated by the right lobe of the soul – by the mentality.
Abnormally the emotion rules the mentality, this is when neurosis and psychosis set in.

Emotion has two functions in life as a part of the soul: a normal and an abnormal function.

The other parts of the soul include self-consciousness, volition, and the two frontal lobes, the mind and the heart.

Emotion is the female part of the soul and responds to the right lobe or the heart – the male part.

Category two love, right man, right woman, is taught in the Bible to illustrate the relationship between the emotion and the right lobe.

As the emotion is to respond to the heart, the right woman is to respond to her right man.

The right lobe (heart) possesses a frame of reference – designed for thought, the memory center, vocabulary and categorical storage, the conscience, the momentum department, the wisdom department, and the subconscious.

Inside the right lobe of the soul is everything that should dominate emotion so that emotion can become what it was designed to be by God, an appreciator of things.

Koilia and nephros – used for the emotions = something that is empty, or hollow, or feelings.

Emotion is something empty and a part of you waiting to respond, not react.
Emotions contain no doctrine, no thought, no common sense, and no ability to reason.

By definition, the emotions are the appreciator of the soul.
By function, the emotions were designed to respond to the right lobe.

It is like an empty bag lined with sensitivity.

Just like the female is not designed to dominate the male, though some do, emotion is not designed to assume authority over the soul, but is designed to be dominated by the right lobe.

Emotional revolt produces love in areas that are against the Word of God.

Capacity for love and life is related to the right lobe, thought, not the emotions.

English words used to describe the emotions include: bowels, belly, and reins.

GEN 43:30 And Joseph made haste; for his bowels did yearn upon his brother: and he sought where to weep; and he entered into his chamber, and wept there.

1KI 3:26 Then spake the woman whose the living child was unto the king, for her bowels yearned upon her son,

SOS 5:4 “My beloved put in his hand by the hole of the door, and my bowels were moved for him.”

JER 4:19 My bowels, my bowels! I am pained at my very heart; my heart maketh a noise in me;

PHI 1:8 For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ.

Only in the right lobe, the kardia, exists the frame of reference, memory center, viewpoint, norms and standards, and doctrine.

Emotions are stimuli for action, and therefore must be regarded as a form of human energy.

The emotion of fear, also a sin, causes flight.
The emotion of disgust causes repulsion.
The emotion of anger causes violence.

Instincts are reflex behavior based on emotion rather than on thought.

MAT 27:46 “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?”

LUK 23:34 – He uttered “Father forgive them,” under great pain He asked for forgiveness for those who were giving Him the pain.

LUK 23:43 – He gives a promise to the dying thief –
And He said to him, “Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise.”

JOH 19:26-27 – He wanted to take care of His mother.

Under ordinary circumstances these things are noble, but He did this in the most extreme time of suffering in all of the human race.

Many believers today have become neurotic and psychotic simply because they have intruded into God’s plan with a human form of energy called emotion.

When emotion functions without thought, that is abnormal emotional activity – emotional instability.

Normal functions of the emotion include pleasure or entertainment, excitement, appreciation.

Emotion is related to human power and influence, but never to divine power and the mystery doctrine of the Church-age, which is the basis for fulfilling God’s will, plan, and purpose.
