PHI 2:1 Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion,
Phi 2:2 make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.
PHI 2:3 Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves;
PHI 2:4 do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.
PHI 2:5 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus,
PHI 2:6 who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped,
PHI 2:7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men.
PHI 2:8 Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
PHI 2:9 For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name,
PHI 2:10 so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
PHI 2:11 and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
EPH 5:1 Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; 2 and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.
EPH 5:3 But immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints;
EPH 5:4 and there must be no filthiness and silly talk, or coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks.
EPH 5:5 For this you know with certainty, that no immoral or impure person or covetous man, who is an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.
EPH 5:6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.
EPH 5:7 Therefore do not be partakers with them;
8 for you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light
EPH 5:9 (for the fruit of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth),
10 trying to learn what is pleasing to the Lord.
EPH 5:13 But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light.
EPH 5:14 For this reason it says,
“Awake, sleeper, And arise from the dead,
And Christ will shine on you.”
EPH 5:15 Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise,
EPH 5:16 making the most of your time, because the days are evil.
Eph 5:17 So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit,
EPH 5:19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord;
EPH 5:20 always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father;
EPH 5:21 and be subject to one another in the fear of Christ.
EPH 3:17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth,
EPH 3:19 and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.
PHI 1:20 according to my earnest expectation and hope, that I will not be put to shame in anything, but that with all boldness, Christ will even now, as always, be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death.
PHI 1:21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
2PE 1:2-3 "Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord, for His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence."
1CO 11:31 But if we judged ourselves rightly, we would not be judged.
1CO 12:12 For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ.
1CO 12:13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.
1CO12:14 For the body is not one member, but many.
We are called out as Royal Family Members, to live our lives for others with eternity in view!
1CO 7:22 For he who was called in the Lord while a slave, is the Lord’s freedman; likewise, he who was called while free, is Christ’s slave.
A principle - For someone to be truly free and experience the abundant life that God has prepared for them from ages past, one must become a prisoner to TLJC.
One must believe the Truth, gain the TRUTH, live in the TRUTH, and then That TRUTH will set you free. And that truth is the unchanging Word of God - Bible Doctrine.
ROM 8:15 For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!”
MAL 3:16 Then those who feared the LORD spoke to one another, and the LORD gave attention and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who fear the LORD and who esteem His name.
The fact of Glorifying God in our bodies should be our ultimate goal; by not forsaking ourselves from gathering together and reach for the things of eternity, which is found in Unity, HEB 10:25.
HEB 10:25 not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.
The temporal worldly things that we see around us every day, for those things and that stuff, will be taken away or fade to “moth and rust”, MAT 6:20.
MAT 6:20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal;
When you evaluate your Spiritual life, change your thinking, and start to rebuild, (It is a fantastic experience,) the Strength of your life will return, PHI 4:13.
PHI 4:13 I can do all things through Him who keeps pouring His strengthen into me.
ECC 4:12 And if one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart.
Unity is described as:
- The state of being one; oneness
- Oneness of mind, as among a number of persons; concord, harmony, or agreement
-The state or fact of being united or combined into one, as of the parts of a whole; unification.
Selfish = seeking or concentrating on one’s own advantage, pleasure, or well-being without regard for others
Unity of though and action that can lead to one specific goal.
In the Spiritual life, it is Glorification of TLJC through discipline and love.
PSA 133:1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is
For brothers to dwell together in unity!
JOH 17:22 The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one;
JOH 17:23 I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me.
EPH 4:12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ;
EPH 4:13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.
Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
COL 3:12 So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience;
COL 3:13 bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you.
COL 3:14 Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.
COR 3:15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful.
DEU 6:5 You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.
MAT 22: 37 And He said to him, “ ‘YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.’
38 This is the great and foremost commandment.
MAR 12:30 AND YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH.’
- Personal love for God the Father and Occupation with the Person of Christ as motivational virtue.
- Impersonal, unconditional, self-sacrificial love for all mankind as functional virtue.
Unity also demands a positive attitude towards doctrine.
Unity demands self-sacrifice on the part of each individual member of the team! GAL 2:20, PHI 3:8.
GAL 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
PHI 3:8 More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ,
COL 2:20 If you have died with Christ to the elementary principles of the world, why, as if you were living in the world, do you submit yourself to decrees,
COL 3:1 Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
COL 3:2 Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.
COL 3:3 For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
Col 3:4 When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.
COL 3:15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful.
GAL 6:10 So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all men, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.
