PSD #1 Rebound is the confession of known sins to God and a grace function, requiring no overt works by the believer such as feeling  sorry for your sins; 1Jo 1:9; Jer 3:13; Psa 32:5.

PSD # 2.  The Filling Of The Spirit . which is the first time in history when all believers are indwelled by the Holy Spirit and are commanded to be filled with the Spirit.

PSD #3: The Faith-Rest Drill = which entails claiming a promise made by God in the Scriptures and then relying (resting upon) God to fulfill His promise, HEB 4:1-2, 4:10-11; Rom 4:1-7.

Here is the importance of the application of doctrine whereby once you hear the promises of God then you need to rest in those promises and wait for God to fulfill them.

Faith-rest is that function of the believer in which he utilizes Bible doctrine, Bible principles, Bible promises — everything he has ever learned about the Bible.

The mechanics of faith-rest are found in Hebrews 4:1-3.

This is the part where we claim certain promises, utilize certain doctrines, and mix them with our faith to launch them.

Faith is the launcher and doctrine in the launching pad is actually fired by means of faith.

EPH 6:16  in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming missiles of the evil one.

First of all, one of the first mentioned principles concerning the faith-rest life is found in GEN 15:6.

GEN 15:2, Abram said, "O Lord God, what wilt Thou give me, since I am childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?"

GEN 15:6  Then he [Abram] believed in the Lord; and He [the Lord] reckoned it [or imputed  it] to him as righteousness, that is +H].

  1. When it says that Abram believed in the Lord, the word believe is the Hebrew verb aman which means to use God as a foundation, to lean on Him, to begin with who He is.

  1. Secondly, there is David in Psa 37:1-7, especially PSA 37:3-4, Trust in the Lord, and do good; Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, and He will do it.

The Hebrew verb “batach” was originally used for two wrestlers fighting when one picks up the other and slams him down to the ground.

This word came to mean "to pick up your troubles and slam them on the Lord."

  1. Then there is the prophet Isaiah who in ISA 26:3-4 said, "The steadfast of mind Thou wilt keep in perfect peace, Because he trusts in Thee. "Trust in the Lord forever, For in God the Lord, {we have} is an everlasting Rock.

The Hebrew verb for trust is chacah (khaw-saw) meaning to flee as a rabbit and hop in a cleft when an enemy is chasing you, Christ is the cleft or the Rock where you hide.

  1. In Job 13:15, Job said "Though He slay me, I will hope in Him.

The word hope is jachal which means to  wait and trust in extreme pain even though you may be miserable.

  1. In ISA 40:31 Those who “wait” for the Lord Will gain new strength; They will mount up {with} wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.

"Those who “wait” for the Lord is the Hebrew verb quveh which is used of making rope little by little until it develops a strong rope.

It has the connation of taken one strand of thread at a time and keep on adding more and more thread until it becomes a strong rope.

The application is that you and I learn to trust in the baby promises until they add up to a strong rope which are the Doctrinal Rationales or the Essence of God rationales.

Keep trusting God in those little areas and watch them add up to being able to trust God in greater areas.

This is when you believe God to come through in the little areas and after doing it enough times it develops into faith-rest in the Doctrinal Rationals and the essence of God Rationals.

One little strand of thread was easy to break alone, It could faint, but as it is woven with other strands it becomes a rope which cannot be broken.

Even though we are weak little strands, we, through faith-rest, become gigantic powerful ropes.

Faith-rest is:

  1. Complete confidence and inner rest.
  2. A rest that is free from activity.
  3. A peace of mind.

Another meaning for rest is something used for support.

Faith-rest is a state in which believers have a relaxed mental attitude no matter what the situation may look like.

So, ***In Gen 14:14-16, we have a warning about failing in the Faith-rest life.

Abram heard that his relative had been taken captive, and so he led out his trained men, born in his house.

There were more than 118 members of Lot’s family that the KOD would have an easy prey with all of their logistics.,,,,and they did.

Prin: After spiritual victory we are very vulnerable to defeat (we have had many victories but Satan is a counter puncher) now between chapters 14 and 15 Abram begins to fall apart and starts to worry.

Worry is a sin in Rom 14:23, whatever is not from faith is sin."

Abram ended up failing the Faith-rest Test and had to deal with retaliation from his enemies; Gen 14:17.

Abram was worried about the king of Sodom retaliating against Him and his family.

Next, his earthly security was being threatened; Gen 14:21-24.

He worried next about the fact that he would have no heir; Gen 15:1-3.

So, he is in panic palace and worried about his heir if the families of the earth were going to be blessed by his seed; Gen 15:1-7.

Cure for worry begins with claiming the promises of God by means of using the faith-rest drill.

  1. Worry is a mental attitude sin which is self-induced and therefore soulish torment or anxiety regarding anything in life.

  1. Worry is a disquieting and painful state of mind involving undue concern over something in life.

  1. Therefore, worry separates the believer from his inner resources of grace and cuts off the reception of divine logistics.

  1. Worry is the way the supply line is cut, not by God, but thinking the wrong things, being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

  1. The answer to worry is living in the filling of the Spirit and walking in the Spirit as you advance in enemy territory, the devil's world.

  1. Worry always anticipates the worst, and so becomes apprehension or anticipation of danger, misfortune, trouble, or uncertainty.

  1. Worry is a state of restlessness and agitation, producing mental disturbance, uneasiness, anxiety, and painful uncertainty.

  1. Worry then short circuits the function of the faith-rest technique and causes the believer to be pinned down in no man's land.

If you get pinned down too long in no man's land you move into reversionism, and go backwards.

Then all of a sudden, they do the very same things they use to despise in others?

They fell into reversionism and began to go backwards.

You cannot afford to be pinned down and you cannot afford to retreat after you have reached the adult stage of the spiritual life!

Because the fall is great and the misery that follows is self-destructive.

If you retreat, you do not go back to your previous stage of spiritual growth, you're out of fellowship, you're out of the PPOG, you go back to reversionism.

Once you get out into no man's land, either you go forward and take the objective or you retreat into reversionism, as we have used the phrase in the past, you crash and burn.

Worry then, short-circuits the function of the faith rest technique.

  1. Worry is a destroyer of the soul. If unchecked, it results in mental illness.

Worry in the mind causes shock to the body, Pro 12:25  Anxiety in the heart of a man weighs it down, but a good word makes it glad.

  1. Worry unloads Bible doctrine from the launching pad of the souls' right lobe.

Instead of you having the ammunition that you need to handle the fiery darts of the wicked, worry just unloaded your ammunition.

Because of your love of self and for the Cosmic system or the system of the world.

Worry is a great weapon in the hands of Satan because the forces of evil take over the soul as a result of worry.

Worry makes you vulnerable to the enemies attack especially in no man's land.

More sacrifices of your time, talent, and treasure is lost when you reject the faith-rest life.

When the communication of Bible doctrine is no longer as important to you as it use to be, that's because Satan has caused a direct hit on the mentality of your soul.

Eph 6:16  in addition to all, [all of the items of military equipment noted so far] taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish [intercept and destroy] all the flaming missiles of the evil one.

  1. Counterfeit gospel, 2CO 4:3‑4.
  2. Counterfeit ministers, 2CO 11:13‑15.
  3. Counterfeit doctrine, 1TI 4:1.

  1. Counterfeit communion table, 1CO 10:19‑21.
  2. Counterfeit spirituality, GAL 3:2‑3.
  3. Counterfeit righteousness, MAT 19:16‑28.

  1. Counterfeit righteousness, MAT 23:13‑36.
  2. Counterfeit power and dynamics (miracles,

Healing, tongues) 2TH 2:8‑10.

  1. Counterfeit system of Gods, 2TH 2:3‑4.

False teachers are a part of the strategy of "the evil one." 1JO 4:1‑3.

They are bleeding heart do‑gooders, who "love" everyone, being all things to all men apart from any standards based on Bible doctrine; MAT 7:15.

They seek to stimulate your ego, work on your emotion and flatter and complement you;

ROM 16:18.

They use human public relations systems

and legalistic flirtation to court believers;

GAL 4:17‑18; 2TI 3:5‑7.

They appeal to human ego and arrogance and pride to distract believers from grace, 2CO 10:12.

They promote idolatry as a part of Satan's communion table, HAB 2:18‑19.

They promote legalism as a system of spirituality which we call pseudo‑spirituality;

1TI 1:7‑8.

They possess a false spirit; 1JO 4:1‑3.

They are inspirational and devotional but they do not function by the power of the Holy Spirit.

False teachers represent the attack of demon influence on the human soul as illustrated by

1TI 4:1.

False teachers utilize both legalism and activism to distract believers from cognition of bible doctrine, GAL 4:16-18, 2TI 3:5-7.

False teachers appeal to all forms of human arrogance, 2CO 10:12.

They promote all kinds of religion, 2TI 3:5.

The weapon systems of the devil also include Christian moral or immoral degeneracy or alternating between the two.

So, the primary target for the devil's flaming missiles is first of all, the essence of the human soul.

And *** The objective of Satan's weapon system is to eliminate and destroy any thought of God or Bible doctrine or the divine viewpoint of life.

ISA 26:3 “A sustained purpose you will guard in perfect prosperity, because he trusts in you [a believer who is advancing and who has doctrine resident in his soul].

ISA 26:4  Trust in Jehovah forever; for in Jehovah is a rock of ages.”

The production dynamics of faith-rest is described in numerous passages; MAT 21:22; MAR 11:24.

For example, *** Faith-rest is absolutely necessary for dynamics in prayer; MAT 21:22; MAR 11:24.

MAT 21:22  "And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive."

MAR 11:24  "Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they shall be {granted} you.

Everyone will face fear in their lifetime, fear of adversity, fear of danger, fear of death, and the #1 fear. Which is fear of public speaking.

There are many types of fear but faith-rest overcomes all of them — Psa 56:3.

Psa 56:3  When I am afraid, I will put my trust in Thee.

The overcoming of worry is the function of faith-rest life; 1PE 5:7.

In verse 5, the noun for younger men refers to both male and female.

Then in 1PE 5:7 we are told to cast all of our anxiety, worries,  and cares upon Him, because He cares for us.

We are also told to be on the alert because our adversary, the devil, prowls about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

By knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by our brethren who are in the world.

Then in 1PE 5:10, after we have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called us o His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen {and} establish us.

The benefit to others is also related to the faith-rest technique in Mat 8:13, where the centurion who came to Jesus asked Him to heal his son.

"Go your way; let it be done to you as you have believed [or you have operated in faith-rest]  nd the servant was healed that {very} hour.

Faith-rest is related to supergrace and occupation with the person of Christ; PSA 37:4-5.

You will have not only the capacity for life, not only all of the blessings necessary in the spiritual realm, but you will also have desires compatible with your station.

PSA 37:4  Delight yourself in the Lord; And He will give you the desires of your heart.

PSA 37:5  Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, and He will do it.

Faith-rest is the modus operandi of the royal priesthood; 1CO 2:5; 2CO 5:7.

Faith-rest is related to the victory of the angelic conflict; 1JO 5:4, “ … this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith.”

In the spiritual life, God does the work and the believer receives the reward, PHI 1:6.

The faith-rest drill also involves trusting in the character of God Who is faithful to the believer, DEU 7:9, 2TI 2:13, 1TH 5:24, 2TH 3:3.

PHI 1:6  For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.

DEU 7:9  "Know therefore that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God, who keeps His covenant and His lovingkindness to a thousandth generation with those who love Him and keep His commandments;

2TI 2:13   If we are faithless, He remains faithful; for He cannot deny Himself.

1TH 5:24  Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.|

2TH 3:3  But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.

JAM 4:6  But He gives a greater grace. Therefore it says, "God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble."

In Gen 14:14-16, we have a warning about failing in the Faith-rest life.

Abram heard that his relative had been taken captive, and so he led out his trained men, born in his house.

There were about a hundred and eighteen, and went in pursuit as far as Dan.

And he divided his forces against them by night, he and his servants, and defeated them.

He brought back all the goods, and also brought back his relative lot with his possessions, and also the women, and the people."

Abram’s mistake was when he brought back Lot, he brought back all of Lot’s trouble and family, including his wife, who became a pillar of salt.

Prin: After spiritual victory we are very vulnerable to defeat (we have had many victories but Satan is a counter puncher).

Please notice I said it is self-induced.
