Socialism advocates that production, distribution, and goods, services, be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.

Remember the Jews actually prayed 3 times a day. They had the morning and evening sacrifice 3rd hour and 9th hour and then a noon prayer service. So, this 9th hour would have been 3PM.

Peter is saying you know about miracles you also know Jesus did miracles why haven’t you or didn’t you put it all together.

The Romans – Gentiles – Jews - were all responsible. Romans would not have crucified Jesus without pressure from Jewish leaders. Jewish leaders could not have crucified Jesus without the Romans. The Gentiles like everyone else had sins that had to be forgiven.

In fact, it was our sin that put Jesus on the Cross. So, there is no excuse whatsoever, nor reason for anti-Semitism.

When one repents of their sin it doesn’t always mean that they feel bad or even sorry, you may, but repenting describes the act of turning around and changing.

By believing in the very one they put to death.

Peter said that GOD would wipe away our record of sin just like that. In fact, the LORD will cast it (that sin) as far as the east is from the west. The only sin that remains is the sin of unbelief in Christ the One who takes away that sin.

GOD sends times of refreshing to HIS people today. We should pray for and believe GOD for seasons of revival and refreshing. We are indwelled with the Spirit, how much more refreshing can it get.

All the prophets had one basic message. All pointed to the coming Messiah. Peter says you have this great promise all you need to do is believe. That hasn’t changed.

The same was true of the Jewish people Peter preached to. They expected the Messiah in a certain way, but GOD wanted to give them something much greater.

So, here is the police force of the day in the temple area. The captain of that force, together with the priests and the Sadducees all came together to arrest Peter and John.

To make it worse they were teaching the people that Jesus was resurrected from the dead; remember that the Sadducees did not believe in the after life or the resurrection at all. The main difference between Sadducees and Pharisees.

They were few in numbers. Opposed by the Jewish institutions that had existed for thousands of years. In fact, if you list all the enemies as it were in vs 1-6 there were 11 groups or individuals against them. 11 the number for lacking authority, false authority, one short of 12 perfect authority.

Oh someone might harass you to some degree because you are a Christian. But in many places in the world you not only get harassed, but they kill you.

They wanted the Apostles and the new Christians to know that they had the power to do the same thing to them, starting with Peter and John.

Again, keep in mind this is Peter who not too long ago had been afraid of a servant girl. But now Peter is filled with the HS and as such he is a new man. There is a lesson there for us as well.

You can’t be any clearer than that, Peter boldly says if you have a problem with us doing good and you want to know in who’s name we did (under whose authority) then fine we did it in the name of the LORD Jesus Christ the Messiah).

12 “And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”

GOD would obviously know the decision that one in that situation would make.
As for the child who dies before that age of accountability (whatever that age might be, different for each) well the Bible shows us that with Scripture.

“But now that the child is dead; why should I [continue to] fast (and mourn)? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him [when I die], but he will not return to me.”

Well, there was no way to deny the miracle had happened. Everyone had seen this this man who was completely lame. He had to be carried wherever he went. But, now he was completely healed.

This means the man was lame for 40 years, well all of his life. 40 is the number of learning, of patience, a distinct time period.

From PSA 146, a great start don’t you think? Starting just like David did when he wrote this Psalm. It is LORD Who created everything, that is where we must begin. Period.

So, Peter and John had good news to report. You can imagine how excited they were to tell the others that they got the opportunity to witness for Christ to the Jewish leadership. They had the platform, perhaps some of those listening to him believed upon their Messiah.

The word for Voice here is
(
fon nay) and it is in the singular. Meaning one person prayed and all agreed with that one prayer, so that they were really praying with that one voice.

Peter understood that the words of King David, recorded in PSA 2, were actually the words of the Lord God.

Again, this was a necessary attitude, they were a new Church, they had no Churches built yet. They would pool everything together for the advancement of the message of Christ. Not as a lifestyle.
