Communion – The first and last miracles of Christ.

April 1, 2012

1CO 11:27, Therefore whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner, shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord.

1 Pe 2:24, He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.

COL 1:13-14, For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,  in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.

37 miracles recorded for us.
7 were on the Sabbath.

The Lord Jesus Christ CREATES
which is verifying the claim that He is the creator.

The hour of the passion was soon to be at hand, the unstoppable chain of events that would lead to the Cross have now begun.

The wine represented the blood of Christ, no longer would the pots be needed to look forward with anticipation, the work on the Cross was to be the fulfillment of that representation.

Man would now be cleansed not by the water in the pots, but rather by His work on the Cross.

The beginning of the miracles shown to Moses was turning water into blood (EXO 4:9; 7:20),
The beginning of Christ’s miracles was turning water into wine;

JOH 18:10-11, Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. (The servant’s name was Malchus.) Jesus commanded Peter, “Put your sword away! Shall I not drink the cup the Father has given Me?”

HEB 12:2-3, Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Divine justice is as kind as it is powerful.
