The Angelic Conflict – Part 23 Outline

The Angelic Conflict – Part 23 –

The angelic conflict is the result of prehistoric creatures being in opposition to God which began with the fall of Satan and continued until all angelic creatures had made a decision for or against God.

Point 7. – The Courtroom Trial of the Angelic Conflict –

The chief antagonist in the angelic conflict is called Satan or the devil. Hebrew name = heylel = shining one or morning star.

Hebrew title = ha Satan = an attorney who slanders and gets away with it because of some legal loophole, an adversary.

Greek name = diabolos [devil] = an adversary, an attorney in opposition in law, or a slanderer.

Satan is constantly bringing accusations against believers into the Supreme Court of Heaven, ZEC 3:1; Rev 12:10, JOB 1:11; JOB 2:5.

REV 12:10 “the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, who accuses them before our God day and night.”

While the devil persecutes believers are earth, he prosecutes believers in heaven.

Satan uses rank and file demons who specialize in investigating members of the human race under satanic scrutiny.

ZEC 3:1 Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him.

ZEC 3:2 And the Lord said to Satan, “The Lord rebuke you, Satan! Indeed, the Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?”

ZEC 3:3-4 Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments and standing before the angel. And he spoke and said to those who were standing before him saying,

“Remove the filthy garments from him.” Again he said to him, “See, I have taken your iniquity away from you and will clothe you with festal robes.”

When Satan makes accusations against us, our Lord Jesus Christ acts as our defense attorney, with the doctrine of propitiation (satisfaction of God the Father with the work of Christ on the cross).

Propitiation = God is satisfied with the work of Jesus Christ on the cross regarding your past, your present and your future!

JOH 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And He bowed His head, and gave up His spirit.

After being judged for our sins our Lord said, “TETELESTAI.” “Finished in the past with the result that it stands finished forever.”

The intensive perfect refers to a completed action with emphasis on existing results of that past action.

HEB 8:12 “For I will be merciful to their iniquities, And I will remember their sins no more.” HEB 10:17 “And their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”

present state = salvation is available. past action = Jesus Christ was judged for our sins.

passive voice = Jesus Christ was being acted upon by God the Father, who imputed our sins to Jesus Christ and judged all of them.

The omnipotence of the Father imputed all our sins to Christ on the cross.

The justice of the Father judged every sin in human history.

The love of the Father offered salvation to anyone who would believe.

ROM 5:8 “God commends His love toward us in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died as a substitute for us.”

You can take absolutely zero credit for faith; none of us earn or deserve salvation.

The only condition for eternal life is non-meritorious personal faith in Jesus Christ, whose substitutionary spiritual death on the cross provided all the efficacious work for salvation.

Anytime anyone adds baptism or any system of works he has rejected the work of Christ on the cross.

PHI 3:18 – an enemy of the cross of Christ,

Under the law of double jeopardy, these sins cannot be re-tried in heaven or judged again; they have already been judged on the cross!

ROM 6:10 For the death that He died, He died to sin, once for all
