in the cause of the Gospel = [en to euangelio] = in the cause of the entire realm of doctrine.

God’s good news to unbelievers is called the Gospel.

PHI 4:3 “Indeed, I request also you, true Syzygus [genuine one who is a real man], to help or to assist these women who are of such quality and have fought by my side in the cause of the gospel, together with Clement also, and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life.”

Once you crack the maturity barrier and get to supergrace, one of your greatest dangers is personality conflict.

1. The tendency to react to those who are not serious about their relationship with God.

1CO 2:2 For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.

3. The danger of thinking that you are being overlooked in the local assembly and not being promoted.

LUK 14:11 “For everyone who exalts himself shall be humbled. And he who humbles himself shall be promoted.”

4. The danger of sentimentality toward family or friends.

To stay away from people and try to grow spiritually by yourself is a direct violation of EPH 4:11-16; 1CO 12:4-30; ROM 12:4-8.
