The days are coming," declares the Sovereign LORD, "when I will send a famine through the land - not a famine of food or a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the words of the LORD.

The Judge is GOD

LUK 13:11, And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself.

While Edom was too weak a nation to ever fight Judah on its own, Edom no doubt participated with other nations when the winds of change blew in its favor.

When people remove themselves from or place themselves in opposition to GOD and HIS people, they can expect judgment, rather than restoration, in the end.

That GOD sent a man named “worshipper of Yahweh” to the people of Edom was no mistake. Edom had been found guilty of pride and arrogance before the LORD.

PRO 16:18, “Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before stumbling.”

GEN 12:3, I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.“

Freedom,
Marriage,
Family,
Nationalism,
and taking care of the Gospel and Israel.

Beware of pride and arrogance, they go hand in hand. Pride means you think more highly of yourself than you ought to. And once you believe that then your arrogant.

When a mere man, a little creature down here on this earth gets to point in his life where he says, “I don’t need GOD,” GOD says, “That’s what I hate.” That’s what Esau and later his descendants did. And that goes for an individual as well as a congregation and a nation.

OBA 3, “The pride of your heart has deceived you, you who live in the clefts of the rocks and make your home on the heights, you who say to yourself, ‘Who can bring me down to the ground?’”

The prophet Obadiah prophesied judgment upon the nation of Edom for their pride, their arrogance, their Esau like attitude and of course for taking part in the destruction of Jerusalem. Again, by the Philistines and the by the Babylonians.

GEN 26:34, When Esau was forty years old, he married Judith daughter of Be eri the Hittite, and also Bose math daughter of Elone the Hittite.

Noah, the rain poured for 40 days, and submerged the world in water.
Moses on Mt. Sinai for 40 days and came down with the stone tablets.
The Jews arrived at Mt. Sinai as a nation of Egyptian slaves who had just been freed, but after 40 days they were transformed into GOD's nation.
Jesus was 40 days in the desert. Thus HE was now able to begin HIS ministry that changed the universe.

All tribes were known as Israelites. But not all Israelites are Jews. Jews were the citizens and descendants of the kingdom of Judah and they are Israelites. Since all 12 tribes are Israelites, including Jews, are descendants of their father Israel (Jacob), we can apply the term Israelite to all of the tribes. The term Jew, however, is accurate only for the tribes that were the kingdom of Judah.

MAL 1:4, Edom may say, “Though we have been crushed, we will rebuild the ruins.” But this is what the LORD Almighty says:
“They may build, but I will demolish. They will be called the wicked land, a people always under the wrath of the LORD.”

GEN 27:41, Esau bore a grudge against Jacob because of the blessing with which his father had blessed him; and Esau said to himself, “The days of mourning for my father are near; then I will kill my brother Jacob.”

PSA 137:7-9, Remember, O LORD, against the sons of Edom, the day of Jerusalem, who said, "Raze it,raze it, to its very foundation!"
O daughter of Babylon, who are to be destroyed, happy the one who repays you as you have served us! Happy the one who takes and throws your little ones against the rock!
