Unbelieving does not refer to an unbeliever; apistos means without faith or trust, unfaithful, faithless.
Qal imperfect shakab to have sex many times, the act was repeated more than once; also used for rape or forcing oneself upon another.
Bathsheba followed LEV 15:18 “if a man copulates with a woman, so that there is seminal emission, they shall both bathe in water and be unclean until evening.”
LEV 20:10 “If a man commits adultery with another man’s wife, the one who commits adultery with his friends wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall both be put to death.”
David’s conscience becoming hardened and seared toward the things of God is revealed by the fact that he brings a commander away from his unit and a combat situation.
A conscience that has been defiled and seared cares only for self.
REV 3:17 “You say, I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing, and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked,”
JOH 10:11 “I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.”
MAT 20:26 “Whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant,”
MAT 20:27 “and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be your slave;”
MAT 20:28 “the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve,”
Turn to Mark 8:1-7
MAT 7:6 “Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.”
1JO 3:16 “We know virtue-love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.”
