2SA 1:26, “I am distressed for you, my brother Jonathan; You have been very pleasant to me. Your love to me was more wonderful Than the love of women.

1 SA 18:1, And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking to Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was bound or tied with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.

JOH 15:13, “Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends”.

It denotes a deep love, it is the word used in GEN 37 Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his sons,

LEV 18:22, You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination.

ACT 13:22, After HE had removed him (Saul), HE raised up David to be their king, concerning whom HE also testified and said, ‘I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after MY heart, who will do all MY will.’

1SA18:1-5, Now it came about when he had finished speaking to Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit to the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as himself.
Then Jonathan made a covenant with David. Jonathan gave David his robe, his armor, including his sword and his bow and belt.
So, David went out wherever Saul sent him,
and prospered; and Saul set him over the men of war. And it was pleasing in the sight of all the people and also in the sight of Saul’s servants.

PRO 17:17 A friend loves at all times, And a brother is born for adversity.

  1. A true friend will never stab you in the back socially or economically or any other way.
    2. Your true friends will guard your privacy. They will not gossip or malign you.
  2. You can be honest with a true friend, you can level with them, and that is a part of you being faithful to them.

PRO 27:10, “Do not forsake your own friend or your father’s friend.”

  1. True friend sticks closer than a brother. Reliable friends are hard to find. PRO 20:6, Many will say they are loyal friends, but who can find one who is truly reliable?
  2. True friends strengthen and help each other. ECC 4:9-12, Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up…
  3. True friends help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out. But someone who falls alone is just real trouble.

JOH 15:13-15, There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for ones friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves.

Prin: That is why it is important that Believers develop friendships with those who are believers and have positive volition toward doctrine,

1CO 15:33, Do not be misled: Bad company corrupts good character.

PRO 19:6, “Many will entreat the favor of a generous man, and every man is a friend to him who gives gifts.”

PSA 12:2, “Everyone lies to their neighbor; they flatter with their lips but harbor deception in their hearts.”

A true friend rejoices with the success of their friend and suffers with their loses.

A true friend defends their friend.

True friendship, according to the Bible, involves loyalty, sacrifice, compromise, and yes, a deep emotional attachment.

Give us a human, a failed human, just like us…why did they want a human to judge them, they were saying:
They were saying, we don’t want the LORD, our creator…NO we want another fallen creature to judge us.

1SA 8:19-21, Nevertheless, the people refused to listen to Samuel. “No!” they said. “We must have a king over us. Then we will be like all the other Nations.

Give us a human, a failed human, just like us…why did they want a human to judge them, they were saying: They were saying, we don’t want the LORD, our creator…NO we want another fallen creature to judge us.

1CH 21:1, “Satan rose up against Israel and incited David to take a census of Israel”

Client Nation USA belongs to the LORD not them!
Never forget that as things go crazy as we get further along in the end times.

“When you take a census of the Israelites to count them, each one must pay the LORD a ransom for his life at the time he is counted.
Then no plague will come on them when you number them.”

So, don’t leave me to the hands of evil man, because hey, I am an evil man, I know what evil man with his OSN is capable of, we all do right?

When we give more and more power to the government we give less and less importance to GOD. Our founders sought for a small government that operated on the principles of the creator. We have wondered a dangerous way from that principle.

After years of pursuing David, Saul and Jonathan and two of his brothers die in a battle against the Philistines.

2SA 4:4 Now Jonathan, Saul’s son, had a son crippled in his feet. He was five years old when the report of Saul and Jonathan came from Jezreel, and his nurse took him up and fled.
And it happened that in her hurry to flee, he fell and became lame. And his name was Mephibosheth.

Again, this is akin to us, we have a plan for our life from the LORD, we are to inhabit that land, however there too there are enemies that want to keep it from us.

When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,
The moon and the stars, which You have ordained,
What is man that You are mindful of him,
And the son of man that You visit him?

Romans 5:12, Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned.

2SA 9:7, David said to him, “Do not fear, for I will surely show grace to you for the sake of your father Jonathan, and will restore to you all the land of your grandfather Saul; and you shall eat at my table regularly.

1PE 2:9, But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
