Betrayal is defined as an abandonment or a violation of trust, usually by someone close to one who is betrayed.
How do we deal with betrayal. How do we not let the effects of these trials tribulations persecutions and betrayal affect our daily lives, our spiritual walk?
And that’s the thing with betrayal. The closer the person who betrays you is the more the pain of the betrayal.
It would seem that that person (people like that) who betrayed a friend had become a slave for the price of a promotion.
We often seek to get even or make our betrayers suffer intensely for how they’ve wronged us. That is the OSN in us reacting rather than the new nature, if you’re a believer responding.
If we have been betrayed by someone close to us, and it is said that eventually we all will, to one degree or another, our first response should be to go to the LORD who not only loves us, but intimately understands betrayal.
We shouldn’t be surprised that some in our own family would betray us if one of Jesus’ handpicked apostles did the same to HIM.
Of course the real way to deal with this type of trouble is like all types of trials tribulations persecution and betrayal is to take our minds off of that situation and put our focus on Christ. If we keep on thinking about the situation, then it will often build up confusion, questions, frustration and anger.
Our LORD can calm the storms in our life. Both in the natural realm and the Spiritual realm.
In fact because HE knows betrayal, who better to understand the pain that it causes?
ROM 8:26, the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.
In the midst of your pain and hurt, go find a quiet place. Cry out to GOD. Allow GOD to help your pain and hurt.
LUK 23:34, Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”
This was said as those that HE would die for were dividing up his clothes and casting lots for them as HE hung naked before them.
– The saddest thing about betrayal is that it never comes from your enemies.
– The saddest thing about betrayal is that it never comes from your enemies.
– Forgiveness doesn’t excuse their behavior.
– The saddest thing about betrayal is that it never comes from your enemies.
– Forgiveness doesn’t excuse their behavior.
– Forgiveness prevents their behavior from destroying you.
– The saddest thing about betrayal is that it never comes from your enemies.
– Forgiveness doesn’t excuse their behavior.
– Forgiveness prevents their behavior from destroying you.
– People in your life will betray you; GOD will never will never betray or forsake you.
Job 19:19, My close friends detest me. Those I loved have turned against me.
Job 19:13-14, My relatives stay far away, and my friends have turned against me. My family is gone, and my close friends have forgotten me.
PSA 27:10, Even if my father and mother abandon me, the LORD cares for me.
LUK 22:56-61, A servant girl saw him sitting by the fire, and said, “This man was with him, too.” Peter denied it, “I don’t know him, woman!” Then a man looked at him and said, “You are one of them, too.” Peter said, “Mister, I am not!” Another man said, “This man was certainly with him, Peter said, “Mister, I don’t know what you’re talking about!” That’s when the rooster crowed. Then the LORD turned and looked straight at Peter.
1PE 2:23, He did not retaliate when he was insulted, nor threaten revenge when he suffered. HE left his case in the hands of GOD, who always judges fairly.
HEB 12:3, For consider Him (the LORD Jesus Christ) who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, so that you won’t grow weary and lose heart.
There is always a blessing in every trial. You will only find the blessing through the LORD. It is after all HIS story. Remember we are talking about trials, tribulations, persecution and betrayal
Rebound from initial reactions from the OSN.
Emotion must be controlled. Reacting rather than responding can lead to more trouble.
We rebound if needed and then we are filled with the Holy Spirit.
We then strengthen our Faith-Rest and we can align ourselves to GOD’s grace.
Grace Orientation is due to our Doctrinal Orientation with which we understand is all a part of our Personal Sense of Destiny.
Personal Love for GOD the Father allows us to have an Impersonal
Unconditional Love for all Mankind regardless of the trials tribulations persecutions and yes…even betrayals.
Contentment and Perfect Happiness with GOD because we are not occupied with the things of the world but we are occupied with Christ.
ROM12:14-19 is saying: Bless those who persecute you.
Keep on blessing them, and never curse them. Do not be arrogant. Do not pay anyone back evil for evil, but focus your thoughts on what is right in the sight of all people.
DEU 32 says: Do not take revenge, dear friends, but leave room for GOD’s wrath. For it is written, “Vengeance belongs to me. I will pay them back, declares the LORD.”
PHI 4:13, I am able to do all things through Him who strengthens me.
Make sure that no one falls short of the grace of GOD and that no root of bitterness springs up, causing trouble and by it, defiling many.
Forget the past, move on, and continue in GOD’s will.
This is that warning to us all not to get stuck in the whys of life but instead ask what’s next.
Betrayal is a very difficult thing to go through, because the betrayal that hurts the most is from those that are closest to us.
The Devil’s way is to become a victim, being a victim is the opposite of an overcomer.
The LORD comprehended every event, their causes and their interaction with other events, including every decision we would ever make. GOD knew simultaneously in eternity past everything that would ever happen in human history (the thoughts, actions, and decisions of every person).
They are His eternal purpose according to the counsels of His own will whereby, for His own glory, He has foreordained all that will ever come to pass.
GOD is Omniscient, and in one moment of time HE knew everything that would ever happen or ever could happen, all the possibilities and the decisions, all without violating our free will.
GOD is not gaining in knowledge, what GOD has known at any time, He has always known. GOD always knew everything that would ever happen. GOD, from His own sovereign volition, invented free will in two categories of creatures: Angels and Mankind. Both can choose for or against GOD.
It is because of the will of GOD that we were created, and that we exist, however, it is also because of the will of GOD that we possess our own free will.
ROM 11:36, “For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.”
In the decrees, the sovereignty of GOD, and free will of man co-exist in human history.
Unbelievers are not pre-destined to Hell, but they go to Hell by an act of their own volition (unbelief in the LORD Jesus Christ.
All that applies to our subject, because GOD knew of all the rejections as well as the acceptance of HIM throughout HIS story or history. And HE knew of all the trials tribulations persecutions and betrayals we would experience as well. They were all in that decree. And remember they are all for our benefit when we go through them and glorify HIM in the process.
PHI 2:13, “for it is GOD who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.”
Many believers sadly continue to run from their struggle instead of facing it like Jacob finally did.
Our LORD make it clear we must have this wrestling match.
Once you turn it over to the LORD and respond to HIM, once you accept and understand that you are positionally secure with Christ, that you are as righteous in HIS eyes that will ever be, once you get to that point, you are on the road to being an overcomer.
I may fail, but I have rebound, not a license to sin LORD but a license to serve. I only care to glorify you and I want this new name that your book of Revelation speaks of. I want to become an overcomer as the book of Revelation says.
LORD, I want only You.
