12. The availability of omnipotence or the divine power to execute the PPOG.
The same power that raised Christ from the dead is available to every Church-age believer for the execution of God’s will, plan, and purpose for the Church-age.
What is God’s will?
1 Tim 2:4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
What is God’s plan? EPH 3:16-19.
ROM 8:29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son [Christ at home in your hearts], that He might be the first-born among many brethren;
What is God’s purpose? 1PE 2:20-21.
God’s ultimate purpose for your life is for you to go through undeserved suffering and glorify Him by using His power to handle the suffering while maintaining His perfect happiness.
1PE 4:12 Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you;
The adversities and the afflictions we go through are what make our life and the service we have the privilege of experiencing the divine power or the application of the omnipotence of God in our life.
There are times when we will experience the ultimate blessing of being able to go through certain situations alone with the Lord Jesus Christ, apart from our family and friends – and we will experience the tranquility and dignity that the experience of divine power or the application of the omnipotence of God in our life imparts.
Adversity is the state in which we become truly acquainted with ourselves because then we are usually free of admirers.
The path of least resistance is the path of the loser, EST 4:16c “and if I perish, I perish.”
We must face up to the fact that the cross has only suffering and death as its ministry, but we have divine power or the application of the omnipotence of God in our life to meet the cross head on.
2Cor. 4:11 For we who live are constantly being delivered over to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.
“A gem cannot be polished without friction, nor a man perfected without trials.”
If we are going to receive the benefit of the cross, we must go through thee suffering of the cross, and we can do so with the experience of divine power or the application of the omnipotence of God in our life.
Power = the filling of the Holy Spirit + mental attitude from BD.
The Hypostatic Union was the greatest demonstration of this power that this world has ever seen.
John 1:9 There was the true light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man.
Therefore, Christ in His humanity relied on the genius that is His Father and the revealing work that was His Holy Spirit to execute the prototype plan of the Hypostatic Union.
F/HS + PVTD ? Execution of PPOG and Power
After introducing this equation to His disciples during the upper room discourse He exhibited its power by action as He endured the greatest undeserved suffering the world has ever seen.
He taught them the rebound technique; PSD #1, JOH 13:5.
He taught them eternal security, the helmet of salvation, JOH 13:10.
He taught them unity and servant-hood which is tantamount to enforced and genuine humility, JOH 13:14, 34.
He taught them the power of prayer as a function of the royal priesthood. JOH 14:13
He taught them about the coming power of the Spirit which they would receive at the feast of Pentecost. John 14:16-17
He taught them about the indwelling of the Trinity, JOH 14:20.
He taught them about the peace of God that goes beyond understanding, JOH 14:27.
