It was the Appeal Trial of “Hallel Ben Shechar” translated in Isa 14:12 as “O star of the morning, son of the dawn” in the presence of his legions of fallen angels.
This trial which took place on the cross would now be decided by the self-sacrificial act of service by the Faithful Witness, Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ.
The gallery of angels was filled with anticipation as the Suffering Servant King was about to take the stand and offer Himself as a sacrifice in order that justice might be served and to render a perfect example of service to be followed for all of eternity.
The Creator Himself, the Lamb slain before the foundation of the cosmos, Rev 13:8, would vindicate the Supreme Court of Heaven of any injustice for sentencing Satan and his legions to the Lake of Fire.
Both “Satanas and diabolos” translated Satan and the devil means attorney, slanderer, and accuser.
Col 1:20, “and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, {I say} whether things on earth or things in heaven.”
On the other hand, the stubborn contention of Satan would be convincingly destroyed by the righteous act of the Lamb as He was sacrificed upon the altar of the cross.
JOH 12:32 “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself.”
JOH 3:14 “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up;
Never had humanity witnessed such a self-less act of love as that which the Servant displayed as He was stretched out upon the Tree of Life and unjustly, cold-heartedly crucified as a common criminal.
For our Lord said in Heb 10:7 ‘Behold, I have come to do Your Will, O God (the Father).’”
Point 1. Our Definition with 10 sub points.
The first sub-point describes the main definition of jealousy which is that jealousy is a mental attitude sin which demands exclusive devotion and is intolerant of competition.
Point 2. For the believer rejection of Bible doctrine produces envy and jealousy, 1Ti 6:3-4.
Point 3. Jealousy is a self-destructive mental attitude and a system of thinking from the Cosmic system.
Point 4. Jealousy, like many of the other mental attitude sins, can produce physical sickness as well as mental disorder.
Point 5. Jealousy is the worst of all the mental attitude sins because it is the strongest of all mental attitude sins.
Jealousy is the strongest mental attitude sin says Pro 27:3‑4. Pride is the worst sin, and is the other side of the coin with jealousy.
Point 6. So great was the sin of jealousy in Israel that a special offering was made for it in Num 5:11‑31.
Point 7. Jealousy is the basis for the destruction of category two love (personal love of a member of the opposite sex), SOS 8:6‑7.
The seal signifies she belongs to a certain man and she is waiting for a certain man.
“strong as death” indicates that the man’s love for the woman and her response to that love serves as a fortification and protection for the woman’s soul and body.
Just as the grave robs you from a loved one so jealousy robs you of capacity in relationship with your loved one.
Many waters simply refers to pressures, disasters, difficulties, etc.
Rivers refer to the most horrible disasters of life which cannot destroy it.
Keil and Delitzsch bring out that this statement was a direct putdown to Solomon’s many gifts and his riches to this woman.
Think about it, pressures, disasters, difficulties, and the most horrible disasters can’t but jealousy can.
Jealousy has great power just as the fear of death has power.
Point 8. Jealousy is related to the suppression of pride, which is part of a trigger mechanism producing both false motivation and discord, Phi 1:15a.
Here we have a right action, like witnessing, with wrong motivation, jealousy.
Pettiness is the little sister of jealousy; they are closely related.
Point 9, Jealousy is related to the three categories of love.
a. Jealousy, as an anthropopathism, is legitimate only by God, who demands all your attention and concentration when you reach maturity.
b. In category two love toward a member of the opposite sex, the jealous person can be so possessive they
smother the other person’s love and destroy it.
c. In category three love toward friends, the jealous person wants you to be friends only with them.
Point 10, Jealous people rejoice in the misery or fall of others.
The evil instincts such as jealousy or envy cause more sufferings and miseries to people than many physical diseases.
A person who is jealous or envious of others feels painful and resentful at their betterment, and feel happy only when some miseries take place in the lives’ of others.
GAL 6:3 For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself.
Jealousy is like a serpent’s venom. It destroys the body, the soul and the personality of the individual.
The body, mind and intellect of a person with such malicious instincts become nothing more than a “trash basket.”
As a result, the jealous person looks for faults in others and never sees their good qualities and they think themselves faultless.
A sanitary inspector spends his time inspecting filth.
Jealousy is like a cancer, it grows and grows and grows until eventually it turns into outright hatred.
Their jealousy turned into outright hatred for their brother and they got rid of him.
Their father had favored Joseph over all of them and over the years their jealousy had turned into resentment, and their resentment became hatred.
Saul began by loving David but became very jealous and his jealousy turned to anger when David was being honored with a greater reputation.
Men are more vulnerable to jealousy than women in certain areas, particularly in their desire for power, position, and title.
We live in a performance oriented world where we are taught to compete.
A man’s desire for possessions often has more to do with the prestige he hopes to gain than either the love of an object or the desire for security.
Many people are so quick to resent the privileges given to those in leadership, but they fail to see the price that has been paid for many years.
The curse that you have prepared for another will come upon you, and the blessing that you have prepared for yourself will be given to them.
EZE 35:11 “I will deal with you according to your anger and according to your envy which you showed because of your hatred against them”
