In verse 2, they blamed Aaron and Moses, the leaders. And now in verse 3 they blame the Lord.

For generations believers have been looking for excuses not to go forward with the plan of God.

They not only blame their leaders but they find excuses not to do the Lord's will.

Excuses change nothing, but make those who give them feel better about themselves.

An excuse is worse and more terrible than a lie; for an excuse is a lie guarded from acknowledging the truth.

An American Proverb states; "Excuses are merely nails used to build a house of failure."

The excuse in this case for the Jews = our wives and our children will be plunder or booty.

They had actually provided and environment of fear, hysteria, emotionalism, arrogance, bitterness and self pity.
Neurotic parents can actually drive their children away from all authority and even repression.

These children who have heard Moses maligned every day in their tents will be healed by doctrine and they will go into the promise land.

The next generation of Jews will not be affected by the hysteria of their parents and do you know why?

They believed what Moses said not what their parents said.

The tabernacle, the outside ten where TLJC as the Shekinah Glory will remain at Kadesh-barnea in the tent for 38 silent years.

Many of the adults will take their flocks and they are going to scatter and disperse throughout the desert.

Moses will stay there and teach that next generation of young people, in fact most of them were in their teens for when he began to teach for 38 years.

They will learn the doctrine that their parents refused either to listen to, to believe, or to apply.

Are their children going to become plunder? No!

They are going to be as positive as their parents were negative.

Most of them saw those 10 great miracles in Egypt and the 10 great deliverance's in the desert.

They will spend the next 38 years sharing in the suffering of their parents but also having positive volition toward doctrine.

Some of them will handle that suffering magnificently because Bible doctrine is going to make the difference.

The congregation of Israel; Cried and wept all night; blamed Moses and Aaron, and then finally they blamed the Lord.
Please notice in vs 2, they blamed Aaron and Moses, the leaders. In verse 3, they blame the Lord.

It starts with the rejection of spiritual authority on the part of a few and then it spreads to a total rejection of the Lord and Bible doctrine on the part of the whole congregation.

For generations believers have been looking for excuses not to go forward with the plan of God.

For generations Christian have doubted in Mat 6:33.

They not only blame their leaders but they find excuses not to do the Lord's will.

They had actually provided and environment of fear, hysteria, emotionalism, arrogance, bitterness and self pity.

Cain turned out to be a murderer and a loser in life. Abel turned out to be a winner and a visible hero.

There's no place for blaming the parents! And there's no place for the parents blaming themselves. Cain was a product of his own decisions not his genes.

EZE 18:20 "The person who sins will die. The son will not bear the punishment for the father's iniquity, nor will the father bear the punishment for the son's iniquity;
the righteousness of the righteous will be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked will be upon himself.

These children who have heard Moses maligned every day in their tents will be healed by doctrine and they will go into the promise land.

God has promised them not only the land but the means of taking the land and God has made it clear, it has to be taken by warfare.

Prin - Without Bible doctrine no one, who is either slave or free, can get rid of the slave mentality which is "I want to go back to Egypt = back to the way things use to be

The slave mentality always has to do with security!

Freedom is far far greater than security but now they want to return to slavery.

Wanting security leads many individuals unto bondage and lack of freedom ---- for example marrying someone for their money or security.

REV 2:5 'Remember therefore from where you have fallen, and repent and do the deeds you did at first; or else I am coming to you, and will remove your lampstand out of its place‑‑ unless you repent.

2PE 2:22 It has happened to them according to the true proverb, "A dog returns to its own vomit," and, "A sow, after washing, returns to wallowing in the mire."

If they understood eternal security they would understand their temporal security which is logistical based upon your God promising to provide.

It is always interesting, people think that they can solve their problems by electing a new leader.

They are already thinking of electing a leader and going to back to Egypt........which represents the way things use to be.

Even in our own backyard we have to deal with the media that says to us every day, "let us go back to the ways things use to be."

It's time to get rid of their leader.

Prin - and here's a great principle the reveals their thinking; The plan of people who are irrational is always retreat and withdraw.

When you are in a jam or in some form of trial and testing, never forget Who is with you.

Mar 8:18 "Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear? And do you not remember?

LUK 24:8 And they remembered His words,

The will of the people was to get rid of Moses, elect another leader and go back to slavery.

The only Christian service that counts is where God is working on our behalf!

This shock indicates their total immobility of thinking and action under pressure.

They either lacked the doctrine or withdrew from the doctrine under pressure!
"In the desert, God carried them!"

1. We have a reference to the biggest problems the Jews faced, the emotional complex of sins and the arrogant complex of sins.
2. We have the murmuring and complaining toward the leadership manifested by operation blame game.
3. In verse 3, they blame the Lord and give the false impression that they were really only trying to protect the women and children.

In Egypt they saw the 10 great miracles by which they were released from slavery.

In Egypt they wanted to get away until they realized that if Moses failed that they might all suffer for it.

They also saw the power of God in the desert.

Irrationality has come into the picture.....they wished that they had died in Egypt or in the desert.

The last thing this congregate wished is that they were dead.

Exo 5:21 And they said to them, "May the Lord look upon you and judge you, for you have made us odious in

Pharaoh's sight and in the sight of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to kill us."

Exo 16:3 "Would that we had died by the Lord's hand in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the pots of meat, when we ate bread to the full; for you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger."

In Exo 17:3, they accused Moses of trying to kill them with thirst; EXO 17:3 But the people thirsted there for water; and they grumbled against Moses and said, "Why, now, have you brought us up from Egypt, to kill us and our children and our livestock with thirst?"

In fact, in Num 16:14, they will try and will blame Moses for not bringing them into the promise land and then
they will accuse him of trying to pluck out their eyes.

Don't be so concerned about them, as the apostle Paul warns us in 1Co 10:1-12, he said learn from them.

1Co 10:6-10, Now these things happened as examples for us, that we should not crave evil, as they also craved.
Do not get involved with religion and legalism" ---- as they had done!" nor let us act immorally, as some of them did, and twenty‑three thousand fell in one day. nor let us try the Lord, as some of them did, and were destroyed by the serpents. "Do not murmur and complain as some of them did, and were destroyed by the destroyer. now these things happened to them as an example, and they were written for our instruction, therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.

This is why we study the Exodus congregation, to learn what not to do when under pressure from the trials of life.

It starts with the rejection of spiritual authority on the part of a few and then it spreads to a total rejection of the Lord and Bible doctrine on the part of the whole congregation.

It is always interesting, people think that they can solve their problems by electing a new leader or changing leaders.

If there's any weakness in our governmental system it is to think that the persons we elect as leaders, somehow are going to solve our problems.

PSA 118:8-9. "It is better to take refuge in the Lord Than to trust in man. It is better to take refuge in the Lord Than to trust in princes."

JER 17:5 Thus says the Lord, "Cursed is the man who trusts in mankind And makes flesh his strength, And whose heart turns away from the Lord.

The plan of people who are irrational is always retreat and withdraw, to go backward.

Deu 5:15 'And you shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the Lord your God brought you out of there by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm;
In the business world, whenever you are successful, never forget who gave you that ability.

Deu 8:18 "But you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who is giving you power to make wealth.

Psa 77:11 I shall remember the deeds of the Lord; surely I will remember thy wonders of old.

Psa 106:7 Our fathers in Egypt did not understand thy wonders; they did not remember thine abundant kindnesses, but rebelled by the sea, at the red sea.

There are so many believers who have seen and heard the wonderful doctrines that the Lord has made available, and yet they fail under pressure.

Mar 8:18 "Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear? And do you not remember.

Psa 119:52 I have remembered thine ordinances from of old, O Lord, and comfort myself.
