What was the basis for the opposition to intermarriage?
2. How can a Jew oppose intermarriage without contradicting the natural instinct that he has to fight discrimination, especially after all that we have suffered throughout history as a result of racial discrimination?
Deu 7:3-4, "You shall not marry them (the gentiles, about which the Bible speaks in the previous verses), you shall not give your daughter to their son and you shall not take his daughter for your son."   The reason for this prohibition is clearly spelled out in the following verse: "Because he will lead your son astray from Me and they will serve strange gods…" then the anger of the Lord will be kindled against you, and He will quickly destroy you.

"Other gods or strange gods" can also be interpreted to mean those ideals that did not conform to the dictates of the Torah, and before which one bows his head and dedicates his heart and soul.

The phrase “unequally yoked” comes from 2Co 6:14 in the KJV “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?”

The New American Standard Version says, “Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness?”

A yoke is a wooden bar that joins two oxen to each other and to the burden they pull. An “unequally yoked” team has one stronger ox and one weaker, or one taller and one shorter.

They simply have nothing in common, just as Christ has nothing in common with “Belial,” a Hebrew word meaning “worthlessness” (2Co 6:15).

There are the complications of how the children will be brought up and what will the family's religion or spiritual life be based upon.

A Cushite was an Ethiopian at the time that Moses lived. They spoke a Semitic language and they were a dark skinned people who were a very powerful black race.
Josephus records for us that she was a Cushite or an Ethiopian princess, and she was very beautiful and intelligent.

The Jews were being called out of Egypt to become a client nation to God and here is their leader marrying someone who is not a part of the Jewish race.

We have the criticism of someone because they got married again and to a woman who was not Jewish.

Moses first wife was Zipporah. And it's a very interesting question, but whose business is it?

Do you take it upon yourself to dictate God's policy to other people?

There are two doctrines that are in view here and that apply to us, one is the Doctrine of Privacy, the other is the Doctrine of Jealousy.

The doctrine of jealousy. Point 1, Definition, we'll have 10 sub points.

a. Jealousy is a mental attitude sin which demands exclusive devotion and is intolerant of competition.
b. Jealousy is discontentment with the blessings, successes, or status symbols of other people.
c. Jealousy is resentment of the attractiveness or approbation that a person receives.

The jealousy of the authority of Joseph motivated his brothers to sell him into slavery, Gen 37:11, ACT 7:9.

ACT 7:9 "And the patriarchs became jealous of Joseph and sold him into Egypt. And {yet} God was with him,
d. Jealousy is also total selfishness and is incapable of true love.
e. Jealousy is a possessiveness which suppresses the volition of another person; hence, jealousy is tyranny.
f. Jealousy is also a manifestation of fear.

GEN 30:1 Now when Rachel saw that she bore Jacob no children, she became jealous of her sister; and she said to Jacob, "Give me children, or else I die."

It was called in England the "Morbidly Jealous Murderer."
"Morbid jealousy accounted for 12% of insane male murderers incarcerated at Broadmoor in England. The crime was most frequently committed by beating to death with a club or strangulation. Most morbidly jealous murderers are male.

Most victims are wives or mistresses. On the average these murderers had been married 10 years and had been delusional for at least half that time."

g. Jealousy is anti-freedom, and does not permit people to love you from their own volition.
Jealousy is a violation of the royal family honor code given in Rom 13:13, Let us behave properly as in the day, not in strife and jealousy.
h. Jealousy is an emotional sin, as well as a part of arrogance.
i. Jealousy is mood arrogance troubled by suspicion that a person's love has been diverted to a rival.
j. Jealousy is inordinate competition in love, in business, in social life, in athletics, in professional life, and in the spiritual life.
Arrogance toward self, which is subjective arrogance. Possessiveness of others, which is objective arrogance.

Point 2. For the believer rejection of Bible doctrine produces envy and jealousy, 1Ti 6:3-4.

1Ti 6:3 "If anyone advocates, encourages or teaches a different doctrine. and does not agree with sound doctrines those of our Lord Jesus Christ, even with the doctrines pertaining to the spiritual life.
1TI 6:4 he has received blind arrogance and understands nothing [of doctrine] a morbid obsession about controversies and verbal conflicts out of which arise or originate jealousy discord speaking evil [SOT] evil speculations or presumptuous sins.

Many individuals disagree with and attack the teachings of others because of jealousy.

PHI 1:15 Some, to be sure, are preaching Christ even from envy and strife, but some also from good will;

Jealousy is discontent with the blessings, successes, or status symbols of other people, and in Satan's case, God.

Mar 15:10 "For He [TLJC] was aware that the chief priests had delivered Him over to the Romans because of jealousy."

Point 3. Jealousy is a self-destructive mental attitude and a system of thinking from the Cosmos.
The word disorder is the noun akatastasia meaning instability, disorder, commotion, and confusion.
