The Divine Decrees. Part 10.
Wednesday, July 27, 2011
God’s decrees include:
a. His directive will.
b. His permissive will.
c. His overruling will.
The only way any believer can really understand and enjoy the divine decrees for their life is to learn about God’s plan through the intake of Bible doctrine on a consistent diet of P.M.A. of Bible doctrine.
Our psuedo-Christian culture is profane… not the profanity of foul language, but the profanity of treating divine things with a casual, apathetic, flippant attitude.
We profane or become familiar with them by making them common, ordinary, usual, mundane, and routine.
The danger of familiarity is in knowing and taking for granted.
LUK 7:39 Now when the Pharisee who had invited Him saw this, he said to himself,
LUK 7:39… Now when the Pharisee who had invited Him saw this, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet He would know who and what sort of person this woman is who is touching Him, that she is a sinner.”
It is very interesting that this woman who is recognized as a sinner is the one who shows our Savior the most adoration.
It means that you often become so accustomed to familiar things and people that you no longer value them as you did before.
LUK 4:28-29, And all in the synagogue were filled with rage as they heard these things; and they rose up and cast Him out of the city, and led Him to the brow of the hill on which their city had been built, in order to throw Him down the cliff.
Answer – the Truth – Nothing but the Truth.
PRO 27:6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend, But deceitful are the kisses of an enemy.
PSA 141:5 Let the righteous smite me in kindness and reprove me; It is oil upon the head; Do not let my head refuse it,
2SA 12:7 Nathan then said to David, “You are the man! Thus says the Lord God of Israel, ‘It is I who anointed you king over Israel and it is I who delivered you from the hand of Saul.’”
They lost out on the truth of God and the word and the truth that would set them free.
MAT 13:57 “A prophet is not without honor except in his home town, and in his {own} household.”
Are we developing the familiarities today with those who teach the word of God in Truth and Love?
Are we developing the familiarities today with those who are members of our ministry who give and support Bible doctrine today?
Do we allow our familiarities today to breed contempt, no longer respecting those who preach and teach in truth and love, taking them for granted? Do we allow our familiarities today to breed contempt, no longer appreciating the word of God or those who live in it and become witnesses for TLJC?
MAR 4:24 And He was saying to them, “Take care what you listen to. By your standard of measure it shall be measured to you; and more shall be given you besides.”
The selection of a pastor-teacher is a very important and serious decision accompanied by the fact that God has provided the right one just for you.
DEU 32:4 God is the rock! His work is perfect.
JAM 1:17 Every good thing bestowed and every perfect gift is from above.
EPH 4:8 When He ascended on high, He led captive a host of captives and He gave gifts to men.
EPH 4:11-12, and He gave some apostles, some prophets, and some evangelists, and some pastor-teachers for the equipping of the saints, for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ
(a) To equip and train the royal family for combat.
(b) For the vocation of the ministry, i.e., training future pastors.
(c) For the edification of the body, i.e., to teach, study, discipline (public), reprimand (private), and encourage by steadfastness and doctrine.
As a part of your escrow blessings and gifts from God have been tailored to fit you perfectly.
1CO 12:28 God has appointed in the church… third pastor-teachers.
HEB 10:25 Stop forsaking your own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but
gather together for the purpose of encouragement
