Adjustment to the justice of God. Part 7. The importance of understanding Salvation Adjustment to the Justice of God.

Sunday, March 3, 2002

Point 2. Salvation Adjustment to the Justice of God.

God is fair; it is impossible for God to be unfair because he has perfect righteousness and immutability.

God cannot lie, TIT 1:2.

God cannot be unjust or unfair, DEU 32:4.

God cannot change, MAL 3:6.

He cannot say to any member of the body, I do not need you, 1CO 14:21.

God cannot be tempted by evil, JAM 1:13.

God cannot sin, 1JO 3:9.

2TI 2:13 If we are faithless, He remains faithful; for He cannot deny Himself.

When perfect righteousness and justice team up, salvation must be provided without any compromise of divine essence.

Turn to HEB 10:8

The righteousness of God makes a demand on the justice of God - justice cannot save anyone unless the individual possesses perfect righteousness and remains in that status quo.

Turn to HEB 4:15

Divine justice administers what perfect righteousness demands, and perfect righteousness makes a demand upon divine justice - perfect righteousness.

Adam and the woman in the Garden of Eden, before they sinned, possessed absolute and complete righteousness, but not the perfect righteousness of God.

DEU 32:4 The Rock! His work is perfect, For all His ways are just; A God of faithfulness and without injustice, Righteous and upright is He.

Justice cannot save anyone in the human race unless perfect righteousness is perfectly satisfied and remains in status quo.

JON 2:9b “Salvation is from the Lord.”

PSA 3:8 “Salvation belongs to the Lord;”

PSA 19:9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the Lord are true; they are righteous altogether. ISA 45:21 There is no other God besides Me, A righteous God and a Savior; There is none except Me.

It is through faith in the work of Jesus Christ on the Cross that the righteousness of God is revealed.

1PE 2:24 and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness;

2CO 5:21 He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

The justice of God was propitiated by the efficacious sacrifice of Christ on the cross.

The work of Christ satisfied the justice of God the Father, and freed the grace of God to save anyone who would believe in Christ, so man is free to adjust to the justice of God.

The justice of God is now free to pardon and justify sinful mankind through mans non-meritorious adjustment to the justice of God, ROM 3:21-28; ROM 4:5; ROM 8:1.

The justice of God is not free and must condemn those who do not believe in Christ to the lake of fire forever,JOH 3:18, 36.

A place of torment, LUK 16:28.

A place where desire is never met, LUK 16:24.

A place of unspeakable misery - “everlasting fire,” MAT 25:41.

A place where the worm [conscience] never dies and the fire is never quenched, MAR 9:44.

The Lake (which many believe to be a liquid form of lava) which burns with fire and brimstone, REV 21:8.

A bottomless pit, REV 9:2 Outer darkness, MAT 8:12 Fire unquenchable, LUK 3:17 Furnace of fire, MAT 13:42 Blackness of darkness, Jud 13

MAT 13:42 and will cast them into the furnace of fire; in that place there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

MAR 9:49 “For everyone will be salted with fire.”

REV 14:11 “the smoke of their torment ascends up for ever and ever and they have no rest day or night.”

LUK 22:44 - His sweat became like drops of blood, falling down upon the ground.

PSA 22:14-15 all my bones are out of joint; And my tongue cleaves to my jaws

LUK 23:11 And Herod with his soldiers, after treating Him with contempt and mocking Him, dressed Him in a gorgeous robe and sent Him back to Pilate.

PSA 22:16-17 They pierced my hands and my feet. I can count all my bones. ISA 52:14 His appearance was marred more than any man, And His form more than the sons of men.

ISA 53:4 smitten [nakah-to violently strike; severely] of God, and afflicted.

ISA 53:10 But the Lord [God the Father] was pleased To crush Him,

ISA 50:6 “I gave My back to those who strike Me, and My cheeks to those who pluck out the beard; I did not cover My face from humiliation and spitting.”

MAR 10:34 - they mocked Him and spit upon Him, and scourged Him, and killed Him, MAT 26:67 Then they spit in His face. MAT 26:67 Then they spit in His face and beat Him with their fists; and others slapped Him,

MAT 26:53 “Do you think that I cannot appeal to My Father, and He will at once put at My disposal more than twelve legions of angels?”

His restraint was very significant, for if He had lost His temper, there would be NO SALVATION!
