In Gen 25, he used his brothers hunger to purchase the birthright.


1) To be occupied with Him.

2) To be governed by His doctrine.

3) To love and to serve Him.

4) To have all five parts of our soul in complete   submission to Him.


  1. God will require accountability for what you hear; Deu 18:19.


  1. God will require you to fulfill any vow that you have made to Him; Deu 23:21.


  1. David even tells us that only the wicked think God will not require anything, PSA 10:13 Why has the wicked spurned God? He has said to himself, "Thou wilt not require anything."


  1. God also requires that the believer operates in three things:

1) To operate in justice.

2) To love mercy, i.e., grace in action.

3) To walk humbly with thy God.

MIC 6:8  He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God?


  1. The more doctrine you learn and the more committed you are, the more shall be required of you, Luk 12:48 "Everyone who has been given much shall much be required; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more."


  1. It is also required in stewards that a man be found faithful, 1Co 4:2.


The word "godless" does not necessarily refer to someone who doesn't believe in God, but someone who leaves God out of their life.


They are given an eternal inheritance in Eph 1:14, and yet they ignore that inheritance.


They have been given eternal life but through N.V.T.D., they have ignored the reality of living in that live in time.


They have been reconciled to God but they ignore that relationship that comes from reconciliation.


They have been created a new spiritual species or a new creature but do not live in the new creation.


They've been entered into the Royal family of God forever but refuse to gather together with the Royal family of God in time.


They've been given equal privilege and equal opportunity to glorify God but have ignored the divine opportunities and privileges.

They've been given the universal priesthood of the believer but refuse to function as priests through their N.V.T.D.


They've been made a Royal ambassador for Christ at the moment of salvation but have sent a message to their king, TLJC, "I'm not interested in representing you in this foreign country called the world!"


They've been given the indwelling of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, and have ignored their presence.


They have been given the unique availability of divine power but insist on relying on their own disgusting, repulsive, sickening human power.


They've been given a portfolio of invisible assets but have sold out to the cosmic system.


They've been given the unique predesigned plan of God but insist on relying on their own plans.


They've been given a spiritual gift to build up and edify their local assembly but they are too busy in the devil's world to do so.


They have been transferred into the kingdom of God and delivered from the kingdom of Satan but have refused to accept that liberty and freedom.


They have been given direct access to God but do not have time to approach Him.


They've been given escrow blessings but would rather receive cosmic compensation.


They've been given problem solving devices but instead rely on human solutions.


They hear what Adam and the woman heard in the garden, words from the serpent, GEN 3:4 "You surely shall not die!"


MAT 4:9, Satan says through his cosmic system, "All these things will I give You, if You fall down and worship me."


MAR 8:36 "For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul?"


2TI 2:4  No soldier in active service entangles himself in the affairs of everyday life, so that he may please the one who enlisted him as a soldier.


LUK 8:14 "these are the ones who have heard, and as they go on their way they are choked with worries and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to maturity.


It was Esau's antagonism and threats toward Jacob that caused Jacob to flee to his uncle Laban in Haran.


He tried to get the others out of the vicinity so that he could be alone with her.

PRO 23:7 warns us about individuals like him when it says "For as he thinks within himself, so he is. He says to you, "Eat and drink!" But his heart is not with you."


He has just arrived into this new country and he is telling them to water the sheep, and then go, and then pasture them.


Jacob went up, and rolled the stone from the mouth of the well, and watered the flock of Laban his mother's brother.


Do you recall what was said about this huge stone in verse 2,  Now the stone on the mouth of the well was large.


GEN 29:3  When all the flocks were gathered there, they would then roll the stone from the mouth of the well, and water the sheep, and put the stone back in its place on the mouth of the well.


Jacob went up, and rolled the stone from the mouth of the well, and watered the flock of Laban his mother's brother.


"to roll the stone,"  it is the Hiphil imperfect of the verb galal which in the Hiphil stem means to be caused to roll away the stone, to have something motivate you or to give you strength to do it.


What motivated him to move this boulder that normally could only be moved by four or five men?


He did this because she had a beautiful figure and a beautiful face according to verse 17.


The beauty of his cousin gave him unusual strength.
