The Doctrine of Fear. Part 16.

Wednesday, November 16, 2011

The pre-designed plan of God is the provision of the sovereign will of God for you from eternity past to execute God’s plan, God’s purpose, and God’s will for your life.

It is the work of God the Father in eternity past on behalf of every Church Age believer to execute God’s plan, purpose, and will for his life.

We call his counterfeit the cosmic system which is Satan’s classroom for the deception behind fear.

The purpose is to destroy the believer’s relationship with God.

One of the major areas of deception and fear is in the area of lust as Satan and the kingdom of darkness tempts the lust pattern of the old sin nature.

a. Power lust is the worst of all, for almost all other lusts are related to this one, especially if you have any inferiority problems.
b. Approbation lust is merely one of the extensions of power lust, and it is separate because some people do want approbation without power.
c. Stimulation lust has many parts, in which we cater to the nerve centers and functions of our body in the name of pleasure.

(1) Sexual lust, or lasciviousness
(2) Drunkenness
(3) Drug addiction
(4) Mental stimulation or intellectual arrogance

(5) There is also a Killer lust which is the problem solving device of the weak.
(6) Anger does not always but definitely can bring out a cruel streak.

He knows that one of the most basic needs in the human race is the need to be loved, appreciated, and wanted.

One of the main reasons why lust is such a powerful weapon still around today is because most individuals do not understand the difference between natural desires and lusts.

Paul is actually telling us about the influences that are impelling and driving and urging the old self in us toward destruction.
He calls these influences “lusts.”

Lust – noun epithumia = a strong or an overpowering desire.

LUK 22:15 “I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer”

“Earnestly desired” = used elsewhere for lust.
It means a driving desire, whether good or bad.

MAT 5:28 But I say to you, that everyone who looks on a woman to lust [epithumia] for her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.
MAT 13:17 for truly I say to you, that many prophets and righteous men desired [epithumia] to see what you see, and did not see it; and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.

1CO 10:6 Now these things happened as examples for us, that we should not lust [epithumia] for evil things, as they also lusted [epithumia].
1TI 3:1 It is a trustworthy statement: if any man aspires to [epithumia] the office of overseer, it is a fine work he desires to do.
JAM 4:2 You lust [epithumia] and do not have; so you commit murder. And you are envious and cannot obtain; so you fight and quarrel. You do not have because you do not ask.

Epithumia can mean lust or desire depending on not what it is directed towards but “how” it is directed toward those things
