Point 2. Man Can Now Approach God on the Basis of God’s Mercy for Man.

DAN 9:9 To God belongs mercy and forgiveness.

JAM 2:13 For judgment will be merciless to one who has shown no mercy; mercy triumphs over judgment.
ROM 11:32 For God has shut up all in disobedience that He might show mercy to all.

HEB 8:12
"For I will be merciful to their iniquities, And I will remember their sins no more."

Mercy is related to our sins and failures, whereas grace is related to the provisions of God.

Believers who truly come to understand God’s grace and mercy love you more and need you less (C.S. Lewis).

1CO 13:13
But now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Mercy is the divine prescription that removes guilt from the believer’s life.

We receive mercy for our past mistakes and grace for our spiritual strength and integrity when under pressure.

Mercy and compassion is the female part of God.

Grace (provision) is the male part of God.

GEN 1:27 And God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

ISA 46:8-9 Remember this, and be assured; Recall it to mind, you transgressors. Remember the former things long past,
For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is no one like Me,

ISA 63:9 In all their affliction He was afflicted, And the angel of His presence saved them; In His love and in His mercy He redeemed them; And He lifted them and carried them all the days of old.

PSA 86:15 But Thou, O Lord, art a God merciful and gracious, Slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness and truth.

If we were left in our sins there would be no way that we could approach God’s integrity, but because of the blood of Christ, we not only can approach, but can do so with confidence.

HEB 9:5 And above it were the cherubim of glory overshadowing the mercy seat;

God’s own life put on the line, on the table, for every creature that never deserved Him, to see.
