The Doctrine of Mercy. Part 6.

Point 7: There are warnings in Scripture to appropriate the grace and mercy of God so as to not forfeit eternal rewards and waste our lives.
Sin is no longer an issue with the believer who understands mercy and its application in PSD #1 Rebound (1Jn 1:9).
So, with sin abolished, eternal life secured, our needs met without condition, do we just sit around and wait to die?
2 Co 4:15 For all things are for your sakes, that the grace which is spreading to more and more people may cause the giving of thanks to abound to the glory of God.
PHI 4:20 Now to our God and Father be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
REV 4:11 "Worthy art Thou, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for Thou didst create all things, and because of Thy will they existed, and were created."
Simply put there is a goal that God has given us which is the highest goal He could possibly give to any believer; to glorify Him and to do so our minds and our bodies must be subjected to Him.
1. Salvation must be obtained by works. Salvation is faith plus works. This is blasphemous. (TIT 3:5; EPH 2:8-9) This is the basis of Arminianism.
2. True believers will never fall and so these warnings are given to those who profess they believed but never really did. This is blasphemous. This is the basis of Hypercalvinism.
3. God is trying to scare you straight so that in great fear of God you will walk a straight path. This is blasphemous. This is the basis of a garden variety of religious denominations.
EPH 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast.
ROM 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is reckoned as righteousness,
After salvation there is another call to take the positional righteousness that we received and transform that to experiential righteousness in time through PVTD and the F/HS.
JOH 15:6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch, and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
REV 3:5 He who overcomes shall thus be clothed in white garments; and I will not erase his name from the book of life, and I will confess his name before My Father, and before His angels.
The warnings are alarms about the possibility of the forfeiture of our eternal rewards and of learning at the judgment seat that our lives have been wasted.
