The Mechanics of the Open Doors, God’s system of Open Doors in times of disaster.
The teth file Psa 119, it has come to mean the strength of a believer’s relationship with TLJC in time of disaster.
The word “well” is the first word in the sentence which is the Hebrew word towb which means the production of divine good.
teth file the first word found in the teth file must begin with the Hebrew letter teth and it is towb, which in the Hebrew language is the first word in the sentence and therefore it is the first word being emphasized towb is a reference to the good God produces and therefore literally divine good.
PSA 119:65, Towb or Divine good you have produced with Thy servant, O Lord, according to Thy word. This means that under horrible disastrous conditions, through the open doors that God provides, God manufacturers divine good.
As believers we have a perfect relationship with God but only those believers who know the word and know how to produce divine good can appreciate that perfect relationship.
towb the letter teth which represents the strength that comes in time of disaster from being able to be taught good discernment and knowledge from the divine viewpoint.
PSA 119:66 [Towb] Divine good discernment along with knowledge is what I need to be taught in time of disaster, For I believe in Thy commandments.
“teach” is the piel stem of lamadh in the piel stem is an intensive stem and means to learn in an intense manner or the hard way, the discernment and knowledge I need to handle the disaster.
The piel stem of the verb means learning under intense situations. This is an imperative of entreaty of command which means that he is ready to learn his lesson even if it means the hard way. Many believers are in the chain gang of slavery and don’t even know it because they are under the slave mentality which means that they would rather have security than freedom.
Like the Jews in the Exodus generation, they were free physically, but in their thinking they were still slaves.
PSA 119:66...For I believe in Thy commandments, it means that he has been forced to learn the hard way to operate in the faith-rest drill.
You’ve heard of enforced humility and genuine humility?
This is enforced faith-rest which eventually leads to genuine faith-rest.
As the K.J.’s translation says in ISA 29:24, They also that erred in spirit shall come to understanding, and they that murmured shall learn doctrine.
It doesn’t say “I have obeyed Thy commandments,”
it says, “I have believed Thy commandments.”
God says to the storm, shipwreck them!
To the riches, melt away!
To the wind, toss them!
ISA 43:2 "When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, Nor will the flame burn you.
DEU 31:6 "Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the Lord your God is the one who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you."
Riches, melt away?
PHI 4:19 And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
PSA 112:3, Wealth and riches are in his house, And his righteousness endures forever.
MAT 8:26, “Why are you timid, you men of little faith?” Then He arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and it became perfectly calm.
These (the Storms, the Fire, the Friends, the Riches, the winds) are all God’s servants and must obey His will.
When PSA 119:66 says,
Divine good discernment along with knowledge is what I need to be taught in time of disaster,
This is not just knowledge of our Lord but also knowledge of ourselves.
Knowledge = something we use under normal circumstances.
Discernment = ability to think correctly while under pressure.
The first word in the sentence is the Hebrew adverb ??? terem which is correctly translated "before or before that" and with this we have the verb ??? shagag meaning to go astray, to wander away from something you already have.
1CO 3:1, And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual men, but as to men of flesh, as to babes in Christ. I gave you milk to drink, not solid food; for you were not yet able to receive it. Indeed, even now you are not yet able, for you are still fleshly. For since there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not fleshly, and are you not walking like mere men? For when one says, "I am of Paul," and another, "I am of Apollos," are you not mere men? What then is Apollos? And what is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, even as the Lord gave opportunity to each one. planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth. So then neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but God who causes the growth.
Many times our disastrous, trials and afflictions act like thorns and a hedge to keep us in the right path and before the open doors of living the spiritual life.
Many times prosperity is an open door through which we go astray.
Charles Spurgeon - Why is it that a little ease works in much disease, 2SA 11:1.
2SA 11:1 Then it happened in the spring, at the time when kings go out to battle, that David sent Joab and his servants with him and all Israel, and they destroyed the sons of Ammon and besieged Rabbah. But David stayed at Jerusalem.
This word astray is also used for the sin of ignorance, LEV 5:18. He allows the world to afflict us to bring us back to Him. God allows people and circumstances to handle you roughly, if need be.
He was wholesome, healthy, he wasn’t captive and in chains, but he was astray from God. The character of a person must always come before the work of the person. doest good = to cause good; to cause absolute good.
The person must come before the work means that you must know doctrine before you can produce divine good. Only God can take one believer plus disaster and turn that into divine good. Doest good is a hiphil stem, and this means to cause good.
"teach me" is the same word, lamad, but this time he says statutes. Statutes are categories of doctrine. Doctrine which is permanently retained is doctrine which is in its proper category. So it is important to know categories of doctrine because when you have pressure you may not be able to think of specific principles but you can think of a category.
The arrogant refers to the Chaldeans, the soldiers in charge.
The word forge means to contrive, and the lie simply means they have accused him falsely. Wherever you find in the Old Testament the words whole heart it refers to the entire soul.
The Chaldean soul: there is no human spirit; their self-consciousness is great pride; mental attitude: they have mental attitude sins which produce self-induced misery; volition: they make decisions which lead to abuse; emotion: their appreciation of life is sensual; conscience: their standards are animalistic, brutal.
This is paronomasia, which is a play on words - the word to delight here means to fondle, to caress, to make love, shaa. He knows the scripture [law] but the word statutes refers to doctrine in the scripture. It is one thing to know the Bible stories; it is something else to know the doctrines in the scripture.
Now we have disaster, affliction, and he still knows it but he now has discernment. Next we have the Yodh file representing the hand.
Generally speaking the hands of God are used to show His power, His plan, the wonderful security which He provides. The hands of the Lord Jesus Christ are often described as the hands of the creator, PSA 19:1 cf. COL 1:16.
They are mentioned in connection with the cross-they nailed His hands to the cross, PSA 22:16; JOH 20:19,20. The hands of Christ are also the hands of eternal security-JOH 10:28; PSA 37:24. 1PE 5:6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time,
Up to this point, all of the acrostics in Psa 119 dealt with the various activities along the march-the disasters, the tragedies, the heartaches, the frustrations, the total catastrophe concept, the helplessness of the prisoners. Those who began to survive these terrible disasters began to remember points of doctrine which they had learned in the home, or words which the writer of this passage had described to them.
He began to pass on pieces of doctrine to those with him and suddenly finds himself with a Bible class, because he knows a great deal of Bible doctrine. "hands made me" - the word to make here is ??? asah which means to make something out of something. The writer is referring to himself and he refers to the Lord as a potter. It means here not only to make something out of existing materials but it is a reference to the writer who is previously described in verse 67 as being a carnal believer-indifferent to Bible doctrine-until the catastrophe hits.
Consequently he is saying that the reason he is intact, the reason his soul is till stabilized, is because out of existing materials he has been fashioned.
He has been fashioned out of the materials of doctrine.
What was once a failure now has become a vessel for the Lord’s use. The word for fashioned means to stabilize. This is in the piel stem, an intensive stem. He is saying that once Bible doctrine begins to move from the human spirit into the facets of the soul he began to stabilize.
"give me understanding" - hiphil imperative of ??? bin, which means to be caused to recall something already learned; "that I may learn" - ??? lamad, which means that he wants to get it up into the soul so that he can communicate it. "They that fear thee" - in the chain gang are other believers who have come to the point of occupation with Christ. They realize the importance of Bible doctrine. The word translated wait here is the Hebrew word ??? yachal which means to trust under maximum pressure. He used the faith-rest technique under maximum pressure.
The greatest thing that can happen to anyone. "I know" - here is the best testimony we can ever have as a believer, i.e. that we know doctrine.
This is ??? yada in the qal stem, which means to learn under an academic situation.
"thy judgments" - Bible doctrine; "are right, and that thou in faithfulness has afflicted me" - he begins to understand the principle of God’s faithfulness.
