Point 5. Bible Doctrine Is the Guide to Lead God’s People to Rest.

Stammering lips and a foreign tongue is a fulfillment of
1CO 14:21-22, where tongues were a sign to the unbelieving Jews from the believing Gentiles who spoke fluent Hebrew.

ISA 28:8-9, Every table is covered with vomit. They live in vomit. Is that so? And who do you think you are to teach us? Who are you to lord it over us? We’re not babies in diapers to be talked down to by such as you--

ISA 28:10-12, Da, da, da, da, blah, blah, blah, blah. That’s a good little girl, that’s a good little boy. But that’s exactly how you will be addressed. God will speak to this people In baby talk, one syllable at a time, and he’ll do it through foreign oppressors. He said before, “This is the time and place to rest, to give rest to the weary. This is the place to lay down your burden.” But they won’t listen.

ISA 28:13-14, So GOD will start over with the simple basics and address them in baby talk, one syllable at a time - “Da, da, da, da, blah, blah, blah, blah. That’s a good little girl, that’s a good little boy.” And like toddlers, they will get up and fall down, get bruised and confused and lost. Now listen to GOD’s Message, you scoffers, you who rule this people [in Jerusalem].

ISA 28:15-16, You say, “We’ve taken out good life insurance. We’ve hedged all our bets, covered all our bases. No disaster can touch us. We’ve thought of everything. We’re advised by the experts. We’re set.” But the Master, GOD, has something to say to this: “Watch closely. I’m laying a foundation in Zion, a solid granite foundation, squared and true. And this is the meaning of the stone: A TRUSTING LIFE WON’T TOPPLE.”

The first rest - menuwchach = the rest, or the condition of rest, the marriage of rest. The second rest here (repose) - marge`ah = to refresh or a place to rest.

Unbelief stops you from entering into rest, but you have to have something to be unbelieving towards.

Bible doctrine is the object of your unbelief or that which you are unbelieving towards. To reject Bible doctrine is to reject the rest that God has for your life.

They didn’t find rest, not because God was not truly God, but because they refused to enter into the rest made available to them from “knowing” God’s ways.

ROM 10:2 ....they have a zeal for God, but not in accordance with knowledge.

You can serve God all you want, but unless your service is the result of knowing Him, your service is all wood, hay, and straw, which is burned at the Judgment Seat of Christ.

Rest - Psa 95 - menuwchach = God’s condition of rest, His place of rest, or your marriage with rest.

What is the current day tendency found in Christianity?

Margoa - rest = a place of rest.

Point 6. Rest is said to be the inheritance of people of God.

PSA 37:7 Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who carries out wicked schemes.

Rest - damam = to stop everything you are doing and be astonished at Him, occupied with Him.

2CO 3:18 “The more we behold His glory the more we are being changed.”

What happens with most believers is that the problem comes and they immediately freak out and all they do is concentrate on the problem.

PSA 37:7 ...Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him;

In His time, He has a purpose, He has a reason for everything that happens in your life, He even knows even the numbers of hairs upon your head -
MAT 10:30 “But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.”

ACT 5:39 If it be of God, you cannot overthrow it; lest by chance you may be found even to fight against God.

PSA 23:2 He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters.
PSA 23:5 He prepares a table before me in the presence of my enemies.

It was not only a place you would come to for rest and relaxation, but a table was also a place you would come to for pleasure and enjoyment. We have the greatest chef of all time, TLJC, Who is preparing a table for us in the midst of our enemies.

Point 7. The Opposition to Rest.
