The doctrine of the Second Coming.
Friday, August 29, 2003
Akouo, hearing the word of God, then tereo, guarding the word of God in our heart, leads to ginosko, knowing God, resulting in personal love for God and impersonal unconditional love for all mankind and executing the spiritual life.
PRO 4:23 Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it {flow} the springs of life.
Salvation – nominative singular subject – soteria swthriva = sometimes it means salvation in the sense of redemption, but more often, it refers to deliverance.
Deliverance = the Second Advent, a time of deliverance for those believers who are winners in the Tribulation period.
The Doctrine of the Second Advent.
Point 1. Definition: Advent = the Coming or the Arrival of something extremely important.
The First Advent begins with the virgin birth and concludes with the resurrection, ascension and session.
GEN 3:15 And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise him on the heel.
The Jewish prophecy of the First Advent is found in ISA 7:14; ISA 9:6.
The historical fulfillment of the First Advent is found in MAT 1:19-25.
The result of the First Advent: JOH 1:14;
ROM 1:3; 1TI 3:16;
HEB 2:14; PHI 2:5-11.
JOH 1:14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.
ROM 1:3 concerning His Son, who was born of a descendant of David according to the flesh,
1TI 3:16 And by common confession great is the mystery of godliness: He who was revealed in the flesh,
During the First Advent, Jesus Christ in Hypostatic Union accomplished the strategic victory of the angelic conflict and the salvation of the human race.
This strategic victory gives Him battlefield royalty.
He must have a royal family to go with this royalty.
Therefore, there was the need for the Church.
The Second Advent is designed to reveal Him as both battlefield royalty and Jewish royalty.

REV 1:7 Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. Even so. Amen.
R – In the air, 1TH 4:17.
SA – On earth, ZEC 14:4.
1TH 4:16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first.
1TH 4:17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and thus we shall always be with the Lord.

Point 3. Analogies to the Second Advent.

MAT 24:27.
b. The Second Advent will be seen by all –
REV 1:7 “Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him.”
c. The Second Advent travels at great speed, REV 22:7, 12.
d. The Second Advent disturbs and frightens the unenlightened,
REV 6:15-17.
e. The Second Advent warns of a coming storm.

Judgment of the beast and false prophet.
4. Baptism of fire removes all unbelievers from the earth.
5. Administration of the fifth cycle of discipline to certain nations.
MAT 24:37 – it will be like the days of Noah – people living under the wrong priorities, even though it may refer to the presence of super-creatures on the earth once again.
Verse 39 – “they did not know” a big judgment was on the horizon.
Verses 40-41 – the believer is left and the unbeliever is taken in the baptism of fire.
