ENJOY HAPPINESS IN THE FACE OF TRIALS
James 1:2 Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials.
heegeesasthe – “to reckon as,” “to deem as,” or “to regard as.”
God never commands us to go thru anything unless He gives us the power to succeed.
“I do not ask Thee to take them out of the world, but to keep them from the evil one.
“Joy” = inner happiness; a sense of inner gladness, delight or rejoicing.
The reason why we are told to consider “trials” as an occasion for happiness is that they may become the means through which better Christian qualities may develop.
1CO 10:13 – God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, that you may be able to endure it.
You put the doctrine in your soul together with the facts of your pressure experience, and you conclude – it is perfect +H.
Happiness is to conclude that these trials are a reflection of the Potter’s hand at work in your life and it is all for your benefit.
Joy is the deep-down sense of well-being that abides in the heart of the child of God who knows all is well between himself and the Lord.
Christian joy is not an experience that comes from favorable circumstances but even occurs when those circumstances are unpleasant, and even painful.
All that God plans and performs here is preparation for what He has in store for us.
Life on earth is a school in which God trains us for the future.
It means –
to fall into the midst of,
to fall into a hole;
to fall into so as to be encompassed by something.
Amplified version –
Consider it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever you are enveloped in or encounter trials of any sort or fall into various temptations.
The word “various” simply means, many types, many categories;
great variety or diversity;
“multicolored”, like Joseph’s coat of many colors.
“Through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God.”
Those who adjust themselves to the fact that trials and tribulations are the normal condition of the Christian life find joy in everything.
To try to learn the nature or character of someone or something thorough and extensive testing – ‘to test, to examine, to put to the test, examination, testing.’
The experiences that come to the children of God are not by accident. We have a loving Heavenly Father who controls the affairs of this world and who has a purpose behind each event
