In every dispensation, God’s policy of grace always excludes human self-rightousness and any form of human good for salvation.

REV 12:13 And when the dragon saw [perceived] that he was thrown down violently to the earth, he persecuted the woman [the nation Israel] who gave birth to the male child [TLJC].
A client nation is a national entity under the support of God, assigned the responsibility for the formation, preservation, communication, and fulfillment of the canon of Scripture.
The Jews made a decision from a position of weakness when they rejected the sign of the virgin birth – they rejected Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
God used signs throughout the Bible to speak to the Jews –
1CO 1:22 For indeed Jews ask for signs, and Greeks search for wisdom;
Circumcision is a sign to the Jews that they are a new race, Gen 17-10-11; ROM 4:11.
The Passover was also given to the Jews as a sign of the cross, EXO 12:7-13.
The Sabbath was given to serve as a sign of the rest that God’s people should have, EXO 31:13-17;
EZE 20:12.
Bible doctrine or the word of God was given to the Jews as sign of the importance of doctrine in DEU 6:4-8.
ISA 7:14 “Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel.”
His second most important sign – the sign of the cross; JOH 2:18-21.
The sign of His death, burial, and resurrection, MAT 12:39-41; 16:4; JOH 2:19.
No person can ever reject TLJC as the Messiah and ever have eternal life, ROM 10:9-10, ACT 4:12.
For the Jews, their loss of freedom came every time they rejected Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
One of the more subtle forms of attack on the gospel is the attack of the false and pseudo-salvation that you have to publicly confess Christ.
You cannot start with ROM 10:9-10, because if you do, you take a text out of its context and make it a pretext for something you want to happen.
GEN 15:6 is quoted in ROM 4:3: “Abraham believed God, and it was imputed to him for righteousness.”
“By faith” – ek + ablative of means – pistis =
by means of faith.
The Jews were using the Mosaic Law to try to be saved.
Both during the Old Testament and during the great power demonstration of the hypostatic union, people rejected Christ as Savior because they were trying to be saved by keeping the Law.
The Jews were trying to get salvation by pursuing a law of righteousness –
eis + accusative of reference of nomos = “with reference to the law.”
Israel did not accomplish the true purpose of the Mosaic Law, which was to be an instructor or school bus to bring us to Christ, as per Galatians.
They did not pursue it by faith – ek + ablative of means from pistis =
by means of faith.
“Salvation has always been, and will always be, by means of faith never by means of works.”
LUK 12:48 And from everyone who has been given much shall much be required; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more.
They were assigned the responsibility for the formation, preservation, communication, and fulfillment of the canon of Scripture.
If you are going to interpret a passage properly you must have some concept of the original language and the isagogics concerning that passage.
They were unbelievers who would say “adonay elohenu adonay echad” which in reality was unbelievers confessing that Jesus is Lord, but not meaning the person of Jesus.
Jesus Christ was the rock which caused the self-righteous to stumble and a rock which aroused opposition.
