Commandment #7 is designed for the Protection of Marriage = Exo 20:14 “You shall not commit adultery.”
Col 3:5 Therefore consider the members of your earthly body [eyes, ears, hands, feet], as dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry.
Five Sins = immorality, impurity, passion, evil desires, greed, which all are said to be some sort of a manifestation of demonic worship or the worship of idolatry.
Col 3:5 Therefore, consider the members of your earthly body [eyes, ears, feet, hands, etc.] as dead to immorality [sexual activity outside of marriage] impurity [abnormal sexual activity],
passion [abnormal sex lust], evil desire [overwhelming desire for sex], and greed [craving for sexual activity], which keeps on amounting to idolatry or the worship of idols or demons.
Used – Eph 4:19 = some believers have become callous and have given themselves over to sensuality, for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness.
Used in EPH 5:5 For this you know with certainty, that no immoral or impure person or covetous man, who is an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.
Used in REV 2:14 where it describes the believers in the church of Pergamum and who are mixing doctrines of demons and making money out of religion and impurity.
- In REV 2:14 some hold to the teaching of Balaam (making money on religion and orgies.
- Some keep teaching about Balak who was known for putting stumbling blocks in the way of God’s people.
- Other believers and even unbelievers were eating food and things sacrificed to idols,
- There were those believers and unbelievers who acts of immorality, namely religious orgies.
Because of all the danger that accompanies sexual sins with the influence of Phallic Cult and reversionism, it gives Satan a room in the soul to work upon in the life of the believer.
Eph 4:27 ‘Do not give room or a space in your soul to the devil.” because if you do, you will be influenced and, in some cases, overwhelmed by the devil who goes about like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour.
All of this is because no nation ever survives the spread of the Phallic Cult and being under the influence of excessive sexual LUSTS.
It motivates the human race to get involved in the whole realm of sexual sins as in the Phallic cult, Eze 22:1‑16, 23:37‑49.
Are you going to face her with all her outrageous obscenities.
In all their killing, they’ve piled up guilt and in all their idol‑making, they have become filthy.
“you have brought your day near and have come to your years;” = they have forced a premature end to their existence — sin unto death.
Vs. 4 = says in effect. “I‘ll put you on exhibit as the scarecrow of the nations, the world’s worst joke.”
From far and near others will mock those believers involved with idolatry and adultery and they will be infamous in filth, notorious for chaos.
Even their leaders, the princes of Israel among you, will be involved in crime and their community will be disrespectful and abusive toward parents, abusive to outsiders, oppressive against orphans and widows.
They treated our Lord’s holy things with contempt and desecrated His Sabbaths and became familiar with God’s word which is prohibited by the word of God.
The Message Bible translation says in Eze 22:9 “You have people spreading lies and spilling blood, flocking to the hills to the sex shrines and fornicating unrestrained.”
In verse 11, idolatry promotes sex which is now anarchy. Anyone is fair game: neighbor, daughter‑in‑law, sister.
In verse12, Murder is for hire, usury is rampant, extortion is commonplace. “And they have forgotten God.”
In Jer 9:14, the prophet Jeremiah tells us why this happened to them as they followed idolatry “But they have walked after the stubbornness of their heart [the scar tissue of their hearts] and after the Baals, as their fathers taught them.
4. Bestiality, Lev 18:3‑25
The entire religious background of the Phoenician Phallic Cult is found in what is known as the “Epic of Ugarit” (or as some say u-ga-ri-tic).
In this Epic or long poem, the deeds and adventures of heroic or legendary figures or the history of a nation are recorded.
God the Father is counterfeited by the god called “el.” The son is counterfeited by Baal.
Baal has a struggle once a year with mot, the god of death, and he (mot) dies, which is a counterfeit of the cross.
Baal also had a wife‑sister, Anoth, who finds his body and brings it back to life (the counterfeit of the resurrection).
The goddess of sex, murder, warfare, and love. In Phoenician she is Ashtarti or Ashtarrith; In Latin she becomes Venus.
I gave it to show you the importance of idolatry as it relates to deception because that is all an idol is —- a lie or a nothing manifested by something or someone.
ISA 43:21 “The people whom I formed for Myself, Will declare My praise.”
PRO 16:4 The Lord has made everything for its own purpose, Even the wicked for the day of evil.
COL 1:16 For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities‑‑ all things have been created by Him and for Him.
COL 1:17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.
MAT 24:4 And Jesus answered and said to them, “See to it that no one misleads you.
Any area that you do not have sound doctrine in, is an area open to deception. Anything that we think or do, that is not oriented to the way God thinks is open to deception.
Idolatry leads to deception which leads to is demonization of the soul and personality of the believer or unbeliever living in the cosmic system.
It leads to deception where “thought transference” of demon doctrines are taught to the believer or unbeliever in the cosmic system.
Col 2:4 I keep on communicating these things in order that no one may delude you or deceive you with persuasive arguments.
In 1Co 3:18, Paul said, “Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you thinks that he is wise in this age, let him become foolish [realize that he is a fool] that he may become wise.
Even the woman in the garden, who was perfect and didn’t have an OSN ended up deceived by the craftiness and subtlety of Satan.
2Co 11:3 But I am afraid, lest as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds should be led astray [deceived] from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ.
Notice that it is the “mind” which is led astray first, not the body!
According to the Bible, she was not just tricked and partially deceived, but in 1Ti 2:14, quite deceived.
Deception is the invasion of the soul, especially the mind, emotion, and self‑ consciousness of the soul.
The result is the “invasion” of the human personality of the believer or unbeliever who lives in the cosmic system.
Deception is also the infiltration of satanic thought which why Satan’s thoughts are called doctrines of demons, 1Ti 4:1.
It just isn’t expressed in terms of evil, but in terms of improving this world, doing nice things for your fellow man, and supporting crusades.
Deception is the invasion of the soul with thought that is false thinking, i.e., the policy and principles by which Satan operated prior to the creation of man and afterwards as the ruler of this world.
Satan desires to promote sin and evil or to improve this world and try to make himself to be equal with God?
Here is where the alert pastor comes into the picture and reveals the spiritual and invisible purpose of “True Idolatry” which comes in by means of blinding and deceiving us from divine solutions.
For now we are deceived by looking at marriage, family, money, wealth, friends, social life, materialism, fame, fortune or power as a means of blessings and we forget the Blessor.
In idolatry, you always end up elevating anyone or anything over the Lord God or Jehovah Elohim.
Psa 39:5 “Behold, Thou hast made my days as handbreadths, And my lifetime as nothing in Thy sight, Surely every man at his best is a mere breath. Selah.
PSA 96:5 For all the gods of the peoples are idols, But the Lord made the heavens.
One of the most popular cults in the ancient world was the Phallic Cult = some principles that I believe explain why they fell into these temptations which were found in their “promise” land.
- Immorality of all kinds, Lev 18:3‑25, e.g, fornication, cultic prostitution, homosexuality, etc.
- Idolatry related to the Phallic Cult always includes human sacrifice, Lev 20:1‑5.
- Frenzied group sex, Lev 20:1-5.
- Demonism, Lev 20:6.
- Rejection of authority, Lev 20:9.
- Spiritual, social, and cultural degeneracy, Lev 20:10‑23.
- Bestiality and incest is forbidden and those involved in them pay the penalty of capital punishment or death, Lev 20:14-21.
- Masturbation, Deu 12:29-31; Gen 38:8-10.
- Merchandising feminine beauty, Eze 16:15, which refers to revealing certain parts of the female body to what Eze 16:15 calls “every passer-by who might be willing.”
- Excessive use of alcohol and the promotion of nudity among the sexes, Hab 2:15-16.
