The fantastic privileges of the indwelling of the Lord Jesus Christ as the Shekinah glory.
Sunday, May 9, 2010
God has a certain specific will concerning believers in every dispensation, and we left off noting that as a part of the new things that have come there is the indwelling of the Trinity.
JOH 14:19 After a little while the world will behold Me no more; or see me no longer.
Our Lord was speaking at this time as the God-man, and as such, He was making a statement about His resurrection, ascension and session.
JOH 14:19....but you {will} behold Me; or you will see me.
Because I live you shall live also. "You will see me and because I live you also will live."
Church-age believers would have the same opportunity to live in the same power system with the same divine assets as the humanity of Christ had.
JOH 14:20 In that day referring to the Church-age, the dispensation of the royal family of God,
JOH 14:20 "you shall come to know,"
The fut-mid-ind of the verb ginosko.
JOH 14:25-26, These things I have spoken to you, while abiding with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.
ginosko is also used in 1JO 3:24, in a very dramatic passage about the indwelling of Christ and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit together.
1JO 3:24 And the one who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And we know by this that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.
The indwelling of the Holy Spirit performs one major function while the indwelling of Christ provides some of the greatest motivation in life.
Motivation is not only what makes people tick but it will also be the basis for evaluation at the judgment seat of Christ and the evaluation of the believer’s life on this earth.
1CO 3:13 "Each man’s work will become evident; for the day will show it, because it is to be revealed with fire; and the fire itself will test the quality of each man’s work."
Personal love for God is the greatest motivation in life. Proper motivation will also assist you in your cultivating of impersonal unconditional love for all mankind.
In His humanity, TLJC loved God the Father.
He also had impersonal unconditional love for all mankind.
The indwelling of Christ as the Shekinah glory is one of the two major guarantees that God has provided for you your very own predesigned plan from eternity past and your escrow blessings within that plan.
"Shekinah" is derived from the Hebrew noun Shakan, meaning to dwell.
It refers to the fact that Jesus Christ indwelt certain sacred buildings in Israel.
Shekinah was actually coined by the rabbis who developed the technical word to speak of God as dwelling among His people. It was used to express the invisible presence of God with Israel.
"Glory" is the Hebrew Biblical word kabodh which was used for the visible manifestations of Jesus Christ as a Theophany.
Shekinah itself represents the invisibility of Christ as the God of Israel, indwelling three sacred buildings during the age of Israel.
1.Tabernacle
2. Solomon’s Temple
3. Zerubbabel’s Temple
