Fear will torment you and punish you. Part 5.

Friday, September 16, 2011

One of the most serious and dangerous principles concerning fear is the principle of Double-Mindedness.

When we fear or doubt God, we are said to be double minded, JAM 1:6, But let him ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.

To make you unstable, unreliable, and uncertain about everything – Your thoughts, God’s promises – Everything.

Because part of your mind may believe God’s promises of love and His provisions, but your doubts and fears reveal hidden beliefs contrary to those promises.

You can’t believe Jehovah Rappha is your healer, and then fear you’ll die of all kinds of sicknesses.
You can’t believe Jehovah Jireh is your provider, and then fear you’ll go bankrupt.

That is why God says that a double minded person should not expect to receive anything from Him.
You can have God’s peace and learn how to faith your fears to death.

Franklin D. Roosevelt once said, “The Only Thing We Have to Fear Is Fear Itself!”

Fear is a thief. As a Christian, fear should be your enemy.

HEB 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

The main difference is that faith assumes God will come through for you, and fear assumes that He won’t.

Choosing faith or fear means choosing who you will believe.

At that very moment, are we believing God, or are we believing Satan?

God says He will reward you for your desire to seek and obey Him.

He says He’s counted the very hairs on your head, and that He alone is your Provider and Protector.
He says such things in effect like, “God is using His wrath to teach and train you.”

PSA 41:7 All who hate me whisper together against me; Against me they devise my hurt,
PRO 18:8 The words of a whisperer are like dainty morsels, And they go down into the innermost parts of the body.
JER 20:10 For I have heard the whispering of many, “Terror on every side! Denounce him; yes, let us denounce him!” All my trusted friends,

Watching for my fall, say: “Perhaps he will be deceived, so that we may prevail against him And take our revenge on him.”

When the devil whispers to you that the details of your life are too trivial for God to be bothered with, and that you must ultimately fend for yourself, it feels true.

That’s when you have to make a conscious choice to believe God’s Word over your own feelings and emotions.

Fear is a sin of emotion.

Emotion cannot think, apply doctrine, or function in a crisis.

a. In normal emotion, the emotions respond to the authority and thinking of the soul.
b. In abnormal emotion, the emotion controls the soul and blanks out all thinking.

Abnormal emotion produces fear, worry, anxiety, anger, and hatred, resulting in violence.

Mind – kilyah = literally kidneys or reins and it is used figuratively for the emotions.

REV 2:23 “And all the churches will know that I am He who investigates the emotions and the right lobes [hearts].”
