The five character traits of the Judas Iscariot type.
Character trait #1: Judas was not only a traitor; he was also a hypocrite because the very things that Judas despised in others is the very thing that he did himself.
Some of those ways are a lot more difficult than one could imagine, especially those in positions of authority when the only thing left to do is name and cite the villain.
Here’s where a lot of believers try and use certain doctrines like the Doctrine of Privacy to justify themselves while telling others MYOB, when they are just as guilty as them; Mat 7:1-5.
We are just as fair to others as they are to us; Mat 7:12.
I did not say; “they were ignorant,” I said they were living in ignorance,” and there’s a vast difference.
EPH 4:18 being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart;
How many times have you heard me emphasize that the apostle Paul did not say that these believers in Ephesus were ignorant, he said “because of the ignorance that is in them.”
EPH 4:27 “Do not give the devil an opportunity [topos.”
Character trait #1: Judas was not only a traitor, he was also a hypocrite because the very things that Judas despised in others is the very thing that he did himself.
What better way to deal with this then to have the one apostle who was a reflection of the grace and mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ more than any of the others.
1TI 1:15-16, It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost {of all.} And yet for this reason I found mercy, in order that in me as the foremost, Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience, as an example for those who would believe in Him for eternal life.
There is a major difference between an ignorant individual and an individual who allows ignorant thoughts to take root and settle down in the “topos” rooms in the soul.
The one doing the judging is really the guilty party and under the divine discipline of our Lord.
If you’re wondering why I said Mr. and Mrs. Judas Iscariot is because equality not only exists in the plan of God for believers, but equality also exists in the Cosmic system of Satan.
Just like there is blessing by association, there is also suffering by association.
EPH 5:9 “for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth),
By exposing them, you must release yourself from the bondage that you allowed others to put you in because you would rather have pseudo-peace and security rather than freedom with prosperity.
Character trait #2: Judas accused others of being greedy when in reality, he was the greedy one who was also filled with envy and jealousy.
ROM 2:1 Therefore you are without excuse, every man {of you} who passes judgment, for in that you judge another, you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things.
Character trait #3: Judas was also a thief, stealing or robbing funds from the Lord’s money box, which exposes that Judas was full of avarice or greed; JOH 12:6.
JOH 12:6 — Judas was a thief and mishandled the funds that people gave to our Lord and His ministry as Judas stole from the Lord.
PRO 29:7 The righteous is concerned for the rights of the poor, The wicked does not understand {such} concern.
Character trait #4: Judas was a liar, not someone who tells lies every so often, but he was a liar as his father (the devil) was.
Our Lord is telling them that there is a traitor in their midst and that he is about to betray Him.
Judas became a traitor = the aorist-middle-indicative of the Greek verb ginomai which means to become something that you were not before.
I do not believe that the Lord chose Judas to fulfill a prophecy of damnation.
Hyper–Calvinism is a branch of Protestant theology that denies the universal duty of human beings to believe in Christ for the salvation of their souls.
Those who take these principles to the extreme teach that man is either chosen by God to go to heaven and live with Him forever or man is chosen by God to go to eternal damnation.
These types of believers usually function under what they call TULIP which is an acronym of five essential tenets or points concerning the Sovereignty of God and the depravity of man.
T.U.L.I.P.
(T) Total Depravity;
(U) Unconditional election;
(L) Limited atonement;
(I) Irresistible grace;
(P) Perseverance of the saints.
When our Lord was around adult believers, or Pharisees, Sadducees and scribes, all of them were astonished by His knowledge and spiritual strength; Luk 2:40-52.
This is not to say our Lord was not strong physically, because it took a lot of human strength to endure the beatings, the punches whip, the forced crown upon His head.
All of these principles apply to betrayers and traitors who make a living by manipulation, lies, broken vows; broken promises; etc.
It doesn’t really matter if you love our Lord, because if you love the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, there is divine blessing waiting just for you.
Our Lord also reveals that He would be betrayed by sighting certain prophecies in the Word of God, especially from those prophecies that were made in the Old Testament.
The Lord is rebuking the shepherds in those days for betraying the people of God by denying them doctrinal teaching and therefore, the Lord uses a prophecy that points to the ultimate betrayer, Judas Iscariot.
This is a stunning text and a powerful example of the minute details that characterize the prophetic passages in the Bible that are so accurate and precise that any scientist or numerologist wouldn’t even think of denying it.
“I was not telling the truth when I said I studied the Bible myself and I said I don’t believe it because it was written by man and not by God:” — I was just saying what I heard others say.”
If you are honest, sincere, open to truth, and most of all you are looking for the reason why you exist, the Bible has all the answers if you give it a chance.
The only real barrier to truth is the arrogance of presumption whereby one presumes that they already have it.
You will begin to know the real meaning behind statements like; “You shall know the truth and the truth will set you free.
“Those born once will die twice and those born twice will die once.”
It means theologically that all of us were born in sin, we were born physically alive, but spiritually dead; Psa 51:5; 58:3; Rom 5:12.
Can he be born again which means that he would be born twice, once physically, the other spiritually.
Marvel is the aorist-active-subjunctive of thaumazo (thou-mad’-zo); to marvel, to admire, to be amazed, be astonished, and to have reverence and adoration.
“Those born once will die twice and those born twice will die once.”
If you are born once that is only physical birth, then you will die twice which refers to physical death followed by the second death; Rev 2:11.
