Jesus gets Baptized by John.
Is tempted by Satan.
Cleanses the temple.
Performs the first miracle.
Then meets with Nicodemus.

LUK 3:23, When He began His ministry, Jesus Himself was thirty years of age, being, as was supposed, the son of Joseph, the son of Eli…

So the Messiah, the Servant of the LORD in Isaiah, would identify with sinners, take their sins on Himself, and justify them through the suffering He would endure.

NUM 4:35 and in Chronicles that a man had to be at least 30 years old to become a priest!

This was a public event to be recognized and an event to be remembered.

And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from Him for a season.

Mighty issues for the world were at stake in the conflict between the Prince of light and the leader of the kingdom of darkness.

The dominion that Adam had lost through sin would be recovered through obedience and suffering.

The sheep gate, the beginning of our Christian life where we enter into our relationship with our Lord, if you will.

JOH 10:27, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”

‘Well done, good and faithful servant (doulos) slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.’

MAT 6:19-21, Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven…where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

HEB 12:1, Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us…, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,

Rewards or crowns are contingent upon what we do with that free gift of salvation.

MAT 16:27, “For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and WILL THEN REPAY EVERY MAN ACCORDING TO HIS DEEDS”.

our failures cannot condemn anyone to hell

JOH 12:26, “If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also; if anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.”

We are not saved by service, but we are saved to serve.

The Crown of Life;
The Crown Imperishable or Incorruptible;
The Crown of Rejoicing;
The Crown of Righteousness;
The Crown of Glory.

JAM 1:12, “Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.”

Not everybody gets a trophy

THE IMPERISHABLE CROWN –

1CO 9:24-27, Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize?

THE CROWN OF REJOICING   –

Proverbs 11:30, “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who is wise wins souls.”

THE CROWN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS
2TI 4:5-8, “But watch in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of your ministry.

PRO 4:24-27, Put away from you a deceitful mouth And put devious speech far from you. Let your eyes look directly ahead And let your gaze be fixed straight in front of you. Watch the path of your feet And all your ways will be established.  Do not turn to the right nor to the left; Turn your foot from evil.

THE CROWN OF GLORY –
1PE 5:2-4, shepherd the flock of God among you,
