Fix our eyes on Jesus.

Sunday, September 25, 2011

To look away;
To look away from other things and steadfastly or intently look toward a distant object;
To turn one’s mind to a certain thing.

It is the Holy Spirit’s work to turn our eyes away from self to Jesus.
He tells us that we are nothing, but that “Christ is all in all.”

The minute the Christian takes his eyes off of the Lord Jesus, and turns them upon others, his momentum in the Christian life is slowed, and his progress in grace hindered.

If worldly and fleshly desires are harbored in our heart, they will obscure our spiritual vision and our ability to see Jesus as we should.

We walk where our Lord once walked. He knows thru firsthand experience our difficulties and sorrows. God never takes us thru a trial, without giving us something better on the other side.

Worry will keep you from fixing your eyes on Jesus, but fixing your eyes on Jesus will keep you from worry.

Look unto Jesus to live by his righteousness, and by his alone.

Do not dwell on yourself; dwell on what God has done for you in Jesus Christ.

Jesus is sure!
God is sure!
The Cross is sure!
The Holy Spirit is sure!
The promises are sure!
Fix your attention on the things that are sure!
