Fixing our eyes on Jesus. Part 2. Tom Cotroneo.

Friday, October 7, 2011

* To look away.
* To look away from other things and steadfastly or intently look toward a distant object.
* To turn one’s mind to a certain thing.

1] Look away from everything which may distract.
2] Concentrate on that which is important.

The minute the Christian takes his eyes off of the Lord Jesus, and turns them upon other things, his momentum in the Christian life is slowed, and his growth is hindered.

We walk where our Lord once walked. He knows thru first-hand experience our difficulties and sorrows. God never takes us thru a trial, without giving us something better on the other side.

In Him. There is rest. There is joy. There is love. There is light to guide us home. And there is perfect peace.

HEB 12:2– fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

JOH 3:14 -15 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; that whoever believes may in Him have eternal life.

ACT 16:31-32 “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you shall be saved, you and your household.”

COL 2:6 As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him.

1 JOH 3:2 Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we shall be. We know that, when He appears, we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him just as He is.
