The Spirit’s ministries are internal ministries. They were never designed to whitewash the devil’s world. The battlefield is no longer on the earth; rather it is in your soul.
These five ministries of the Holy Spirit are designed to provide an encapsulated environment in the devil’s world, an environment which is actually better than what Adam had in the garden.
Regeneration by the HS; baptism of the HS; indwelling of the HS; sealing of the HS; distribution of spiritual gifts.
Same gospel, same doctrine, but one mixed it with faith and one did not - and where is the work being done for fruit - the word of God performs its work in us who believe it.
Ignorance of doctrine is the most serious problem in Christianity, in the first century as well as in the twenty first century.
Cognisance of doctrine is the only means of spiritual growth, the only way to acquire capacity for divine blessing from the justice of God, and the only way to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ in time.
Without the pain, the loneliness, blood, humiliation, mocking, horror of His cross we were crucified with Him when we believed.
The death here is not physical death but spiritual death. All of your sins were imputed to Christ therefore your sins died with Him.
The literal meaning of the root word bapto is to dip, to plunge, to immerse, to submerge. Obviously the literal meaning cannot be applied to the baptism of the HS.
Bapto has also become far removed from anything to do with water. Metaphorically it means "change of identity" or to "identify."
We are not identified with all the dead, but with one who died, that is Christ, and as He was raised as the first fruit, so shall we, and therefore all these decisions to live the Christian way of life are more than worth it.
"I die daily" - every day I wake up I identify with my new identity (in Christ) and I reject the old identity
Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death?
This tremendous passage furnishes a great argument for separation from the world. It supplies the motive to put first things first.
I will serve, and damn the risk, because my flesh is dead and my spirit is alive through my identification with Christ by means of the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
In at least 120 instances in the epistles of Paul he uses the word "in" before on of the names of our Lord or before a pronoun that represents Him.
