God allures us and brings us into the wilderness experience.

The word pathah (paw-thaw’); translatated allure means to entice, to flatter, to persuade, to draw gently.
The Lord is driving her into a place where her old evil associations and habits would not have the same bewitching influence over her.

Therefore, the FIRST act of grace is seen in a merciful alluring or drawing.

JOH 12:32 “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all men to Myself.”

When we draw near to God, the pleasures of material things begin to fade and die in our experience and that life has lost its meaning and purpose.

Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.

1CO 15:57 But thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

The valley of Achor (trouble or trembling) was a valley near Jericho, so called in consequence of the trouble which the sin of Achan caused Israel (Josh 7:24,26).

His guilty action alone brought from Jehovah defeat upon Israel at Ai.

ECC 9:18 Wisdom is better than weapons of war, but one sinner destroys much good.

It’s interesting that one person who becomes negative toward a ministry or any organization can destroy the pastor, its leaders, etc.

PRO 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue,
PRO 10:19 When there are many words, transgression is unavoidable, But he who restrains his lips is wise.

ECC 10:12-14, Words from the mouth of a wise man are gracious, while the lips of a fool consume him; the beginning of his talking is folly, and the end of it is wicked madness. Yet the fool multiplies words. No man knows what will happen, and who can tell him what will come after him?

You’re not going to dip into a polluted mud hole and get a cup of clear, cool water, are you?

The God who made them used them as vessels of destruction and has the power to destroy a whole family or nation for the guilt of one (2KI 23:25-27);

EXO 20:4-5 You shall not make for yourself an idol, or form anything in heaven above or on earth beneath or in the waters below.

You shall not bow down to them or worship them, for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God,

punishing the children for the sins of their fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate Me.”
Negative volition is the basis of culpability; becoming a believer breaks this four generation curse principle.

The four generation curse always begins when people reject legitimate authority, and it always begins in the home.

In God’s eyes the individual members are not isolated atoms, but form one organic whole, and the good or the evil of one affects the whole and is laid to the charge of the whole.
Achan’s whole family was involved in the guilt; the sons and daughters of an age of reason must knew that the father had been hiding the gold and silver in the earth in his tent.

Though the law (DEU 24:16) forbade the slaying of children for their fathers’ sins, this did not apply to cases where, as here, Jehovah Himself commands execution. This was to illustrate how God can and will open a new door into a fresh and larger place of liberty.

ISA 40:29 He gives strength to the weary, And to {him who} lacks might He increases power.
HEB 11:33-34, who by faith conquered kingdoms, performed acts of righteousness, obtained promises, shut the mouths of lions, quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, from weakness were made strong, became mighty in war, put foreign armies to flight.
PSA 138:3 On the day I called Thou didst answer me; Thou didst make me bold with strength in my soul.
ISA 40:31 Yet those who wait for the Lord Will gain new strength; They will mount up {with} wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.

PHI 4:13 I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.
1SA 17:47 The Lord does not deliver by sword or by spear; for the battle is the Lord’s and He will give you into our hands. “

EXO 14:13 But Moses said to the people, “Do not fear! Stand by and see the salvation of the Lord which He will accomplish for you today;
GEN 6:3 Then the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, because he also is flesh; nevertheless his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.”
