God blessed Jacob in the very place that He disabled him.

Thursday, September 5, 2002

It was not until "the hollow of his thigh was touched" and he was totally weakened, that his relationship with God improved and he became serious about it.

It is not until we fully realize our own helplessness and nothingness that we are brought to cling to God and really seek His blessing,

God is often compelled to bring us into absolute helplessness before our faith will take hold of His strength.

PRO 21:31 The horse is prepared for the day of battle, But victory belongs to the Lord.

God blessed Jacob in the very place that He disabled him.

God can only be glorified by power equivalent to His own power. He cannot be glorified by human power, or angelic power.

Human personality improvement. Works of legalism; Behavior patterns such as self-satisfaction and human self-righteousness, Self-sacrifice, crusader arrogance and spirituality by works.

Neither human failure nor human success are an issue; the issue is: Whose power are you using?

JUD 7:2 And the Lord said to Gideon, "the people who are with you are too many for Me to give Midian into their hands, lest Israel become boastful, saying, 'My own power has delivered me.'

1PE 4:11 Whoever serves, let him do so as by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ,

Chokmah= metabolized doctrine PRO 8:14 "Counsel is mine and sound wisdom; I am understanding, power is mine.”

PRO 24:5 A wise man is strong, and a man of knowledge increases power.

LUK 2:40 And the child continued to grow and become strong [how], increasing in wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him.

DAN 2:20 Daniel answered and said, “let the name of God be blessed forever and ever, for wisdom and power belong to Him.”

MAT 22:29 But Jesus answered and said to them, “you are mistaken, not understanding the scriptures, or the power of God.”

ISA 40:29 He gives strength to the weary, and to him who lacks might He increases power.

A witness is one who gives confirmation to something and whose life is a testimony of that which they claim to believe.

Witnesses - martus = Willing to give your life for that which you claim to believe.

ACT 1:8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth."
