God manifests His greatness and glory to us in many ways. The Hebrew language is one of them.
COL 1:15-19, He (Jesus Christ) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth,
visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities–all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.
1CO 1:18, For the message of the Cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God!
He cares because we are His creation and God desires us to live with Him forever.
If you could travel at the speed of light, you could go around the Earth 7.5 times in one second.
5,865,696,000,000miles per year
PSA 191:6, The Heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them.
Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the Heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun. It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, like a champion rejoicing to run his course.
It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is deprived of its warmth.
He will hold you together in any and every circumstance you will be in. So learn to trust Him…
HEB 1:1-3. God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world.
And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
JER 30:22, So you will be My people, and I will be your God.
I can do all this through Christ who gives me strength.
The message from the Creator to the creation has always been…Salvation.
PSA 8:3-9, When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained; What is man that You take thought of him, And the son of man that You care for him?
GEN 9:13, I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.
GEN 17:15-16, “Sarah shall her name be. And I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall come from her”.
REV 2:17, To the one who is victorious, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give that person a white stone (of approval) with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it.

Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
JOH 21:15…..He [the Lord] said to him, [if you truly love me personally then here’s what to do Pater] “Tend My lambs.”
“lambs” is the noun arnion which refers to baby sheep, lambs and therefore, analogous to the new believers.
The Lord is saying to Peter, “If you really love me personally you’re qualified to feed new believers.”
a. New Convertsb. Ignorant Believersc. Carnal believers or cosmic believers who have repented.
No man can function as a pastor-teacher with his eyes on people.
The motivational virtue for the gift of pastor-teacher must come from personal love for TLJC.
JOH 21:16 He said to him again a second time, “Simon, {son} of John, do you love [pres-act-ind of agape] Me?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love [phileo] You.”
JOH 21:16….And Peter said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love [phileo] You.”
If God the Holy Spirit intended for the words to be the same, He would have used the same words.
EPH 4:12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ;
The pres-act-imp of poimaino which means to rule or clobber which is how the pastor-shepherd must function with some believers (such are here this morning – the wise asses.
This time he used the accusative plural of probaton which is translated sheep and it refers to the sophomores in the Christian life.
They are the sophomores which is made of two Greek words — sophos (wise) mores (morons).
With arrogance, a little knowledge is assumed to be omniscience, all knowledge.
When there is the high opinion of self-knowledge there is the rejection of the authority of the pastor-teacher.
More people fall into apostasy and quit submitting to a P-T and they refuse to become a part of an assembly, and neglect using their time, talent, treasure and spiritual gift in the sophomore stage.
JOH 21:17 He said to him the third time, “Simon, {son} of John, do you love [phileo] Me?”
“Lord, You know all things; You know that I love [phileo] You.” Jesus said to him, “Tend My sheep.
The pastor must possess “personal love for TLJC” to be effective in the teaching of Bible doctrine.
The pastor that truly loves the Lord will feed doctrine to the Lord’s people.
The pastor must have phileo or personal love for the Lord and must have agape or impersonal unconditional love for all.
“Lord, You know all things; You know that I love [phileo] You.” Jesus said to him, “Tend My sheep.
“Tend” is the pres-act-imp of bosko which is the command to moderately and prudently feed my humble sheep which is a reference to the seniors or the mature believers.
Poimaino means you have to kick or use that stick a shepherd carries.
There are only two categories of teachable believers basically then; freshmen and seniors.
“Gives light” means it causes us to see properly.
The simple is the Hebrew noun pethiy, there’s your letter Pe and it means even to the silly, the, foolish, the ignorant ones, or the simple-minded.
1CO 1:26-29, For consider your calling, brethren, that there were not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble;
1CO 1:27 but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong,
1CO 1:28 and the base things of the world and the despised, God has chosen, the things that are not, that He might nullify the things that are,
1CO 1:29 that no man should boast before God.
Understanding = to strengthen the mind and there is a tremendous difference between strengthening the mind and storing it up with information.
The first word in the sentence is hP# peh which is translated the mouth as the means of inhaling the breath of God, 2TI 3:16-17.
In the mature believer, knowledge of doctrine increases the desire for more doctrine and they become grieved when they can’t find it.
He would rather be a prisoner to man than in bondage to sin.
What kind of sins could this man commit? Answer = MAS.
What is oppression? It is unjust and cruel exercise of authority or power.
It is also heaviness in the body or mind or to burden spiritually or mentally by pressure.
This man has a ministry….and there are two things that could eliminate his ministry.”Hatred and bitterness.”
Thy face represents God’s approval and divine favor.
In the ancient world if a person could see the face of a king he would usually receive his desires and blessings from the king.
JAM 4:8…Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.
