“it” = blessing supplied at salvation (baptism of the HS) and blessing supplied at maturity (escrow blessing in time) and ultimate blessing (escrow blessing in eternity).
Ps 23:6
Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life,
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Ex 33:19
And He said, "I Myself will make all My goodness pass before you, and will proclaim the name of the Lord before you; and I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show compassion on whom I will show compassion."
“but” - the adversative conjunction alla sets up a contrast - “but in contrast to this,” a contrast between the false source of blessing and the true source of blessing.
tou eleoontos theos = from God who shows mercy. Eleoontos is God giving us what we do not deserve through judicial imputation. Imputation of your sins to Christ and the imputation of +R to you at salvation.
There is a way to see the glory of God: maximum doctrine resident in the soul - then have the justice of God impute divine blessing to the righteousness of God at maturity and thereafter.
Condemnation comes from the imputation of Adam’s sin and therefore the potential is set up immediately.
The potential = the gospel. Non-meritorious faith in Christ means the first hope, which is absolute confidence in eternal life = MERCY.
AOS + Gospel + confidence of EL = God’s mercy.
