God’s gift of grace to the believer whose conscience has been seared.

1SA 31:13 – the mourning lasted seven days.

It is “evil” because David is locked into a conscience that has been defiled and seared.

In the Church-age, God doesnt bring a prophet to you, He provides a pastor-teacher for you, but you are to go to him, he is not to go to you, HEB 10:25.

1CO 10:11 Now these things happened to them as an example, and they were written for our instruction, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.

To attack the messenger of God is to attack the vehicle that God uses to communicate His word and the deliverance that believers need.

Rahab protected her entire household from evil because she sheltered the messengers of God, JOS 6:25.

EPH 4:12 equips the saints for the work of the ministry, to the building up of the body of Christ;

ROM 14:4 Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and stand he will, for the Lord is able to make him stand.

MAT 23:3 For they say things, and do not do them.

MAT 10:40He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me.”

LUK 9:5And as for those who do not receive you, as you go out from that city, shake off the dust from your feet as a testimony against them.”

1SA 8:7 And the Lord said to Samuel, for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me from being king over them.

1CO 1:12 – some believers will say, “I’m not of Paul or Apollos or Cephas,” – “I am of Christ.”

They violate HEB 13:7,17, 1CO 16:15-16; 2CO 10:8; 1TH 5:11-12.

All day long he would sit down in the palace and throw tantrums; he was in psychopathic arrogance.

Selah is the musical pause which denotes the faith rest drill.

PRO 13:20b The companion of fools will suffer harm.

David has become psychotic through the function of his own volition and his preoccupation with himself.

TLJC is not coming personally to David, he is sending a prophet, someone to warn David concerning his destiny.

J. Vernon McGee – 1TI 5:20 Those who continue in the sin of receiving or making accusations, rebuke in the presence of all, so that the rest also may be fearful.

Paul mentioned Peter needing to be rebuked, GAL 2:11-14. He mentioned Euodia and Syntyche, two women who were fighting in the church at Philippi, PHI 4:2.

He mentioned Archippus who wasnt doing his job as a pastor, COL 4:17.

3JO 1:9I wrote something to the church; but Diotrephes, who loves to be first among them, does not accept what we say.”

The one individual who is about to help David get out of a jam is a man of God, a prophet, a man who is going to teach David BD and help David to recover.

Esteem the office, respect the man, and love him impersonally and unconditionally, or else you will end up deceived.

To prolong Davids life and to fulfill the plan of God for his life, the justice of God must challenge the volition of David.

Nathan told David that he couldnt build a temple for the Lord, 2Sa 7.

“Life of David,” 1CH 29:29. “Life of Solomon,” 2CH 9:29.

Many times David and Solomon failed but Nathans faithful ministry of doctrine stabilized the situation.

This verse does not say, then Nathan decided to have a talk with David.

1CO 5:6-7 Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump of dough? Clean out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump,

Nathan was sent on a very dangerous and difficult mission, and he had the necessary courage and wisdom to accomplish his mission.

David represents the highest authority in Israel, and even though David is wrong that approach attacks the authority of David, not the sinfulness of David.

ACT 23:5b “You shall not speak evil of a ruler of your people.”

“Turn in your Torah to EXO 20:13-15, you murderer, you adulterer, you thief, you lying little weasel.”

The Lord is for restoration not annihilation.

2CO 12:15 And I will most gladly spend and be expended for your souls. If I love you the more, am I to be loved the less?

God will allow us to fall into sin and evil, but He does not permit us to remain there without some type of warning.

Even when we are living in sin, the Lord seeks for us before we seek after Him. GEN 3:9 Then the Lord God called to the man, and said to him, “Where are you?”

EZE 34:16 I will seek the lost, bring back the scattered, bind up the broken, and strengthen the sick;
