God’s laws for prosperity are to renew our minds. Pastor Joe Sugrue.

Thursday, December 14, 2006

God wants us to prosper financially, but only if this financial prosperity and the things that it will buy will never in any way come ahead of Him.

PRO 22:4 “True humility and respect for the Lord lead a man to riches, honor and long life“ (TLB)

HEB 2:8 And You have put Him [Jesus Christ] in complete charge of everything there is. (TLB)

EXO 20:3 “You shall have no other gods before Me.”

PSA 34:10 The young lions do lack and suffer hunger; But they who seek the Lord shall not be in want of any good thing.

When we are in right standing with Him and we love Him ahead of everything else and always keep Him first, we’ll receive all of the riches and honor that we’ll ever want or need.

JOH 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Instead of constantly focusing on the problems, we should focus constantly on the promises of God’s Word and the great ability of the Holy Spirit living inside of us.

ISA 26:3 “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in Thee.”

First, we must keep Him first at all times by keeping our mind on Him.
Second, we must trust Him completely.

God’s laws of prosperity will only work to the degree that we keep Him first in our lives, totally, completely and absolutely ahead of everything else.

The blessings that we receive from our Father will be in direct proportion to the degree of our true, deep and lasting commitment to Him.

The second law for God’s laws for prosperity is to renew our minds so that we will understand that God’s way for prosperity is different than the world’s way.

In order to understand and apply God’s laws of prosperity, we must stop conforming to the world’s system and “renew” our minds with God’s laws of prosperity.

The Greek word metamorphoo (which means a metamorphosis a complete change) that is used in Romans 12:2 is the very same word that is used in MAT 17:2 and MAR 9:2 to describe the “transfiguration” which is the complete change of Jesus Christ.

MAT 17:2 And He was transfigured [metamorphoo] before them; and His face shone like the sun, and His garments became as white as light.

3JO 1:2 Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.

We will experience this prosperity and health that He wants so much for us in exact proportion to the degree that our souls are “prospered”— to the exact degree that our souls are made brand new.

The soul is the combination of our heart, our mind, and our emotions.

A prosperous soul is a soul that is filled with God’s Word.

PSA 19:7 The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.

We have to change from the way that we have always handled our finances to the way that our Father tells us to handle our finances.

JOH 17:17 “Sanctify them in the truth; Thy word is truth.”
