Luke 11, The disciples will ask to be taught how to pray, Jesus teaches what many call the LORD’s Prayer.
Jesus rejects the claim that he casts out demons by the power of Beelzebub.
The Queen of the South (the Queen of Sheba) and the men of Nineveh are mentioned. Jesus rebukes the Pharisees for their concern for merely external matters – their cup and dish are clean, but their inward parts are full of greed and wickedness.
Jesus taught this basic prayer in MAT 6 the sermon on the Mount. This seems like a separate event, if so then the fact that HE repeated it here showed how important it is.
The fact that HE did not repeat it the exact same way shows that it was not to be used as a ritual.
“Blessed, praised, and glorified, exalted, and honored, magnified and lauded be the name of the Holy One.”
ECC 5:2, God is in heaven, and you are on earth; therefore, let your words be few.
But what we should say is “Do Your will, because I know it is the best for me. Change me where I don’t understand or where I have trouble to accept Your will. Let me understand it, all in your perfect timing.
JAM 4:3, You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions.
“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?”
You have a choice HE said, either I’M of the KOD or I AM GOD.
Lincoln said, “A house divided against itself cannot stand. I believe this government cannot endure, permanently, half slave and half free.
I do not expect the Union to be dissolved. I do not expect the house to fall, but I do expect it will cease to be divided.
A nation divided, a family divided, a company divided, a ministry divided cannot stand.
But our Spiritual life is the same, there is no neutral. You are either moving forward at a particular speed or you are moving backward at a particular speed.
It is a picture of a person who tries to be neutral. They say they are not for Satan, but they are also not for Jesus. Jesus shows us that this is impossible in the long run.
ECC 3:10-12, I have seen the burden that God has laid upon the sons of men to occupy them. He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men, yet they cannot fathom the work that God has done from beginning to end.
I know that there is nothing better for them than to rejoice and do good while they live.
But the Scripture warns repeatedly that the Devil is the father of all liars and murderers (JOH 8:44); he is a master con-artist (2CO 11:13-15); that he comes only to steal, kill and destroy you, your family, your church, and everything decent, right and holy (JOH 10:10).
The Fifteen Promises of the Rosary!
“I promise my special protection and great graces.”
One thing is very clear that is Roman Catholics are utterly consumed with the “Blessed Virgin Mary”.
PHI 2:9-10, “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth.”
MAT 6:7, “But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do…”
Mary was the mother of the humanity of Jesus Christ, but the incarnate GOD has no mother. Mary was not the holy mother of GOD.
The Queen of the South and the men of Nineveh were both Gentiles. But they had a more open heart to the things of GOD than the religious Jews around Jesus.
The irony is great: The Ninevites and the Queen of Sheba accepted the LORD, the people listening the Jewish leadership… rejected HIM.
If you do not see Jesus, it is not because HE is in hiding, but because your eyes are blinded.
The Pharisees were so careful in their outward obedience that they would literally tithe from their herb gardens, counting out seeds and leaves, and giving a tenth of each to God.
Literally, the Greek word for “hypocrites” means an actor, someone playing a part. Jesus exposed the corruption that was covered by the spiritual image of the scribes and Pharisees.
Jesus prophesied that these leaders would complete the rejection of the prophets their fathers began by persecuting and killing HIS disciples.
Jesus spoke here of all the righteous martyrs of the Old Testament. Abel was clearly the first, and in the way that the Hebrew Bible wasarranged, Zechariah was the last.
Applied knowledge is power. Knowledge does nothing without the application.
Proverbs tells us what those who refuse correction do. First, they hate those who correct them (PRO 9:8, PRO 15:12).
Second, they do not listen to the one correcting them (PRO 13:1).
Third, they despise their own soul (PRO 15:32).
The character of those who refuse correction. They are stupid (PRO 12:1) and they are foolish (PRO 15:5).
